Gonna go OT here for a sec... This is why the humanity system is broken. Let's assume he did only kill snipers in electro-gorsk. Let's also assume they were actively sniping people, but not yet bandits. He kills the sniper, loses humanity.... But what about the people he saved/protected? Where is the positive humanity?

hmm, lets see.... In three months of playing i have killed, roughly, 14 players. Of those 14 I'd say about half were at NWAF. Two or three at stary. One sniper in elektro. The others I can't recall. Now, as for how I get my lolz, I spend plenty of time on the coast handing out supplies and helping new survivors. If the person is new I offer to team up with them for a bit to get them introduced to the game. Hell, If I have the time I generally team up with almost anyone. I recently got a car again and am socking it up with basic goodies like maps, compasses, knives, canteens, food, etc. Plan to offer a taxi service for fresh spawns to anywhere in Chernarus. Quite frankly, its very easy to become a bandit just trying to defend yourself. Don't try to claim that if you get shot, you can kill without consequence. If you get shot, you die. Near misses do not activate this protection. Also, when somebody is running at me, I'm yelling AND typing to stay back, and they keep coming..... I'll kill em every time. I agree, but I really don't have great ideas. I think a system where players you come into close contact with can give you positive points would be nice. I think simply giving transfusions, etc., is way to easy to spam with friends to obtain the hreo skin. As for the bandit skin, defending yourself => bandit. See above for examples. -

Just a quick poll to see how common some of the sound problems I've been getting are among other people. I'll be putting up a more detailed post with my particular information in the help section later today. Basically my issues are, 1) Sometimes my gun does not produce a sound when I fire it. I do hear the bullet noise and impact on target, but the gun itself never makes a noise. It's happened to me with several guns, currently using an M14. I do believe it still attracts zeds though, and is probably audible to other players. My guess is some kind of client side problem. It comes and goes. Might be related to getting hit by zeds, but it has also occurred without being hit first. (ie. joined server, used gun on zeds from distance, was never hit) 2) Some directions are completely inaudible to me. This maybe be related to surround sound, sorta fixed it by switching my headphones to stereo. For instance if a person is right in front/behind me I can't hear them in Direct Comms. If the are to either side I can hear them perfectly. It fades out as I turn towards them. Seems to also apply to gunshots and zed noise. 3) Sometimes I can't hear gunshots that my buddies standing right next to me can hear. Might be related to 2), but by switching to stereo mode I fixed those issues. at least I think they are fixed. Could also be related to 1) if that bug can affect other players guns, at least on my client. Well, that's that. Anyone else have these/other issues? EDIT: May as well give basic info now. I can look up specifics at home later. Sound effects and comms are maxed. Are there any advanced setting I might have overlooked? Using a G35 headset. The switch is on stereo for now. Drivers may be outta date.

Perfect timing with that quote. I see OP's point. It is valid. Slight OT, I'd love to see a hatchet added to the game. Not the 2 handed axe we currently have. A small, one handed, hatchet. Equipable to the pistol slot. Maybe 2-3 hits per zed. Would be a nice stop-gap fix to the OP's example. -

Ok, so like I said earlier, I've got a grievance that you haven't addressed yet. Preface, my numbers are pulled out of my ass, but my point is solid. Numbers only serve to illustrate my point, which I believe anyone with real shooting experience will agree with. Simply put, I feel that there is no way in hell you could expect to find a sniper rifle lying on the ground during a zombie apocalypse that would be pin point accurate at 500m+ etc...... Even more unbelievable to recover one from a crashed helicopter that is pinpoint accurate. You would reasonably expect that the scope is not dead on. Bumping the scope fractions of a millimeter out of position would send rounds ~30m off target at long ranges. Not to mention the time and effort it takes to make a rifle accurate and maintain that accuracy at those ranges...... As it stands, if you find a sniper rifle, all you need to do is account for bullet drop and you are a practically Annie Oakley..... Maybe its just a limitation of the game..... but these perfectly accurate rifles bug me.... IMO, it would be nice to see some error in them correctable of course. If you want a good rifle, take the time to sight it in. As far as non-sniper rifles.... iron sights are rather hard to screw up most of the time. The guns with optics however would be vulnerable to the same problems of scoped rifles, to a lesser degree since they are inherently not designed for such a level of accuracy. I wouldn't mind if the same principles were applied to anything with attached optics. Instead of simply acquiring a weapon with great sights, you would need to put a little time in getting it set up properly. ZedsDeadBaby, if you wouldn't mind giving this some consideration I'd like to hear your opinion. Mind you, I understand there are limitations to what is feasible/fun for a game. Probably why I have little expectation of this going into the game at any point, but its still a slight peeve to me. Wind would be a nice addition to raise the skill ceiling on sniper rifles too. -

Your bus is lootable. Get in the back. Then try. Or open your map. Go to the units tab on the left side. The on the righish side you will see an option called gear. -
Survivor - one who continues to exist. Etc. Bandit - robber, an outlaw who lives by plunder. Xenophobe - one who fears or hates strangers. Murderer - one who kills other human beings. That said, I've yet to meet a survivor who was a bandit, but I've met plenty of xenophobic murderers! :) FYI for the slow. Just pointing out a misnomer.

If you are really curious, I'm certain the devs can tell how many of the nearly 100k unique players have actually logged in in the last week/month. I doubt that well ever see that information, be it good or bad. -
M14 is a great all around gun. Currently have an m4 cco sd, enjoying it thourghly.
