NEW ENCOUNTER ADDED OMG - SWAMP MONSTERS OMG WTF
Bravo-Two-Zero replied to ORiGiN Machinima's topic in DayZ Mod Gallery
The video was somewhat funny, but do you honestly need so many topics for that and keep bumping them every few hours? There is a difference between posting a funny video and just attention-whoring for more views. http://dayzmod.com/f...post__p__719561 http://dayzmod.com/f...mg/#entry694350 http://dayzmod.com/f...nsters-omg-wtf/ -
NEW ENCOUNTER ADDED OMG - SWAMP MONSTERS OMG WTF
Bravo-Two-Zero replied to ORiGiN Machinima's topic in DayZ Mod Gallery
I'm not so misinformed as you proclaim, perhaps I was a bit vague. Any normal admin can deal out a local server ban. Battleye only bans directly when a known cheat script was executed, but as we all know it is possible to bypass this so this is only effective against not very smart hackers. Then there is the hive administration which can deal out bans from the hive by blocking an account, these bans get synchronized and also act for all Dayz servers. Only a select few admins are streaming these bans. And yes, people have been banned in the past for using hacked weapons which are normally not in the game (like AS50 TWS or your friend's skin) without a script was detected. Everything has a full description, it is only not officially in Dayz (yet). If you ever encountered a Dayz developer you will notice they have other skins as well. -

Didn't read in the change log that a bandit skin was reintroduced, my bad. As for your friend, watch out for the first admin you'll encounter as he will get banned at first sight for using hacked gear, at least when an admin see's him. If he's lucky he gets only a local server ban, if he's less lucky his hive account gets banned or even his CD-key if the administrator is streaming bans to central server. -

Nice monsters, but can you explain the equipment your friend on the left has as well as your own "hood"? Unless you're playing on a private server separated from the hive it looks like someone hacked a skin in... -
Story of a 30 year old kid and his new Dayz server!
Bravo-Two-Zero replied to TrainwreckUS2114's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
As a 30 year old child adult you should know how to be patient. Vehicles were said to arrive at day 7 in the first place and you started to whine earlier about it while the customer support was actually very clear about the subject. Now it appears that there also is a problem with syncing the new servers and vehicles to the hive, but you should prepare or at least expect problems with an ALPHA STATUS MODIFICATION. You're server is about as unique as sand on a beach: be glad that the support team spent so much time in your two pointless tickets in the first place and just await until vehicles get added to your server, nothing will help accelerating this. -
If you don't even have a tiny interest in Arma 2 the game is definitely not for you. It's all about hard-core simulation which not everyone likes. If you're looking for a game that isn't Arma 2 than stay with CoD. For me, it's the best $80 I've spent on any game during my life. Arma has given me more than two years of multiplayer entertainment and still doesn't get boring, while I was bored with BF3 after 300 hours (same goes for Skyrim, MW 2, Bad Company 2 etc). Buy at your own peril and don't buy if you plan to keep a RL.

With 3 weapons you would hardly have any provisions or ammo, unless of course you have a way to restock easily (thank God for inventing scripts?). I'm done with this guy, hopefully he gets what he deserves.
-
Nothing new, except that also the noob-hackers can hide all scripts without having a brain thanks to that program.
-
Try again now joining the server ;).

That's the reason you were banned. I've lifted the ban for now and give you the benefit of the doubt and that BattlEye messed up somehow and kicks for fun.

Knock it off, like any of the last 5 replies (6 including this reply) actually contribute. Yeah, let's turn a good discussion into a troll party. -

Basically the question is how can admins prove a hacker is guilty. Simple answer: they can not. There is no way for any server admin to see if a hacking script was injected, if players teleport, if players kills everyone on server. If we would be able to detect this easily, than Battleye would as well and there wouldn't be a problem in the first place. The reason why server admins (count me in as well) ask for more room is because there are too many hackers which can not be contained and are ruining the servers for which we pay dearly. I can not 100% prove if a person is hacking, but I can prove he has odd weapons, he isn't streaming to the central Hive or anything else which doesn't add it. Basically to anything for a which a normal cheat report would be made, but as of right now nothing is being done even if you can report a cheater/hacker. Just give us the ability to do something about this ourselves instead. Yes, there will be asshole admins who shouldn't be an admin in the first place, but like said, people can report those assholes and play somewhere else while the majority will actually ensure their server is nice to play on for the majority of players. -
Hacking is getting out of control
Bravo-Two-Zero replied to Razzle Dazzle's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Hacking is already out of control. As an administrator the only effective way is looking at the direct chat and see who says anything about hacks, found already 10 people this way. Another problem is even if we report a hacker nothing is done with the logs here (last update of ban list is couple of weeks ago), and if Battleye catches a person he can just buy a new game key for $10. I'll just stop playing and move on with vanilla Arma 2 again. No point in spending any time to keep the server clean as well, simply no way whatsoever to administrate anything. Spending >$80 is not worth it. -
Pro tip: there is a search option. But yeah, too easy to find camps as map is not very large.

The main difference is in the speed, the normal STANAG round travels around ~900 m/s depending on the weapon, while the SD rounds travel at ~300 m/s depending on the weapon. The noise should only differ little, but a SD weapon should be more silent than a non-SD weapon with SD rounds, so if zombies don't get attracted by a non-SD weapon with SD rounds something obviously wrong, as the muzzle sound would be the largest sound source. The bullet itself would be more quiet, but that's not the main sound source. Oh, and as the type of bullet has a large influence on speed, the range drop will also be different for different types of ammo. So you may find weapons ill calibrated for a normal firing distance for an assault weapon (225 m / 300 m). I can't confirm nor deny that zombies don't get attracted by SD rounds in a non-SD weapon, one way to find out..
