I normally set up camp in the wilderness area ... now with the new patch and wandering Zombies ... you have to choose your spot carefully. I will then make runs in to the cities but with an Empty Back Pack and normally just a Hatchet and some basic medical supplies, this allows me to maximise the reward and minimise my risk if I do get killed. Seems to work for me and suits my playing style. :) -
Hi Ryan, Please provide preferable location and time zone you want to play in. Failing that, just find some servers and join ... most of the time players will team up. Welcome to the game and the forums.

First mistake ... only do it if you know the server is empty or the people in the city are trustworthy. Best solution is to avoid other players in general ... I have only recently teamed up with another player, but that is because our ages are similar and we have he same play style. The other posters have sound advice. I play it on a Lenovo Y560 ... a low end gaming rig (still waiting for my Alienware one to arrive). So yes it is possible ... the trick is to find a laptop with a dedicated graphics card and not one that uses shared memory. Obviously a PC is preferred to most, good luck.

And it is fully updated? If yes, then try a few different servers to see if you are getting the same problem. Sorry I can't be of more help.

This is not the opinion of all Server Admins ... I recommend you find a server with Admins who have a different outlook on hosting a server.

Hi, If you have the game in Steam ... try to validate all your local files. If you still can't connect, then try different servers (download DayZ Commander or something similar). If you still can't connect, send me a PM and I will send you the details of my PUBLIC HIVE hosted in Europe that you can try. Please Note: To all moderators, the reason why I recommend my server is that I had a similar problem of not being able to connect and after making some changes on my server I was able to connect. This is merely a test for this player to see if it is a server problem or a client problem and not an attempt to promote my server ... don't want another post deleted for no reason.

I always get the SSL connect error ... I doubt very much that is your problem. Try and validate all your files in Steam (if you can) and maybe try a few different servers. I had similar issues the other day but it was due to a server issue ... which I rectified on my server and the problem went away. Sorry that I can't be of more help. -
What's wrong with us ... We don't bite ... Well some of us don't. ;) If you don't get a ban message than chances are you weren't banned. I would try another server. Failing that try to validate your local files if you installed it through Steam. HTH

I think they were just trolling you dude ... if your side is clear then nothing will happen. Worse case if they are friends with an admin and/or the admin is a pr**k, you might get banned from that server (not globally banned so don't panic). I recommend you find another server to play on. If you play on European servers, send me a PM and I will give you the details for my Public Hive Server. Good luck and mind the trolls. :) -

He doesn't have Arma2 in Steam ... he can't re-validate the files ... he never purchased it through Steam. -

It is ... if you have bought Arma2 through Steam. You haven't ... so you would have to manually add Arma2 to Steam ... https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=2219-YDJV-5557 ... the choice is yours, Tools like DayZ commander make it easier to find servers and keep the updated versions of the mode files you need. Once again, this is just my opinion and you should feel free to use whichever method you prefer. Good Luck. :) -

Ummm ... just a guess ... but you haven't told Steam where your Arma2 install is? Download DayZ Commander or Play with Six and launch the game through there ... much easier IMHO. -
Really ... are you sure ... even just armed with an Axe ... I still get KOS. When that happens however, it become my mission for the remainder of the session to hunt all Bandits with an Axe. :)

That's because the engine is trying to make a Heroe's life more challenging ... or just buggy code ... I am going to go with more challenging. ;)

Well the home page for the forum is: http://www.dayzasylum.com/ So I think those forums are for their community members and I don't necessarily think registering there was the problem. Chances are you downloaded something that stole your key, I know a guy who downloaded a Single Player mod and found out last night that he now had a Global Ban. Have you been able to play since? Are you still getting the message? Anyway ... good luck ... I hope it works out for you.

How did it end? Bandits are people too ... if you shoot them (or let them shoot each other) do they not bleed ... if surrounded by a Zombie horde, do they not scream in fear. :) -
