Try VSync turned on. and if you have a LCD flatscreen set to 59hz, then manually set it to 60hz if your monitor supports it. To do that right click desktop and open nvidia control. inside display>change resolution click Customize then Create Custom Resolution on that page set your normal resolution and make sure it has 60 in Refresh rate. And if it already has 60, try the other way lol. The reason I said this, is that some games have problems running in either 59/60hz it depends on game.

It's really the same as 'go back to whatever country you came from' except replace country with game, and now you have a new 'gamist' phrase, instead of just an old fashioned 'racist' one.

I'm not mad, I'm just bored of the same unoriginal comments/memes by some people. You are not the first to say that, nor will you be the last. Remember that scene in Groundhog Day when he wakes up to the same stupid song? Well, kind of the same thing. As for COD, naww I haven't played since I completed the first one.

Soylent Beanz? Has a nice ring to it. :D Agh, I hate people like you so much, that stupid god awful phrase should be banned.

Vaulting animation Day Z could use
disorder replied to thealgerian's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Lol my friend broke all his bones and bled out instantly when he did a 'normal' vault over a sandbag wall. Totally gay that was. -
People who get the game just for the mod are rushing the gun (get it!?) you really need to be able to play the military portion of arma2 to play the DZ mod efficiently. Go and do some military training, then play "War Welcome" single player scenario and do some of the campaigns.

The wiki has all the answers you need, I recommend reading up on every page there http://dayzwiki.com/wiki/index.php?title=Status_Effects To be specific, the effect you're seeing is 'shock; -
Its called "peripheral detection" and its a thing to mark nearby entities/players that aren't in your immediate view but off to the side. It is set to on with recruit difficulty.

I haven't tested much with the cans they never seemed to work properly and even if I threw one it seems it would still trigger a zombie swarm of those nearby. I would skip over cans and bottles, go right for the hatchet if you can find one (usually on stairwells inside industrial buildings) and some road flares for distractions (you get 10 per slot of those anyway)

Ok to properly evade, you need to tell the difference between stand/crouch/prone and fast and slow standing and sprinting gives you the most visibility standing and walking gives you reduced visibility crouching and moving fast gives you a visibility between the previous 2 crouching and moving slow gives you visibility lower than the top 3, but not as good as: going prone and slow, gives the best chance to evade at close range. Stay out of sight of the zombies vision direction (where the head is looking) Don't move when a zombie is crossing past you within 5m or looking at you move away from zombies that head to your direction by slowly backing off while lying prone. wait for zombies to change direction, they head off to random places sometimes and don't care about you. z's like guns, loud noises and dead bodies, flares and smoke. They will see smoke from very far away and if you throw it far enough you can get zombies to run after it instead of stay near you. (in fact I rescued someone using this tactic as they were stuck in a building)

Argh annoying! Someone the other day 'trained' a zombie on to me. If anyone doesn't know what that means, the z was chasing him and he was sprinting along. I was hidden in short grass about to approach a town to loot and I didn't see him. Well he just ran up next to me and the z switched targets onto me, then he ran off to bandage. Dick move. Wasn't pleased about that and I hope this small type of annoyance works its way out in the coming patches. Anyone else have others take advantage of the z/ai to mess you up?

Haha, that is pretty harsh. Don't you end up dying too?

disorder replied to peliluola@gmail.com's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
That's pretty cool, but you know most android's built in browser can visit dayzmap.info and the wiki. I use dolphin browser actually but built in one should be ok with it too -
Luckiest loot you've discovered?
disorder replied to Mays (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Found at different times . AK Kobra with sight or ak74. Found in a dear stand north of Kamenka Czech backpack and Lee Enfield rifle in the airstrip near Balota (it was in the shed in the entrance) In one of the hangars was also an m16 Checking the makeshift base on the road near the airstrip I found another m16 and an alice pack. I also found a shotgun with a light on it. Now I'm afraid of players because its the biggest haul I've had in a while lol. I found an epi-pen, I've only ever seen 1 so far. -
The hidden problems with PVP/PVE only servers.
disorder replied to SystemiK's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Wow that's so silly that people compare this mod to other games that have nothing in common at all. First this mod is unique in that it's randomly generated in a large open sandbox world. Secondly its generated over a tactical military shooter which emphasises realism. Diablo (3) is a fixed class, ultimate elite-fest catered to end game grinding and L4D is a 4 player coop corridor FPS. Do people not get why some want to play this mod their own way? Because its *unique* and its fun and if people wan't to play PVE let them. This mod would not have had 60k~ or whatever it is, players in 4 weeks of people who don't want to shoot zombies. -
Life expectancy now 47 minutes? What's up?

Hunting for beans takes 1hr 30mins, so it probably pushed it up a bit. -

The main hive gives persistence over all servers, if you plan on only ever using one server (a private one or whatever) then what does it matter if your character can't ever switch servers? Yes it can be used by some to cheat, but many don't. They just want to play hassle free. The ones that have lots of gear and have done loads of stuff seem to be bored now anyway! Solution: Remove character persistence over all servers and make it host specific, the ones that are running the game and paying the cash should get to host their own hive systems. The hive systems can connect to a Master-Hive which checks up on BE and ID validity and then sends messages to the individual hosts of any infractions, then its up to the host to resolve any issues. This gives people totally new, unconnected characters on each server and force them to begin anew instead of being able to switch/ cheat the current system.

As I posted in another topic, you can't stop a tidal wave with your hand. To try and stop anything is futile. Make something idiot proof and they make a better idiot. Make something hack proof and they make a better hacker. Make something private, restricted or prohibited and everyone will whatever they can to make it public, share it and have a enjoyable playing experience regardless of what anyone 'wants'. Remember this is the age of instant, on-demand satisfaction... That's absolute tosh, not everyone has that kind of mindset. Remember your language, everyone means everyone and you can't go around making sweeping generalisations like that. The fact is Some people might do that, but also some people might also kill you on sight, some might not. Some people want to roleplay, some think its stupid. And most importantly, Some people want PVE! -
I don't like the way zombies warp through things, doors mostly. I understand this is because of some door-break mechanic which is half implemented, but I say it just gives them an unfair advantage since barricades and wire fences aren't as abundant as functioning doors. The dev should take this out until the full idea is implemented and at least make it so that it takes a few minutes to break the door. Secondly, I think the animation for the zombies plays too fast and it is like they are hyperactive sometimes, even if you as a person can react quickly it still means you have to wait for your character to perform his own clunky animations which again gives them an advantage. (as if great numbers and constant respawning wasn't good enough). Along with them looking like a bunch of kids on a sugar rush they also seem to run around in circles when trying to get around things, that might be some scripting bug. Well not moaning or anything, hope to see more in the future from the mod.
-
Its hard because the rules make the servers open, which means any old douche can play. I really hope the dev eases up on the private server thing eventually. You know that old saying if you make something idiot proof, they'll just make a better idiot. To try and stop the tidal wave with your hand is kind of futile. Sorry that is rather Zen I suppose.
