    I read an article somewhere (I forget where but I know it was linked on Zergnet), about the two guys being scared by the guy saying 'nonono' into his mic. The article also said 'if you aren't playing DayZ then you should be', so I did what I was told. :)

    This is usually my goal, but once you become self-reliant in the forests the game just turns into one big hiking simulator.

    As cheesy as it sounds, it's probably 110% true. It's wise not to fuck with Zed. Well then i'd better not go to the NW airfield on the random server him and his teenage friends probably camp all day. After all, his gun is anti-material, and that material is our faces.

    If this were the case, it would need to be easier to group up with people in-game. I don't have internet friends to play PC games with, so I play DayZ alone. I don't have the time for clans etc either.

    It's inevitable really to get attached to stuff you worked hard to find. You can't really enjoy the game until you let go of the fear.

    You can play the game being a complete loner and not run into anyone if you're careful enough. In the past 2 weeks of playing I have honestly not seen a single other person (on full servers).

    I've still not actually run into anyone, even though I always play on full servers. For the first time today I hear gunshots nearby while I was cooking some meat, so I panicked and ran to a tree line. I was fully prepared to kill whoever it was if they came my way (out of fear), but saw no one.

    I'm sure they will make the forests more dangerous eventually. It's a shame though, it's the only place you can feel relatively safe as a solo player.

    I could never just leave my stuff lying around if I wasn't there. Just today I found and stole a bike someone thought was hidden in a bush (near the coast too). If only there was a more secure way for people to store loot and their vehicles, perhaps there will be one day.

    Jesus christ it's so easy. 1. Spawn. 2. Look at this map: http://dayzdb.com/map#4.109.055 3. Avoid all towns and head for nearest deer stands. 4. Get a weapon! How is this hard to do? This game really isn't that hard, you just have to get used to it.

    I understand your point OP, but just to pick at one remark. I bought Arma 2 for Day Z, and have since had hours of enjoyment from the Day Z Alpha, how exactly have I wasted my money?
