Zombie aggro appears to be unavoidable now, regardless of how stealthy one tries to be. I don't see any way to get a weapon now, besides sheer luck. -
Don't Bother Buying 2nd Copy of Arma 2

I don't want to run two characters, though that should be my prerogative to decide that for myself. Never heard of LAN gaming? Never heard of roommates? -
HOW TO: Multiple computers on the same connection.

I'm so glad to troll hear that your troll setup is working troll flawlessly without any troll effort on your troll. I mean part. -
Don't Bother Buying 2nd Copy of Arma 2 to play multi-player with 2 or more accounts at the same location. It won't work. When you attempt to login the second account, the server will kick you off and the other account receives a warning in red text "Illegal copies may degrade." Well, I find it insulting that you would falsely accuse me of piracy and deny me use of the software I PAID FOR. When you threaten me, I take it as a threat. Don't threaten me. Fix your multi-player game, or refund my money.

You were kicked from the game. (Not every server)

Multiple connections from the same IP (same house), all using separate Steam accounts with separately purchased LEGAL COPIES of Arma 2: Combined Operations, result in "You were kicked" and the remaining connected account receives a red text warning: "Illegal copies may degrade". This makes me extremely angry, since I can't play with my friend in multiplayer here, the REASON I BOUGHT ANOTHER COPY, and since these are NOT ILLEGAL COPIES. -

I found the Launch Options in Six-Launcher's Options menu, however "port=2310" results in one account being kicked from the server and the other receiving the warning "Illegal copies may degrade", to essentially no effect. When attempting the same config, substituting "-port=2310" instead of "port=2310" the launcher hangs at "Wait for Host" on black screen, and never achieves a server connection. -
Anyway to have multiple accounts?

If you won't let me connect with my second PAID LEGAL STEAM COPY tied to its own separate Steam account, then give me my money back. And quit threatening to "degrade" my illegal copy, because it is NOT AN ILLEGAL COPY. -
20 words or less: Spawning without a weapon

I have watched dozens of hours of video, particularly by youtuber PsiSyndicate, without which I would surely have little understanding how the game works. Still, I am incredulous that anyone has ever survived long enough to locate a weapon of any kind. I certainly have not yet solved, even momentarily, the total defenselessness problem. And since I don't have the luxury of loafing about the house all day, I have to play on a really high-latency server or "learn my way around" in pitch darkness. The flashlight would be more useful if one could simply hurl it at a zombie. Despite having this seemingly awesome advantage of a rough idea how the inventory system works, gleaned from watching the aforementioned videos, I have still not yet survived long enough to find enough loot to gain any first-hand understanding of it. I understand that you're supposed to be able to run around from loot cache to loot cache with a train of dim-witted rotters in tow, but that requires not only knowing where those caches are, but also knowing which buildings aren't fake (lacking interiors), or worse, the hybrid dead-end deathtraps with hollow front doorways and no interiors. It also requires not only understanding how to use the inventory system, but how to use it with extreme urgency. Kiting zombies also requires knowing how they will behave, understanding the mob's limitations and those of the player. I don't think new players stand much of a chance of gaining any traction on this learning curve as the mod stands. If you want to make it even more difficult to play, you could just make the launcher crash directly. -
As a new player, This mod is so difficult its un-playable.

I was digging the game last week. Now it is nearly impossible to find any sort of weapon before being eaten by zombies. The inventory system is a big learning curve that many players will not even live long enough to figure out before quitting in frustration. Is a new player really expected to run full speed around a map loaded with fake buildings that you can easily die trying to enter, and check a bunch of locations they don't yet know, for items they don't yet know how to manage, in order to fend off a train of zombies they don't yet know how to fight, using weapons they don't yet know how to use, IF they are lucky enough to find one? Never being able to find a daytime server with a ping of under 300 is also problem, as total lack of visibility at night makes the aforementioned learning curve approach the asymptotic. If you want to really make the game difficult to play, why not just make the launcher crash? -
My first hands-on experience with DayZ

I am incredulous that anyone has ever lived long enough to find a weapon of any kind. Stumbling around in the pitch darkness, with or without a useless flashlight, and always getting murdered by zombies without ever finding a weapon, is not actually any fun at all. I was enjoying the game when I bought Arma 2 last week. Now it is almost impossible to play at all.
