    Looting locked home Pro/cons

I think the better loot, the more difficult it should be to access the building. Low-reward, residential buildings might just need a good door-bash or window break. High-reward buildings could have their own backup power supply and alarm system. Breaking in would set off the alarm alerting zeds and players. This would make every looting plan tense and time-constrained, allowing greater immersion and danger. The toolbox could double as a lockpicking or break & enter kit. You could also lock buildings back up, fooling other players into thinking it's unlooted, then ambush them once they come inside. The potential situations this feature could create are awesome. I'd definitely like to see this in DZSA. You have my beans sir.
  2. I agree, however I think having your own HUD change colour would be a nice subtle effect - nobody else has to see it or know what your disposition is (except perhaps in the regular servers). It'd also be a bit of fresh air after having this vomit green colour the entire time.
  3. I've seen the latest GUI updates and it gave me an idea. Perhaps the colour of the GUI could change based on your humanity? For example, a fresh survivor's GUI would be a pale green. If they do evil things and become a bandit, it will slowly morph to orange/red. If they're a goody-two-shoes and be a hero, it will slowly morph to blue or a brighter green. I remember when the GUI had an icon for humanity - instead of an icon, how about just plain text hinting at what kind of player you are? If anyone here has played TTT in Garry's Mod - it had a karma system where you had a title below your name when people looked at you which changed according to your karma, eg. "Dangerous, "Trigger-Happy", "Reputable", "Trustworthy". I propose a similar system for DayZ, where either you can see it on your HUD, or perhaps other players can see it when very close and looking right at you (along with your name). Speaking of TTT, another thing that springs to mind is body inspections. Currently, there is limited body inspection in DayZ - "His name was Shifty Pete, it appears he died from-" isn't good enough. Here's what I'd like: - His/Her name was [name]. - It appears he died from [reason] (Gunshot wounds (head/body), Melee wounds, Blood loss, Broken Limbs, Starvation, etc.) - It appears [weapon] was used to kill him (If applicable, eg. Stabbing/slashing weapon, .556 firearm, .45 firearm. Determinable by the bullet found on the corpse and bullet/stabbing wound.) - He died approximately [time from death] ago. (This can assist in determining if the area is still dangerous or not.) This is valuable information which would benefit gameplay greatly. Obviously you can't see this information at a glance, so it should take time to examine the corpse, giving anyone around a chance to sneak up on you. This was suggested more in-depth previously in another thread Finally, I suggest that survivors killed by zombies have a chance of re-animating as a zombie after a certain period of time - Not only would this help prevent players from sprinting to their corpse from spawn, grabbing all their loot and soldiering on like nothing happened - but it would also mix things up a bit. You could kill a zombie and have a pleasant surprise when he's got more supplies on him than usual. This would also give players in general more incentive to loot and inspect zombie corpses. Thank you for reading my suggestions.
  4. Server: AU 5 Time: ~9:23pm, GMT+10 What happened: Two friends and I were passing through North of Stary Sobor. One of them got shot by what sounded like an AS50, so we hit the dirt and hid behind the trees. Every time we peeked out, we were shot at. Eventually, we spotted him to the North-East, and my friend (who had an ordinary AS50) managed to kill him. (We saw in chat that -Ark- TH3 UN533N was killed). I knew him, he was one of the admins on the server, so went on to their teamspeak and taunted him. I traveled over his body and discovered he in fact was using an AS50 TWS. I studied the body, quickly went into the gear menu and took a screenshot: Here is the conversation in teamspeak (He accuses me of having an AS50 TWS myself, showing me some kind of log. Keep in mind, I never picked up the weapon, or have ever had one, the log is obviously forged.) The administration of AU 5, that -Ark- clan, seem really damn shady. They've mentioned a whole lot of stuff that's against the rules over the course of me being in the server + teamspeak. I won't bother though, i know my word alone is not enough to prove anything. Well anyway, here's a post i made a while ago about the shady admins, the hacked in weapon just confirms it.
  5. Oh god , I wish i was there with my Mk48 and grenades. Oh man, that would've been brilliant.
  6. First time I found nightvision, the three of us were crouch-walking through Rogovo and we got capped, in the pitch black of night. We assumed the town would be empty. I bet Mr. Sniper was happy.

    Helicopters removed?

Damn, that sucks. I don't suppose there are any plans for them to be re-enabled? :(

    Helicopters removed?

I've heard rumours that the UH-1 Huey was removed from DayZ? We've been searching for one for weeks and have found bugger all (Not surprising considering how rare they are, though), Have they been removed or not?

    L85A2 AWS/Ghillie Missing.

The L85 in our tent has gone completely, and the one in my backpack has shrunk itself to one slot? What? I'm scared to do anything with it. Rocket, has the L85 been removed or something? I didn't see that in the changelog.

    Tents still duping/losing items 1.7.1.5

I've had quite a lot of vanishing/duplication bugs related to placing items in tents/people's backpacks, re-logging in and out and having either no items or double. For instance, I put my NVG's in my friend's backpack while i went to loot the NW airfield. I also took out his tent. Looted the North Barracks, popped a couple of dudes, came back and exchanged our gear. I noticed that my debug monitor had disappeared, so i re-logged, and my nightvision was gone, and we both had a tent each, and my murders were reset? What? Also had duplication bugs when changing clothing very fast, the option just stays there, you spam click it, realize something must be wrong with your connection and re-log, then you come back and there's a dead body of yourself there with all the same loot. Strange.

Classes in DayZ (let the shitstorm commence)

I like the idea of your character spawning with items related to his previous job, have a small chance of spawning with items eg. A fireman spawns with a hatchet and a fireman suit Police Officer spawns with a makarov and police suit Hobo spawns with empty vodka bottles

I KNOW you're an exploiter if you disagree

How about have a confirmation box before you logout if you're bleeding that lets you know?

I KNOW you're an exploiter if you disagree

You can't stop people from logging out/Alt+F4ing, but you could have it leave them in the game for about 30 seconds after they disconnect, and they can't join any server again until the timer is up.
