I don't have an account on reddit or twitter, however two polls on the forum (one in the dayz suggestions forum and one in the dayz general forum) ended in favor of realistic ammunition representations, however both polls had about 70 users vote on them each. Most debate was also in favor of ammunition for various reasons such as realism and game play.

I'll do you a special favor and ask some of the Afgan interpreters,contractors and merchants here how they feel about use of the word "jihad" by an American to describe struggle. I'll even get a diverse opinion on the subject and see if I can ask the Turkish contractors that work here too. I'll give you a reply in 12 hours. But they are seeing how the AK-74 files have been complete for some time and not implemented. Does the community that was introduced to DayZ by Arma and it's true to life depictions of firearms now take a step backwards and get these weapons chambered in "Rifle bullets" while having to deal with finding type AB+ blood for their wounded battle buddy,antibiotics to fight infections and disease, and find spark plugs,steering fluid and oil for their GAZ jeep?

The word "Jihad" has been in common use in the English language since before 9/11 and the act of borrowing words and phrases from other languages is common practice. I will continue to use it. Pretending to take the high road doesn't make your position anymore valid. I'm not the only one who disagrees with dev moves, if you would like to re-open the subject in another thread you're more than welcome to.

You aren't "trying to simulate the real world in suggesting these" but don't want the PSO-1 scope comparable with the AK-101 even though it will fit because it isn't 7.62x54R? From what little familiarization I had with the PSO-1 is that it isn't rated for a specific caliber like the ACOG or ELCAN and there are images of AK riflemen using the PSO scope as issued equipment. Also just because the Devs have a jihad against adding the AK-74 and it's caliber, doesn't mean that the AK-101 is now the AK-74 and the community should settle. It shouldn't use AK-74 accessories and the community should hold out and see if the Dev team will renege this decision as 5x45 can be used in other weapons besides the AK-74, such as the AKS-74u,AEK-74,and the RPK-74.

With the new player skins coming up, I for one would like to see this expanded on. And what better way to expand than have a sassy black woman for your survivor group? Think about it. No, catering to the casuals already fucked up the ammo and weapons authenticity for the game. Be glad you ruined casualized such a large part of the game and leave it at that. This game isn't supposed to hand hold for inept players that can't handle a simple challenge or read the countless online guides and wiki.

German Automatic weapons of WW2, especially GPMGs would be uncommon due to legality,maintenance,age and ammunition issues. If this was Takistan, I would like to see them as the Soviets flooded the area with German surplus during the cold war. As stated the MG3 would be more fitting and is a somewhat common GPMG across Europe.

That new bolt action rifle was supposed to be 5.56 and would have made the round more viable and common but then the devs screwed up and made it 7.62x39.

Why would those optics be exclusive for the AK-101? That side rail is the same dimensions as the AKM and AK-74. Those AK-74 magazines are for a 5.45 round, not a 5.56. I doubt they are comparable.

As someone in the Military I can tell you that there are always an abundance of magazines floating around. Also most military training teaches shooters to simply drop the empty magazine on a rapid reload rather than retain it. Empty magazines should be found on the streets and at checkpoints and would reward players for looking though rubble and junk.

Reading on some forum topics, several users have made claims that the map is not getting expanded according to devs, despite the already developed roads that reach beyond the boundaries and the stated plan by the dev team to expand the map by four times it's current size. Has anyone come across the devs mentioning this subject in recent times? The current map is really over crowded with new cities and towns and can use and expansion.

Do you think those AK rifles were milled or stamped from solid gold or faked? Those examples were trophy guns from Iraq, not Afghanistan. There is at lease one captured example of a plated SVD as well. Plating guns in shiny metals/finish isn't uncommon. There are several examples on mass produced handguns. Also I doubt those trophy guns had gold bolts,carriers,firing pins,fire control groups and pistons. Furthermore we aren't arguing the functionality of these guns, only the possibility of their existence in Chernarus. On another note, All AK variants in game should be able to be able to be spray painted like the Mosin Nagant. I like this idea, I could see people damaging this weapon to try to dull the paint job and thus resort to mutilating their flashy piece. Also warlords and crime lords do this on a common basis so it isn't too far fetched.
