Sorry thats wrong. The maximum effective range of a M1911 is 70 meters while the maximum effective range of an M9 is 50 meters. Also .45 rounds are subsonic and thus easier to quiet with a supressior. As far as ammo count, there are double stack magazine weapons chambered in .45 Auto.

It's called a spoon not a "clip". But it does have merit. Although I do see the the merit in using a hand grenade as a booby trap.

I doubt this game takes place 13 years in the future. If that were the case, vegetation would be overruning the buildings and roads in the game, and I doubt the zombies wouldn't have withered away or staved to death unless they are being held together with magic. -

Unless they were mag dumping on full auto untill their hanguards melted, or they were defending an area for over a year with no relief, the orginal owners wouldn't have had them long enough to to destroy the chamber or barrel of the weapon. I think you underestimate how much abuse M4s take before needing parts replacement. -

I fired weapons sitting in long term storage such as M2s,M4s and M16A2s and they never had any defects. The military also had to spend WW2 surplus .50 cal during OEF/OIF with no degradation. What ruins a firearm's accuracy are issues that come with continuous use, like barrel erosion and barrel straightness. Simply leaving a gun on the floors of a barracks or a apartment building for a long time won't ruin it's function. Also in the game's current state, the M4 cannot fire out to 300 meters, this is wrong. -

Thats a bad model to go by, you can give a M24 with a Leupold mk4 and 118LR to a person with no experience with firearms but that won't mean he'll make the best of that equipment. -

The M4A1 uses M855, a steel core round that is acurate up to 500 meters for a point target. The US Army and Air Force basic rifle marksmenship quals requre shooters to fire at distances up to 300 meters with a Aimpoint Comp M4 (M68). Its not that hard to engage at 300 meters with a carbine length barrel. -

I do agree with your post very much so. It really erks me that the M68 isn't zero'd for 300 meters and the ACOG has the wrong reticle. I thought Dean Hall, as a veteran would get stuff like that right. -
No, you're right. At my first duty station we got these headlamps from PETZEL that look just like the standalone model that we wore on our MICH.

One problem with sniper weapons in the mod was weapons like the AS 50 would agro the zombies, to the nearest player rather than the shooter. One way to "debuff" the use of sniper rifles would be to code them that so that any agro'd zombies would run to the shooter and expose them.

The Waffen SS used the C96 in small numbers during the second world war so I could see it being a rare item found in houses as bringbacks were common during all fronts. I'm all for rare items that aren't game breaking. In fact a small amout of WW2 surplus besides Mosin Nagants would be welcome.

I can't move my character, get him to stand or kneel. I know its not the keyboard as I can type with it and its not the server as I can't move in any. Please help.

I usually play games that have the option to go FPS in first person, but Arma II has a very shitty FPS view. I feel like I'm getting motion sickness when I use it as the screen seems to wobble and shake in a very exaggerated sense. Also some iron sights in the game suck, like the 1911 which uses the older sights as opposed more modern designed 1911s that use sights that allow the user to acquire sight picture faster and easier.Fallout 3/New Vegas did first person view better. Arma II seemed to have put in the option as an afterthought. -1

Should be a must for the M107. You can't fire that thing standing unsupported efficiently. Not so much for the M14 or CZ or other rifles, although prone is the preferred method.

Why is there even a PVS-4 in this game? The starlight got phased out years ago. It should be a PVS-14. -
You are wrong. They use AKMs or Chinese look alikes. It takes more than that to mill a gun. Barrels for example, require rifling. Not to mention weapon head spacing. Also gunsmithing is an involved trade. You don't acquire the skill to build a M2 from scratch by reading a book. Fuck, there are dedicated schools in the military to teach people how to shoot it that take over 10 days in training. And thats just to shoot and assemble the thing with pre fabricated parts. Also it is fucking laughable that you think you could make a G3 in a Eastern bloc gunshop, with no power and no milling device and with a person who is supposed to be an average joe. G3s were made by H&K in Germany. A Eastern European gunsmith shop would have a hard enough time milling a AR-15 receiver, let alone a German battle rifle receiver, barrel and injection molded plastic furniture that was never widely manufactured outside of one country. Also the M60's successor is in the game already, its called the M240B/ FN MAG. The M60 has been largely phased out in favor for the M240/FN MAG.

I said don't bother. I just pointed out the ridiculousness of comparing one persons idea of removing a weapon he feels is unbalanced to a bunch of liberal arts majors squatting at a public park in New York. Its like comparing someone wanting to remove or hinder bandits from the game to being a Waffen SS commando wanting to remove jews from Europe.
