Apparently parody isn't a word in your vocabulary. Maybe when you are close to the military bases, but out in the middle of nowhere where these videos were taken its just holding "w" while watching tv lol

People are judged by the company they keep, if you hang out with hackers then your legitimacy as a player comes into question. Don't act like you really care what happens to people affected by hackers you play with and then immediately dismiss any wrong doing on your part by telling people to "move on". Black out your info if hackers are that big of a problem, or refuse to play along side them. Its that simple. -

Zombies in 1.7.2.3 are really iffy. Some wont aggro even if you run up and asstag them, others will smell you a mile away and meet you halfway -

imo there should only be littlebirds and mi-17 choppers. Choppers with guns are a little over the top for this kind of game. -

I posted my replies then saw the person of me post the video, so I went and watched and here is what I gather: 2.He had talked about being able to add secutiry systems designed by the user which could be hacked by other users so I'm thinking it wouldn't be instanced per player. 6. Like I said in number 2 he talked about adding security systems, possibly ones that could be programmed in game by the user which other users could actually hack into and disable. 7. He said it was easy to do the actual underground part, but he didn't want to implement it until he could also add some of the other features he was looking at to go along with these underground bases.

I will freely admit, im a noob and I love 3rd person =) I hate the headbob of first person, but i wont lie and act like i dont also use it to look around corners lol If you pause the video at 56seconds he didnt have either in his inventory. I didn't check the coyote pack, but why would someone keep those in a backpack instead of the free slots in the inventory? Like Daedrick said, I was itchin to get the hell out of there, didn't know if his buddy was circling around on another server to get the jump on me and I really wanted to get that vehicle somewhere safe lol. -
Heres my speculation to some of your questions, take them as you will: 1. I highly doubt they will be allowed to be too big. Barring any significant improvement to the Arma engine or move to a standalone platform, the server strain for unlimited size of these bases would be pretty extreme. 2. I would imagine they would be instanced to the server, as in they dont carry over with your character and gear. 3. Following rockets choices in the past involving player interaction, I would assume he would favor a model that allowed people to mess with your stuff. He want's this to be an anti-game experiment, and most "games" safeguard against players dicking each other over with things like gear. 4. I would like to think it would work as more of a tunneling system than a "click and place a large room" type interface. With tunneling you can make rooms, but it also doesn't attempt to adjust an enormous amount of assets all at once which would be a stability concern. 5. Probably wont be any built in storage, but I'm guessing he will allow things like tents and any other future player made storage. 6. I sincerely doubt there will be any "doors". Like I said in #3 it would contradict his stated plan for this mod, but who knows; he could decide to take it in a new direction by the time this comes about. 7. Probably standalone or with arma3. Arma2 has a hard enough time just getting the basics to work, mainly because as rocket has stated before the game is "...a hack on top of a hack of the game..."

When you simplify a game to its base parts of course it sounds boring. But the game is more than the sum of its parts, especially when you consider there are other people thrown in the mix. The fun is increased exponentially when you play with multiple people and make your own objectives. I'm not saying you aren't legitimately bored or that your friends weren't, but to quote a great man: -

Except thats not the point of alpha. Its super easy to survive. We are supposed to be testing new features and interacting with the new builds as much as possible to find these killer bugs that will ruin the experience of the live game. If you want to keep on living in the woods then go ahead, but dont take up space on the forums each build asking if its "safe" to move your waste of a server spot over to a new build. -

If you are worried about dying you aren't doing it right. Go do wacky things with new features and figure out bugs and report them here when you die. No one is impressed by "47 day old", rather we are all rolling our eyes at you because you are just taking up space. -
afaik these are the only legitimate skins in the game (ghillie is obviously missing): If there are more legitimate skins than this, please provide a source so I can educate my self, otherwise Im assuming the guy i met was a hacker.

You guys want this game to be way too easy, I want this to be hardcore only hachets, knifes, and crowbars. Face it how many people have guns only people in the military and gang members. If you have proof of anyone that isn't associated with the above owning a gun please prove me wrong. ;) 3 of my close friends collect guns, and when i showed them the guns in the game they listed at least 10 guns between them that they owned. Are they the exception? maybe. But gun scarcity isn't as big as you think if you don't live in a major metropolitan area. -

Rocket said he wants this game to be about emotions, about interaction, about how people survive, die, kill together. We are here to experiment with those things in the alpha, one of those experiments was a military grade sniper rifle. Was it fun to kill people without them even knowing you were there? HELL YES. Was it fun for them to get killed that way? HELL NO. Do either of those things matter? NOT EVEN A LITTLE BIT. When you look at any item you need to ask yourself, "1.How does this promote interaction that generates emotion between players? 2.Is that emotion connected or disconnected? 3.Is that emotion biased or shared? 4.Does that emotion promote further emotion generating actions?" With the rifle that was removed lets ask those questions: 1. Long range engagements will provoke a high tension experience for the sniper as a missed shot will alert the prey to his presence, thus adding a medium risk/high reward scenario. The prey is unaware of any emotion related to the threat until said threat has been revealed. 2.Any emotions are disconnected until such a time as the first shot is fired. Emotions will be connected through the duration of the engagement which will be short lived in most cases (death of the prey or escape). 3. The emotions are mostly biased to the sniper, as any emotion felt by the prey is very low until the sniper reveals himself. After such a time the emotions may equalize depending on the skill level of the prey and the sniper. 4. In most scenarios the prey will either be killed or escape the encounter without hunting for the sniper, thus ending any immediate emotional experiences. There is a small chance of further experiences if the prey should seek out the sniper, but this is not the majority of the cases. Now ask yourself truthfully, does this item provide a wealth of potential emotional experiences or is it a stunted one way emotional channel that is biased to the holder? -

short answer: no long answer: Those other passworded servers are breaking the rules and just havent been blacklisted by hive yet. And when you get blacklisted its impossible to run the game. -

How about rocket focus on fixing performance and mechanics instead of trying to balance pvp in the ALPHA. Before you call me an alt-f4 jockey, just remember that things like this are on the backburner while he gets features added and stabilizes builds around much harder to fix things. Does it suck when someone alt-f4's when you deserve the kill? hell yes. But it doesnt affect playability so its not a priority.
