I share your sentiments entirely! Only problem is, I cannot use a free camera within the DayZ mod. I wanted to have zombies in them too! Instead I had to load Arma II map editor and enable the free cam from there.

WHAT? I am running an intel celron single core 1.2 GHz, with an ATI Radeon HD 5450 with 2 gig of ram on a 15" CRT monitor and I get 30 - 50 FPS. Y'all are crazy.

Because you are thinking of this like it is a game. In an apocolypse where law no longer exists people will do whatever the hell they want. The guy with the enfield had poor judgement. Just because someone is a bandit doesn't mean they are cool, calm and calculated.

I had a female character for a brief time. Playing as a group of about 6 it didn't take long before the 'Which one are you? Beard and glasses?' etc etc and a few almost shootings because people were not sure if someone was from our group or another random survivor type stuff wore thin so I just thought sod it if I pick the female everyone will know which one is me! It lasted about 3 days before everyone had ghillie suits but me, we got killed by hackers and I thought F this, I ain't missing out on a ghillie again just for being easily distinguishable!

While I see your point, this is not really the type of game that you want to be leaving great and rare items for the next guy. You are in a hospital and find 5 morphine, you have 8 slots in your bag. Do you take 3 and leave 2 for the next guy or do you grab all that shit?! I know what I would do, and bravo to you if you would leave any, but in a survival situation that is not thinking smart! Same with vehicles, especially if you play in a group. They are mobile storage and speed up getting your group together/supply runs 10 fold. And someone always finds your stash eventually so it is better to get a few vehicles and stash them in a few spots.

I checked about 8 of the 30+ tents before my balls receeded into my body and I ran lke a girl with 2 SAW's, 8 boxes of ammo, NVG, GPS etc etc (no ghillie though). Of the ones I checked I would guess about 5 of them were completely empty, the other 3 were rammed with gear.

Don't knock Arma II. There are TONS of mods/user created missions so there is bound to be something you will enjoy in there! Hell you can easily spend an evening just dicking about in boot camp with a few friends, flying jets, hellicopters etc etc

I would have LOVED to see that! Sadly I had no intentions of sitting in a bush for hours on end, waiting! But at least I was honest and didn't get a friend to walk into it and be like 'OMG guise look what I did!!'

Favoriting a server is there for a reason. Even if you ARE unlucky enough to stumble upon a bad server it is not lke they will be killing you. You just mark that server down as one to avoid and move on. EDIT - My text was realy small.

Assuming you play with friends, If you have: A camp in a secure location. If stuff is being taken often you need to move it. (This is very much an ongoing task, as once someone finds it they will remember it and come back again). Enough gear in the camp to restock everyone should they die. (And if someone does die and restock, you need to replace that gear again). Enough vehicles to be able to do supply runs and/or pickup fresh spawn team mates. (If your ride(s) get stolen as they often do, you need to source more) Enough parts and petrol to maintain said vehicles. A good range of high quality weapons between you. (Snipers, LMG's, assualt rifles, a good amount of silenced weapons for zombie killing in town raids). All the bells and whistles (NVG's, GPS, Toolbox, etc) Enough Ammo/food/drink to last you and your team for a long time. THEN I would say you are 'done' and your only other viable option would to be to turn to banditry. And even then that is leaving out trying to hunt down a heli for your team.

They were even kind enough to leave us ATV's to carry all that heavy gear :) Note - This was done at the weekend, the video was originally just for the K.F.D.S, but our camp has now moved!

If you have seen the other videos we have done, you may remember one where we lose and ATV and replace it with a car? It was one of these ATV's we lost...and re returned to this same camp a few days later to nab that car to replace it with :D

Haha yeah. We lost our characters to hackers today too. So I am sure glad we actually got to have some fun with our gear before we lost it ;)
