    Target identification and an idea for a new group

    Sounds racist lol. It is actually the best idea I have heard so far. I suggested being able to customize your appearance more in the suggestion section; but for the time being with current game mechanics, this is the way to go.

    Broken Legs (again)

    I am not a fan of the broken leg system either, but really love the fact they are trying something like this. Something like this makes the game really interesting, but lets be honest no matter what (broken leg, torn ACL ect) it won't be realistic and I am ok with that. Different injuries would be cool, popped shoulder, broken ribs, broken arm, leg, nose ect. I am a fan of it healing over time, not instantly. So you use your morphine and splint and it speeds up that time, instead of bam healed. Either way they do it I want it to stay in the game, it is unique. Just hope it gets a little better. Falling from a tree stand should rarely break my leg, maybe I twist an ankle or something.

    Populated NPC military base

    I don't think we will be seeing NPCs in this game and like it that way. I do think more PvE would be great though. Places that you can only get to / survive if you have certain gear. An underground bunker with poison gas requiring a gas mask, a cave system with no light using flashlights and flairs required, an air craft carrier that you need a boat/helo to get to, an underwater/sunken sub that requires scuba gear and a boat to access; all with lots of zeds, maybe zeds with body armor to make them a little tougher.

    I like the idea some one else (maybe you) had about an underground military complex with certain areas filled with a mist/gas that requires a gas mask to enter. High level loot in there. Anything to make the environment a larger threat as well.

    Why aren't bandits ALWAYS bandits?

    The term Bandit really means nothing. It is just a phrase that was coined. Really everyone has some bandit in them. If you ever killed another player and took even 1 item off of them you are a "bandit". If you ever took stuff off the floor, or a tent or a vehicle that was not yours, you are a bandit.

    I am not sure how you could (game mechanics wise) pull off mental disorders. The other stuff you could though. It would be cool if each bad thing you gave your character gave you a bonus in return. Oh man you got diabetes? Well it's ok because you are a great athlete and run much faster than others. Addicted to cigarettes? It's ok because you don't need food as much. I actually think it would be cool, if this were a deeper game with more RPG elements, to give everyone some kind of bad habit or addiction or dependency related thing. Cigarettes, alcohol, chewing tobacco, diabetes, hypoglycemia, scared of the dark, can't swim, contacts/glasses, asthma ect.
  8. Ok, I am just wondering what makes the servers different that MMORPG games use vs what FPS games use? Example. Why in Star Wars Galaxy could they have 100s+ players on 1 server with pretty much no issues and the land mass was massive. But FPS games can only have <70 generally and they have problems?

    Dreams of S.T.A.L.K.E.R

    Love STALKER, playing the Priboi Story mod now. Awesome world and awesome game. There are some things from there I wish we had here, but that goes both ways.

    Weapon attachments/ Weapon Parts

    I don't know about the weapon parts thing. It really just does not make much sense. Why would random parts be all over and no full weapons? I think maybe if they added in weapon wear and tear and you could just replace certain parts, that would work. I love the attachments parts though. No M203s in the game, but M16s and launcher attachments. No silenced weapons, but instead silencers that you can attach to weapons. Mount scopes and acogs/redots, NVG, Thermal scopes to any weapon with the right rail/rings ect.

    Sanctuary in Chernogorsk - A New Hope

    I like this idea a lot and think it would be cool. Realistically holding the city for a long period of time would be impossible, but even if you just held it for a weekend or a saturday I think it would be pretty epic. Get the Freeside Trading company on board so they can set up a trading post. Maybe contact some of the medical clans to set up a clinic to treat injured players ect. Would be awesome. You asked for feedback on the planning aspect, well here is what I would do with this idea. Forget Cherno. I would take Kabanino. Pros -It is in between Stary Sobor and the NW Airfield, which are two hot spots for looting. It would give a reason for people to WANT to hold it. - It has a water pump -The church could be used as either you clinic of HQ. -The three deer stands to the south could be great lookout points. -The first town in each direction has a fuel source. What I would do. I would hook up with Freeside Trading Co. and hold a trade depot every Saturday and Sunday (hours dependent on man power). I would make use of every building there. Have each one assigned as something. I would make sure we had at least 4 thermal sites. This is the fastest/best way to spot incoming traffic. Tell everyone to come into town with weapons holstered at the first barricade or they will be shot. 1 house would be the "slaughter house". Have several guards assigned as runners. They would run around the town aggroing any zeds that pop up and lead them to the slaughter house. In the SH there would be a minor medical staff and people armed with hatchets to take out the zeds and conserve ammo. Of course if they get overwhelmed switch to weapons. Trading post is a must. That close to NWAF and SS plenty of high end loot would come in. Your hard working guards could take some time off to make loot runs for themselves. Medical Clinic would be a must as well. Have to heal the troops. Also they could have an ambulance crew that would go out to make rescues. Anyone dies in town save their stuff until their return.

    I didn't read this entire thread because it seemed to be a lot of bickering and thus this post will probably get over looked, BUT from what I understand these are the rules hosts must go by. - Their are only two reasons why you, as a server owner, should ban a player on your server. Those two reasons are: Malicious talk, and racism. You may not ban a user for stealing your loot, killing you, spying on you, etc. - You may only kick for disruptive behavior (such as continued VOIP over side channel). But you may not kick due to race or language or because the person does something you do not like. - Kicking for extremely excessive ping or desync is permitted, but if abused is grounds for blacklisting

    No wonder people hack the free game that they are supposed to be testing? This is alpha. You are playing because they need to live test the game to make fixes. Report what went wrong and move on. PS- Don't look at rabbits.

    Any rifle in the hands of a sniper is a sniper rifle. So are you wanting all rifles out of the game?
