Bump.

I had just spawned in Cherno. I only had an M1911 and was heading out of town. Suddenly I hear some guy start shooting at me from over a hundred meters away with a Winchester. I started weaving around and taunting him via my mic. This made him mad and he started chasing me. He didn't land a single shot and eventually ran out of ammo. He started to run like the coward he was for shooting someone in the back like that. I decided to return the favour and shot him several times with the M1911. I heard his leg break and he passed out only to start getting eaten by the zombies he had attracted with his shots. I started to taunt him again over my mic but he ALT-F4d. I didn't bother to wait until he logged back in as he was screwed anyway. Another was today when I was feeling a little bit giddy. I was running around unarmed and saw some guy crouching in a town with a Winchester. I ran up behind him and started screaming crazy shit and gibberish via the mic. I think he shit his pants as he turned around and popped a couple shots off and completely missed me. He then stood up and ran. The poor guy ran until he was out of view without looking back It made me laugh so hard.

Nope. I will take what I want and be on my way. Although if I know the guys whose tents they are are assholes I will destroy them and maybe leave a coule bear traps around for good measure. If I don't know them I'll just rob them and leave.

Looking for some guys in the EU to play some DayZ with. No offence to Americans, I just have trouble finding a server where we both have good ping. Been playing for about 3 months in total and have found, repaired and driven just about every vehicle as well as finding and using every gun. I know the map well. I'm a very patient player and prefer to hold back and take it easy rather than rush in all guns blazing. Used to play with my friend but he doesn't play anymore and it's just not the same solo. Especially now that everyone KoS and it's no fun working so hard to get great gear and a great vehicle only to lose it an hour later. So yeah, I'm mature, patient, skilled and able to have a laugh. Would prefer 18+ players. I'd also like to note that I'm not looking for anything super serious or some guys who will crucify me if I don't make it on one day. More info Age - 21 Location - UK Mic - Of course Favourite role - Assault or rifleman, or sniper. I'm not the greatest sniper but I am learning. Attitude towards other players - I kill bandits on sight most of the time unless they tell me over mic that they are friendly, I don't shoot plain clothed people on sight UNLESS they have something I want or they shoot at me first and I never kill unarmed players

You're getting too attached to your gear. Of course the game is going to be boring if you avoid trying to find vehicles, players and avoid any confrontation at all -_-

Sounds like something out of a movie. Why can't I ever find populated night servers...

I figured I'd make this thread so we can all discuss and share our day in DayZ. Could make for some funny an interesting chat. My day went as followed - I started out fresh on a new server and got myself some nice new gear. I kept seeing some chopper flying around but had no idea where it was going. I decided to head to the nearby factory and low and behold there was the chopper on top of the factory with what looked like 3 guys running around. 1 in a bandit outfit, 1 in normal clothing and 1 in camo. I waited it out and they eventually flew off. I crawled (fucking zombies surrounding me) as fast as I could into their base and looked around but couldn't find anything on the bottom floor. I then heard the chopper coming back. I knew if I had run out of the base I would have been shot as it's surrounded by open land, so I hid in a corner and waited. After 5 minutes ofn othing and still hearing the chopper running I figured they must be on the roof so I slowly started heading up there. Turns out they were hovering above the base and started raining death upon me as I came into sight killing me. They knew I was there because they saw the spawned zombies -_- I respawned and got myself some gear in the towns before heading inland. I looked everywhere for chopper crashes and vehicles to no avail. I decided to head to Devil's castle and I almost had a heart attack when I saw a almost perfect chopper right in the middle. Turns out it had no fuel and needed a rotary assembly. I headed out to the nearby towns but nothing. After 30 minutes of searching I was getting bored but then I saw a British police car (server side vehicle possibly?)Inside of it I found FN FAL with NV. Unfortunately it was stuck so I left it and headed to the next town. As I was sneaking around behind a house I heard a car coming down the road. I hid and it passed me and stopped about 50m further down. I snuck up on it and couldn't see the driver anywhere. I looked around for a while and still couldn't see him. I then closed in on the car and saw him crouching in the doorway of a house pointing his M16 in my direction. He knew I was there! I stayed behind the house as I knew he'd hear my footsteps If I got closer. I had no intentions of killing him, only taking his car. He also had normal clothing on, so wasn't a bandit which made me trust him a little more. I hadn't got my mic on so couldn't communicate with him whichwas my downfall. A moment later he had disappeared from the doorway, I didn't bother to check to the right of the house as I didn't think he'd be stupid enough to run out of the house and come towards me like that as I SHOULD have easily heard him. Next thing I know I have 5 bullets in my back. He actually came around the back. No idea how he did it so fast. No chance that he crawled or rolled in such a small amount of time and I didn't hear him walking. Moral of the story: Trust no one unless you can speak to them via mic. >:(

The SA might not be out for another few months. You could get it to get in some practice. You could also just use Arma 2 free if you're short on funds. As for a mic, I'd say it is a lot better with it. You can team up with people a lot easier, not get shot as easily, communicate with people easier and just generally make it more fun and less tedious. You can get a really cheap headset for next to nothing.

I'm not so much a bandit, I just have no problems shooting people if need be or for my personal gain :) Well, the thing that makes me be able to kill people without giving a fuck is that most people are assholes. Example: yesterday I saw some Russian guy (should have instantly killed him) who was unarmed. He was talking to me in Russian and using lot's of ))))))). Anyway, I didn't kill him and 15 minutes later I was wandering around the fire station in Elektro and the fucker shoots me in the back without saying a word.

I came back to the game after 3 months and have seen a ton of hackers in the past 2 days. I had the EXACT same hacke as the OP in a server yesterday, some guy spawn killing with an AS50 thermal, some guy spawning in massive aircraft carriers and other buildings, some guy stood in a field with a crate of weapons who then gave them out and started spawning heli's, some guy insta-killing everyone. I was also on a server which had a popup whenever it kicked someone for hacking and what hack etc. It was playing every few minutes at times. Hackers seem to be so, so, so much worse than they were a few months ago. I asked my friend who I was playing with at the time and he says he can't even remember running into any hackers back then. The guys above are just the ones I remember.

I agree, it's so much more atmospheric and immersive. It also looks a lot better graphically, it's just a pity people don't play at night, or very few, at least.
