I have just started playing on my own Private Hive, so my character is only a few days old. My Public Hive character is 17 days old (screen shot to follow as I am currently at work). With my both characters I use stealth and subterfuge and avoid other players as much as possible. I will normally "hightail" it form a confrontation as I don't want to shoot anyone and don't want to get shot myself. But yes, I use the Private Hive to get away from it all and discover areas that I wouldn't normally go in to on a Public Hive Server. :)

I think it will still take a while for it to switch over to Arma3 (if it does ... not sure). If you can afford to buy it now, then buy the game and get the mod and join us all. You'll still get a good couple of month game play from it before you have to make the decision to go Standalone or Mod. Besides ... might give you an opportunity to practice a little beforehand and get more familiar with things. Just my opinion ... I dunno.

Sounds like the game is shutting down properly when you are closing it and is leaving a portion resident in memory. As this doesn't happen to me it might have something to do with the memory on your machine ... not sure. Every time I finish playing, I normally shut my machine down anyway ... so I have never experienced this problem at all. Maybe some of the veterans out there could offer more solid advice. Sorry I can be of more help. :(

They also don't transfer over Public Servers either ... just adding that. :) There are various causes here ... maybe post some more information like versions of the game and mod and maybe some server details. Failing that ... the excuse for this one is: "static from plastic slide rules"

Well the solution is actually kind of simple from a concept point of view ... And should be achievable in the scripting side ... But I stand under correction. We already have server modes: recruit, veteran, etc.... So why not plug in the zombies to that matrix. For example ... Veteran zombies have a higher infection chance ... More alert to sounds ... Etc. etc. etc. That way server instances can cater for the players and the mod doesn't have to try and cater for everyone who plays in one go. The natural progression of a player would be to learn the game on a starter server and then progress up the ladder tree. You could also tie this in to humanity or something ... But not sure hat would be practical. Just a thought.

PM me and I will give you the details of my Private Hive. My server runs standard load outs and I as the admin do not use the map tools at all ... Because it would just spoil the game. It is password protected at the moment while I resolve the whitelist issue and I haven't really advertised for players as such ... So I need to still get many more players. It is located in Europe and runs GMT-6 and is a 40 player server ... Hope that is not a problem.

What stops me from shooting some cockpit glass out and then removing the main rotor. :)

Hi, I don't have a group per say ... but you can join "DE 4265" ... the server runs at GMT-6 and is normally quite busy. You could probably find a few friends then. I am meeting up with another guy from these forums on Friday at 20:00 GMT+1 on that server if you wanna join us ... look for RazoRbacK ... thats me. :)

None I am afraid ... I use DayZ Commander to connect to a server and then it updates Battleye while I am connected, if it has to.

v1.7.6 has now taken care of this ... say thank you to the Devs ... some of them are human too. :)

But that is for Noob Players who can't handle the game and need to respawn closer to their mummy ... that is what you meant right? ;)

LMAO ... you are just like me ... OCD style thing. I will normally carry the following at minimum (without Ammo): 2x Cooked Meat (cans if no Meat available) 2x Water Bottles 1x Morphine 1x Pain Killers When my Drink Flashes ... I eat as well ... and then look to restock on both Food and Drink to be safe. If I am going on a long trip ... I will pack between 1 and 3 extra drink (cans) and food, which I dispose of along the way. Normally I try to plot my routes to pass through areas where there are animals to hunt and water to fill up on. If I get in to a situation and I need to use my Morphine ... I will then immediately find a way to get more. As I am a Lone Wolf ... I will normally go and hunt if I have been particularly badly battered by Zombies. This tends to work pretty well for me. I very rarely carry Blood Bags ... because I tend to avoid other players as much as possible. :)

Yep that is the software. Try and make sure your Battleye is 100% updated. I think there is a way to do it manually ... not sure ... you might have to Google for that one. I am really sorry I can't be more helpful.

I hope I am not one of them ... *quickly checks his posts* ... ... okay I am offering a solution. Those of you that are upset and angry and really really annoyed ... I propose that you feel free to hunt me down on a Private Hive Server until you feel better. I will stick to the coast to make it easy and I will only use a Hatchet ... if however I kill you with the Hatchet you have to forget the whole canned food incident and move on. Anyone else who wants to join me as Cannon Fodder is most welcome. :) Then afterwards we can all gather around the camp fire ... sing Koombayah (or however the hell you spell it) ... have a nice hug ... a group photo ... and then move on as a cohesive community (while as cohesive as a community spread across the world can be) ... but you get my point. Okay ... who is in? p.s. No Bambis or Seals were mentioned in this post until now ... ;)

You say there is no Kick Message? Try some other servers that are running 1.7.6 ... or earlier. Without a Kick Message it would be difficult to troubleshoot your problem ... might help by eliminating server versions or something. Like look for older Arma versions and see if you can join those servers ... note down the version numbers and stuff. Sorry I can't be of more help ... I am only able to test out connections in like 3 hours time. :(
