    COCAINE, NARCOTICS, BEER AND SMOKES

Your Wikipedia states that Mr Liljenwall was shunned for violating rules, not because his alcohol consumption gave him an unfair advantage. The New York times article mentions, "Beta Blockers", not outright narcotic usage, it also mentions: Also it mentions that beta blockers can hurt your performance: Lets keep in mind the whole article pertains to golf, not firearms. I didn't examine your last link as I have no knowledge of archery, outside of knowing the fundamentals of pistol/rifle marksmen ship and archery are very different.

    Not all ammunition is pristine

That ammo has been exposed to the elements from not being in their original case or can. However the last two examples have intact primers and would likely function well. Also keep in mind most western ammo is brass cased and won't erode like your examples, M196,M855,M80,M882,M118LR ammo would fair better to the elements unlike that Warsaw pact/steel cased stuff.

    Not all ammunition is pristine

Ammo is pretty resilient in real life. I've used M2 belts made in the 1950s, and recently I've used 7.62 belts made in the 1980s. If it's in a box, it should be pristine. Unless its been outside for a few weeks outside of a box or magazine, it shouldn't degrade.

    COCAINE, NARCOTICS, BEER AND SMOKES

This is such bullshit. Those items are banned because you never want to give a loaded firearm to a person under the influence of mind altering drugs or spirits. As a firearms instructor, I've never come across a claim that the drugs you mentioned assist you in shooting a firearm. Care to provide some sources?

    Remove 'sniper' rifles?

I don't think sniper rifles should be removed but I don't think they should be the end tier weapon. I hope later down the line sniper rifles require wind consideration as bullet drop is already in game. Also rocket launchers and mortars would make good counter sniper weapons and break up the whole sniper alley mindset..
  6. There are some inaccuracies in your OP I would like to see fixed if you don't mind. "The M16A4 replaced the M16A2 series in all of the U.S. Military branches" This is not true. The US Air Force has not replaced their M16A2s with M16A4s and intends to replace them with M4s. Also the US Army and Navy still issues M16A2s in large numbers. "Browning M2 Machine Gun (.50 BMG): Manufactured in the United States, the Browning M2 Machine Gun was first introduced towards the end of WW1, designed by John Browning. The previous version, the Browning M1919, was chambered in the .30-06 caliber, which was not enough firepower towards oncoming hostiles." The M2 was designed to counter the threat of an armored air plane in WW1, not ground forces although it succeeded in both air and ground roles.

    More WW2 guns?

Not quite true. The M16A1 had a 1:12 twist rate barrel and used M193 ammo as standard, whereas the M16A4 has a 1:7 rate and uses M855 ammo as standard. This leads to different "damage" on human or material targets.

    Two New Guns

The AK-12 is a bad idea, Not in use, Just add modern AK-74s,VSS/VAL and other current production weapons in game. Right now the AK-12 makes as much sense as a G11. To be fair, There are SV-98 civilian models for sale, http://www.atlanticfirearms.com/component/virtuemart/shipping-rifles/izhmash-record-7-62x54r-target-rifle-iz-180-detail.html?Itemid=0.

    Removed.

If we were to take realism in reguards to LBV like the UK assault version, then each mag pouch should hold TWO magazines, instead of one, allowing the owner to carry a total of EIGHT magazines. Also people using mag pouches in real life also use them to hold other items with similar shape, like a radio

    Mortar!

    Why not both?

carry a m4 in your backpack

If you learn how to use a cleaning kit on it, you will learn how to break the weapon into an upper and lower receiver.

    Mortar!

I really like these ACE inspired ideas. I think more attention needs to be drawn to ACE mechaincs and weapons operations.

    Mortar!

Becuase a mortar has the same distructive capabilites as a SRBM? You could be a little more creative in your shitposting.

    Pistol mags

What? People who maintain firearms for self defense often keep a magazine with their weapon, if not loaded in their gun on condition two or one depending on the model and set up. I keep a M92FS loaded for personal defense myself. In the US military, weapons used for resource protection are often stored in combination safes with loaded magazines for quick access during off duty hours. Lets not forget the last owner may have not had time to detach the magazine before not needing it anymore. RNG with mags and extra rounds would work good for this game.

    Mortar!

I would also like to mention that non professorially trained groups across the middle east and south east Asia managed to use mortars. One mechanic in game that would be interesting would be stuffing a mortar tube full of ice and a shell for a time delay effect. Not effective but unnerving. There is also the afore mentioned use of turning shells into improvised bombs, maybe with cordless phones or tripwire circuits.
  16. There are some valid arguments for light mortars, I suggest you examine CGNoodlePot's thread.

    Weapons that should be added

The M14 is not an Assault Rifle. It is a Battle Rifle. The G22 isn't an Assault Rifle, it is not select fire.

    Mortar!

Here is one example of a locally made mortar that wouldn't break the game and allow events such as laying siege to player made bases, flushing out entrenched persons or illuminating a city in night hours. No computers, laser guidance or GPS guided hardware. Less threatening than a marksmen rifle or sniper rifle in most aspects. Czech vz. 52 calibre (mm): 82 maximum range (m): 3 650 minimum range (m): 80 elevation and training (in 360 dg scale): - elevation: 45-85 - training (without a change of mortar baseplate position): ± 5 - training (with a change of mortar baseplate position): 360 rate of fire (rounds per minute): 20 crew: 3 weight of complete barrel (kg): 21 weight of fire baseplate (kg): 16,5 weight of bipod (kg): 22 weight of round (kg): 3,3 weight - complete (kg): 66 weight - ready to fire (kg): 59,5 maximum transport speed (kph) with PV3S ATV: - road: 60 - terrain: 20 length of barrel (mm): length of mortar (towed position - marching order) (mm): 1 335

    Mortar!

I don't remember reading that in the game description. Also I am in the military IRL, so I would consider myself a "soldier". I want to be a soldier in this game, please don't tell me to play a different game because of it. The player background is what you make for yourself, not what you want or think what people to be. Also judging what should be in the game shouldn't be measured by if something isn't " can't pick up cause it's unwieldy, injacurate and you may never find ammo". If that were the case, only high speed weapons and gear would be implemented and nothing in between. Also you don't need to be a "supercommando" to use a fucking mortar, holy fuck. Between this thread and the hate for saiga 12s on this forum I think very little people here know anything about guns outside CoD and CNN anti 2A yellow journalism.

    Mortar!

Fair enough, I guess we will have to agree to disagree.

    Mortar!

Mortars aren't artillery, they are mortars. American mortars can hit out to 5 kilometers and there are less effective models still in use with other nations. Also being in the military I can tell you in a deployed environment you can forgo keeping such equipment at a WSA or a AHA if you intend to use such munitions. Also the current bases on the map wouldn't be able to sustain themselves in a garrison environment so that leads me to believe they were COBs, such places wouldn't necessarily have the hardened structures you're thinking of.

    Mortar!

Why? Because other similar video games don't have them and we want to maintain the status quo? Or Because people on dayZ seem to think mortars are predator drone accurate and able to destroy a city with a single round? I know people seem to think that no one would bother trying to recover such a weapon when if in reality in such a situation you would grab anything that could be remotely valuable or useful.

    Mortar!

Maybe because mortars are man portable? How dare people like ideas you don't like.
  24. stielhandgranate

    Mortar!

You're right. Adding the mortar would mean that using it would require to use the sights and no targeting computer interface. It would deter the call of duty crowd, who seem to lack patience to learn such a machine from using it to grief players. Smaller groups should laud the presence of a mortar. As a small team could use it to rout a larger group that has a base and effective sniper cover. That being said the earlier suggestion of adding RPG-7s would be a great idea too. There should be more than one way to clear a sniper. Rockets and mortars aren't as scary as marksmen fire in several ways as a sniper can correct a missed shot with a follow up with ease of concealment while mortars can't see their targets and warn their targets with whistles and RPGs take weight, are very long to reload and expose you with noise and vapor trail.

    Mortar!

Don't give CoD credit. You can't use complex items like mortars in that game as it's user age base is in the low teens. Some people want to roleplay as soldiers, and even soldiers can't achieve easy kills with only one mortar tube and a handful of shells. If you look at the sight on a mortar, it's not easy to score accurate hits. If anything it would be as effective as machinegun fire at 800+ meters with added encumbrance. I think people need to look into how a mortar works. In the military it's several mortars in unison to archive effect. One or even three tubes and 20 shells wouldn't be enough to saturate one of the bay cities. I say add it, look at other interesting things like shooting flares or smoke into towns.
