Yes. It was put in use after WW2 and used until the deployment of the RPO-A Shmel in the 1980s.

New weapon confirmed? VSS Vintorez
stielhandgranate replied to thedogfoodyayho's topic in General Discussion
You keep on thinking "these are a specific Russian surplus AKM and AK-74 that never had an accessory rail" and pretending Russia sent it's most ill equipped and outdated forces to Chernarus during Harvest Red when in ArmA 2, when the forces depicted were well equipped. What you advocate for offers noting of value to the game experience in while trying to sell it as "authentic". Russian troops often take PGO-7 sights designed for RPGs and work them with 5.45 guns as well as PSO-1 scopes or even buy aftermarket parts for their issued guns. This should be allowed in game as well and is quite realistic. -
Bumping this thread after seeing this, the LPO-50: Heavy, COMBLOC, Shoots fire.

You keep mentioning socks when we're talking about guns. I don't see any advantage to your idea of "remove all customization, give all optics to sniper rifles". Sounds like easy mode for the sniper crowd and deletes a feature that allows players to personalize their kit. Should all M4A1s start with M68s or ACOGs, RIS handguards, and AN/PEQ-15s? There isn't even any certainty that these AKMs and AK-74s are Russian in origin and not East German or Ukrainian, or some side rail built model. -

Even ArmA 2 had side rail equipped AK-74s. They were even common issue in the Soviet Afgan war. Devs made a good call having accessory rails, get over it. -

If they add in the VAL, it might be a gun you can stow in a bag like the AKS-74u seeing how it has a short profile and a folding stock. People like the weapon from the cult game, STALKER. Nothing wrong with that, I like the game and have a fondness for the weapon. As for AR pattern rifles I'm sure they'll be in, expect people to whine about how they shouldn't be in "Russia", that is many people still think the game is set in Russia. -
We can now potentially see the VAL and Groza. I'm thinking the ammo might be rare event loot. Life is good.

They really need an opening that describes what Chernarus is and how it was it's own country with civil war, NATO and Russian intervention before the outbreak. So many times to I read from people that deduct "well Chernarus kind of sounds like Russia, so it must be Russia".

the reaction to mass amounts of zeds worry me
stielhandgranate replied to gannon46's topic in General Discussion
Are they really shutting down threads that mention H1Z1? Anyway zombie hordes, if done right and not carbon copied from the mod will be very welcoming. I want to see snipers have undead from 60 meters swarm their nest after taking a shot at someone being sneaky in a town, small groups temporally culling zombie hordes from spawning after dumping hundreds of rounds an dropping dozens zombies collectively. In the mod days it was very frustrating having hordes auto target you after M107 fire took place because you were the nearest player to them while the sniper firing at you was left unmolested by zombies or spending 10 minutes trying to clear an area of a town or base of zombies to exfil with no cooldown. -
Are you going to find a M16 profile Buffer, buffer tube and buffer spring, M16 gas tube and the proprietary castle nut wrench and some Molybdenum for the barrel threads lying around in Chernarus? It would be more plausible to find prefabricated M16A4s, especially seeing how it's the primary service rifle of the US marines and their deployment in Chernarus is canon.

IV Holder/Pole - A way to use IV / Blood bag without help
stielhandgranate replied to lordlemos's topic in Suggestions
Hold it, place it on a peg/railing. I have heard from off hand sources of applying direct pressure on the bag, But I wouldn't try it unless a trained paramedic validated it. Buddy system does not eliminate the risk of a misphap. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2876914/ Yes, it is a hold over from the mod days to earn good boy points to get a hero skin. However while buddy system mechanics should be in, bags should be streamlined. Replace with CPR, buddy carry, and perhaps two man method on certain actions accelerate player actions like crafting, repairing, and fire making. Yes get rid of the blood bags, I've been saying that since day one. -

I really feel people are just unwilling to give away that edge offered when you can peek corners without fear of detection. -

I always hated how IV bags needed a buddy. Anyone who attends a Combat life saver class in the military can self administer bags. I'm sure civilian paramedic trade schools teach students the same. -

I don't see why not. The dev team already made a unique accessory and it's a waste to not use it. It's a mosin exclusive item and doesn't waste development effort, whats the harm in having another item to customize your weapon? -

Attachment for the Sporter 22
stielhandgranate replied to thefriendlydutchman's topic in Suggestions
No. Why would the military maintain some novelty magazine for a weapon they don't use? Just as AKMs and magazines don't have a place spawning in civilian buildings, civilian loot does not need to spawn in military buildings. Get rid of those water proof bags and big mountain packs too. Spawn that stuff in residential buildings. -

stielhandgranate replied to thefriendlydutchman's topic in Suggestions
No. Just because it has a high round capacity doesn't mean we have to arbitrarily put it somewhere military as it is a civilian weapon and not a military one. -
Should weapon attachments only spawn on guns?
stielhandgranate replied to gibonez's topic in General Discussion
Nah. I want to see some people use SVDs without PSO scopes as ad-hoc battle rifles until they come across a scope or abandon it for another weapon. -
I really want to see some abandoned battle ground that could be a nod to Harvest Red with M1 Abrams, M2 Bradley and T-90,T-72, BMP husks ala Battle of 73 Easting. I really want to see tank husks have an option to crawl in to hide from others or scavenge for supplies.

Full auto weapons have nothing to do with Cernarus atmosphere, nor survival lifestyle
stielhandgranate replied to lucianpin's topic in General Discussion
Yeah people never ever break the laws. Gun control works in places like Mexico, Iraq, East Ukraine; No one ever ever will pick up a gun a non effective or nonexistent government wouldn't allow them to, especially when needing protection from bandits and criminals. Next time you get shot at in game, call the Chernorussian police. The game isn't made to your unpopular specifications. Select fire weapons are here to stay. Deal with it friend. -

World war 2 was before your parent's time, of course you don't find weapons of the 1930s and 1940s there. There Chernorussian civil war was ongoing before the outbreak, your analogy sucks.
