5 mins max?! You guys are crazy. The vast majorit of servers are about 45-60 seconds with a the odd one taking about 20-30 sec. Not sure if it's a server side problem or not. I'm running two HD's in Raid 0 so that probably helps a little.

You've got some options when it comes to cities. Like a previous poster mentioned, don't get tunnel vision. - Be aware of a few building that are lootable and assess which ones you can approach. - As long as zombies aren't looking in your direction you can safely crouch run. - The man option is to sprint and agro all the zombies you can see, sprint to a building that has a front and back door; when you get inside just crouch run out the back to lose them all. With deer stands the zombies tend to spread put after 20-30 secs so just hold off, pay attention to which way they're facing and make a sensible approach. If you're agro'd out in the wilderness or at deer stands try crouch running through a few of the big green fir trees. It works almost overtime. Above all, have patience. Once you've got a feel for how the zombies react to you, you'll be losing them like a boss. Good luck dude, hope some of the helps. Peace

God what's wrong with everyone these days? Nobody wants any risk, hate the people who've risked their lives before them and despise anyone with better gear. I'm one of the sniper. I'll AS50 til I die. Did it just appear in my hands one day? No, i risked my ass at the airfield and narrowly got away. I'll shoot anyone i see in the vicinity or anyone who looks like they pose a threat. When any survivor can be running around 'unarmed' with a gun in their pack it just isn't worth the risk. I've played countless FPS's over the years as i'm sure we all have and this one is not typical in the slightest. It's massive, terrifying and immersive. When the people who don't like dayz learn to slip off in to the night and stop playing?

Who cares about the walks? It's good exercise and I love being in the great outdoors. I don't believe 90% of deer stands have been looted just before I got there. Doesn't matter how far I watch them from to ensure nobody else approaches or how long I wait; loot generally doesn't spawn for me at stands.

Loot farming? Thanks, but no thanks. Doesn't really work if there's no loot int he first place. And we're not just talking about piles of cans here. There is literally no loot at all sometimes. I've pretty much always experienced this with deerstands; I'm positive the game just doesn't spawn loot for me as 9/10 stands i visit are completely empty. It's definitely beyond bad luck and in to bug/network territory.

I can confirm this too. Spawned East of Elektro, ran the 5mins to the supermarkets and medium residential buildings. Nothing in them. Not a single item in any of them, not even tin cans. There were definitely geeks spawning though. Waited 10mins and then ran through them again to still find nothing. It's funny though, whenever i mention that there's no loot spawning I get accused of server hopping :)

Well i'm not ashamed to admit that i'm one of the ruthless murderers who roams the map listening endlessly for the distant gun shots of careless players. I'm usually out on my own. I normally follow a target for 20-30mins to see where they're going, but when the time comes I drop them. I generally kill everyone I see. Forgetting the laws and rules of society, why i wouldn't I stay safe and alive, and kill other threats? Survivors/Bandits draw out zombies and other players. I like my claimed area to be safe so i will always kill any threat. I like you survivors though. Sometimes when i'm stalking an organised group of 3 or 4 i often think of myself as the Forever Alone troll face meme. Peace

A sniper crawled up beside me yesterday and didn't know i was there. I shot square in the face with an Enfield and even though he went down he must have dc'd to die on another server cause there was no body, but the flies sound remained. I hope they fix it soon, some places in town are deafeningly loud with flies at the mo. Peace

Absolutely I think what a lot of people seem to be doing is once they've been shot/go down, they server hop to die on another server. That way they can almost guarantee their body's still there. It's frowned upon though I reckon

I feel your pain. I've been forced in to killing/avoiding every player i meet. I've tried typing, voice chat, approaching with my gun down, saluting and nothing works. Each time i've attempted to make contact i get killed or have to retreat. It's hard making friends or co-existing with other players now. Until there's a universal 'greeting' i'm sticking to killing. It's better i'm alive than them :)

Hey dude, I'm in Edinburgh and also looking for a group. Not sure if i'm looking for anything too big, but times are changing and you definitel need friends in this game i reckon. I'm completely ungeared at the moment, got killed by a hacker in a BMP yesterday, but gonna be on over the next few days to stock up again. This is getting crazy, my second cheat reporting thread in the last hour. I have fraps installed this time so managed to get a screen. Playing on 'Dayz - ARB' hosted by HFBServers After being killed by some hacker in a BMP i joined this server. I'm not sure where I spawned because I was overwhelmed by 2 A10 Warthogs parked near the beach. This is getting silly... Hi All, I'm playing on DE - 93 hosted by Hq1para.org This just happened 5mins ago max. Was in cherno getting up to no good, when a BMP came round the corner and killed me with its main weapon. The player driving it was Ali G. Is there anyway to find who - if not Ali G - brought this in to the game and get them perma banned? Unfortunately I can't seem to find a 'screenshot key' in arma and when i pressed 'print screen' it just took an image of my desktop. Really frustrating as I just got my first M16 since I started playing. Peace
