Coated lens are standard, keep in mind a scope lens is a very small item to catch a reflection on as well. There are better ways to fix sniper fests such as adding ACE style mechanics in game.
-
Real optics are coated to prevent this or have ARDs. We really shouldn't take notes from causal FPS games.

The only thing wrong with this post, is that I can only vote yes once. Good images and presentation.

Its DayZ, a game about surviving zombies and interactions with players, not "Sniper griefing simulator". The Anti Material rifles in the mod never agro'd zombies to the shooter and instead to their intended target in a unrealistic matter. Seeing how Dean Hall is trying to discourage the old call of duty days of ignoring zombies all together, gunning down other players, and discarding any loot they may have had, I don't see long distance rifles outside 7.62 battle rifles and designated marksmen rifles being imputed.

They wanna be in call of duty.

I'd settle for a saiga 12. I don't expect much effort as far as weapons diversity.

Thats not a real military issue backpack. It looks like one of those airsoft ones you see made in China. I think you want something more like this. http://zenbackpacking.net/Fabric/Ruck.jpg Also you never want to put Coffee, or anything that isn't watter for that matter in a canteen as sugar will ruin it.

The Saiga 12 is more common than some might think. It's sold to civilians in Russia, The United States, Germany, Czech Republic it is used by several police forces around the world, even in the US and Russian MVD.

Several russian weapons that Id like to see in Dayz

I guess no one ever bothers to research the lore these days. -
They could just call it a Saiga 12. Also it is a 12 gauge shotgun, not a rifle. As far as price goes, I bought my Saiga for 600 USD, its not that expensive for a combat shotgun.
-
Off the internet for a while and my saiga thread gains momemtem. Thanks. I always thought it was strange the mod didn't carry the saiga, but I hope it will make an apperance in SA seeing how they can reuse some textures from the AKM/AK-74 and share parts like scopes.

Allow me to start by saying, this is a game for adults. The Developers shouldn't concern themselves with holding back content to appeal to a younger audience. If parents want to allow their children to play this game that's fine, but they shouldn't expect violence to be toned down. Zombie Children I firmly believe they should be different "types" of zombies, but not like in left4dead or house of the dead. Fat zombies with larger hitboxes,police/military zombies with body armor, and zombie wildlife have been suggested and are very good ideas, but I think zombie children should be a part of the game. Smaller hit boxes, lower health and it gives a more bleak out look of the situation. It will tell players "families lived in this town" and remind them that this is a survival horror game. Dismemberment Fallout 3/New Vegas has a very good dismemberment system. I think later down the road a similar system should be implemented. Dismembering a geared player with an explosive or large caliber guns would outright destroy their equipment sans anything left intact on an appendage, like a glove of a helmet. It would force players to consider the power of their weapons, leave contested areas like bases and large cities look like player made warzones that would be different on every server run and humiliate those who see their character get torn apart before they die. Burns/scars Explosives are confirmed, why not have anyone who is wounded by an explosive or incendiary weapon be permanently disfigured by them. Other players could see "that guy has seen some shit" and people could grow a greater attachment to their character. Guns and stabbing weapons should leave scars for the same reason.

Zombie children,Dismemberment,Burns/Scars

For people saying this game can't have zombie kids for legal issues, how did the dead space franchise get away with it? -
SKS 30 round magazine attachment
stielhandgranate replied to overdosed (DayZ)'s topic in Suggestions
Also that guy in the video is a fucking retard. Attaching a 30 round magazine does not make a rifle an "Assault Rifle" as it is not a select fire weapon. -
SKS 30 round magazine attachment
stielhandgranate replied to overdosed (DayZ)'s topic in Suggestions
The "Normal Attachments" are equipment that that has been proven to work. MAGPUL accessories,Knight Armament rails and other items for the M4 have a good reputation for their durability. TAPCO and the other crap companies that make goofy stuff like 30 round magazines have a reputation for being shit quality. Like I said, Yes allow it, but make it lead to double feeds or other malfunctions. -
This is funny, my group was talking about the merits of such device. A despite lone player could carry a suicide vest to deter hold ups or a group of survivors could send in one person in an entrenched position for a kamikaze attack.

SKS 30 round magazine attachment
stielhandgranate replied to overdosed (DayZ)'s topic in Suggestions
I tend to not go by "what the guy said" and personal experience.Stuff like 30 round magazines for an SKS or Archangel stocks for Mosin Nagants tend to be of poor quality and have a short life. Also Surefire makes 60 round casket magazines for the AR-15/M16 series rifle. This is a 75 round drum, however 30 round magazines on SKS rifles tend to have similar issues. -

They also tend to suck and have feeding issues. Although I am for faultily equipment that can be used by idiots. -
The United States military is everywhere. In a zombie crisis, personnel would be all over the world at embassies, grabbing up VIPs and persons of interests, en route to other AORs, or simply stranded and left to fend for themselves with no support. The community shouldn't be attempting to bar content. This game isn't Stalker and if Dean Hall wanted to exclude such items and lore, he would have used an original map rather than one with a per-established background.Should NATO/US content be rarer than Warsaw pact gear? Yes. Excluded? No.

Add Hip Holsters, Duel Pistols and Utility Belts
stielhandgranate replied to Ziggles (DayZ)'s topic in Suggestions
I like the idea of strapping extra holsters to equip different pistol types, like what some people in law enforcement practice with backup pistols, and I would only approve of firing two weapons at once if it's very inaccurate and very difficult to reload to the point that only idiots would use it. -
Or KORBA,PSO sights. Or third party rail mounts. Or an extended charging handle, Or a cleaning kit, Or a bayonet.

They are going to be in the game. Calm yourself. Stop wasting forum space with requests that are already guaranteed.

Hey, regular ammo is FMJ, go back to playing cowadoody. Armor piercing ammo in small arms is made with Tungsten, Hardened Steel or Teflon, such materials are hard to melt down with simple tools. Also the military experimented with poising munitions with anthrax in the cold war and found that the heat of the round would render the materials used inert.

M4 And Future Weapon Accuracy And Status

No, you pause your breath at a natural exhale and breathe after each shot than repeat.
