I'm sorry. This is trading realism for arcade style game play. In real life AKMs and AK74s with side rails are common. The inception of the side accessory rail isn't something recent that came with the AK74M iteration. The only thing I could see is adding AK-47s that are absent a side rail and make it a low tier select fire weapon.

Hes right about the P1 and the CZ75,FNP/1911 though. They should do similar damage. You are right though on the fact that a full rifle length weapon should out range and be more damaging than a pistol chambered in the same cartridge.

Agreed. Also the ammo should look like this: Not brass cased like it is in game. Russians rarely use brass in their small arms ammunition. I really doubt the locals were spending $20 USD in Chernorussian currency on 20 rounds of brass cased 7.62x54R for their Mosin Nagants when they boarder a country which sells 400 round cans of surplus for less than $100 USD.

Thats dumb, you break open the gas tank with a sharp tool to drain gas from derelict vehicles.

Its cool little player made movements like this that give this game an extra layer of depth. I really would like to see some more groups like this in the future and perhaps support for things like this in game. Perhaps like being able to tack notes on walls with tape with your message to recruit others. -
This was data mined a few months ago, but it would be great if it worked like what OP was getting at, being able to attach pouches. http://imgur.com/a/ATrP2/embed#0

Wrecks in general need to be random. So every server run is unique. I would love to see more interaction with wrecks too. People should be able to crawl into and hide in T-72,BMP and BRDM husks to avoid other players, set up ambushes or scavenge for supplies.

I like this idea. Reminds me of Rhodesian chest rigs.

There a LBVs in use that do not have slots for plates that could be barracks tent spawns like these: Then have these as attachments, in different colors and patterns:

This is a good idea. In Afghanistan legend has it that locals with AKS-74us recovered one from an encounter with Russian Special Forces, or defeated a armored fighting vehicle/helicopter crew and earned a degree of respect among their peers. The SKS needs to be deleted entirely from the military spawn table all together.

I kinda feel that chernarus needs to be "blown up"

When player interaction is common, we get what this game is now. "A survivor! Let me gun him down or torture them." Bigger maps means less encounters and makes them more valuable. -

We need a bigger map. Devs never said it couldn't be done. They said it would take a lot of work. When Ground vehicles are in the map is going to feel small. Like real small. IF we get aircraft? Enjoy getting anywhere on the map in 4 minutes. Make map bigger. And bigger with more land mass, not this "same repeated towns" BS. Thats not making the map bigger, its phoning it in. -
The shemagh, also known as a Keffiyeh is a scarf that gained popularity in North American,East Asian and European society during the recent conflict in the middle east. It would make a great article of clothing that would have a civilian and military counterpart. While many American and European military issues these scarfs to deploying personnel, they have become commonplace with the "hipster crowd" in non military circles. How could this be quickly implemented? Use the ArmA 3 shemagh as a base as was done with the press vest, FNX pistol, and other items. What versions can it come in? Many, as seen here: In game this item should work like the bandana. Right click in menu for headwarp mode or scarf mode.Tan,green and light green versions should be restricted to military bases, while colors like red, yellow and grey should spawn in city apartment buildings or stores.

So the TTsKO jacket comes with a free Telnyashka undershirt. Can we see this item as it's own shirt as well?
-
Clothing isn't as big as firearms. In East Europe compulsory service is common so we can expect to see a large amount of local uniforms.
-
I'm all for that, greater risk for greater reward. But cutting back on uniforms and military regalia because people don't like seeing others wear uniforms is dumb.
-
Are you basing this on the idea that police and military personnel are less inclined to survive a crisis than civilians? Or the assumption that no one outside the military collects uniforms or the militatires of the world only issue one uniform per person and no one would leave spares in their living quarters?

The devs could really learn from legend Hideo Kojima. In Metal Gear Solid 2 and later games, shooting NPCs near walls and on unarmored parts of their body left a blood splatter consistent with with shot location and shooting NPCs equipped with dome helmets similar to motorcycle helmets in the head would splatter the visor with blood. Later in Metal Gear solid 3, killing NPCs by cutting their throats left a blood stain on their clothes as they bled out. I would really like to see a system like this adopted in DayZ.

The best use mortars can have in this game is to one of the things that were near impossible to counter in the mod, Counter sniper. One of the most common uses that mortars have in Afghanistan is to flush out a sniper when things like air support and actual counter snipers (Designated marksmen trained to do what their title says) are unavailable or don't work. Call for fire support for a grid coordinate where the sniper is suspected to be and ether kill them or force them to retreat. Mortars are sturdy and easy to maintain compared to FLIR sights and UAVs and offer an actual counter to the sniper fests that plagued the mod days. At worst it forces snipers to be more clever and resort to using culverts and buildings for their nests. Also your post apoc images showed STALKER, a game where RPGs,IFVs and gunships were present, come on.

The good thing about dayz is it isn't a democracy and what will and will not be added in game is up to the development team. Back when Cannibalism was a suggestion many underage kids afraid mommy won't let them play dayz any more would argue against such a mechanic, yet here we are.
-
a. You are assuming the developers wouldn't implement a detailed interface, dispute members of the Dev Team like Dean Hall talking about the ACE and ACRE mods and thei merits. b. The overlay would at best give you some cliff notes on the dials and mil increments, something that wouldn't be an easy button c. Biggest gripe here. The RPG isn't some Micheal Bay scene delivery vehicle. They will make a good complement to other launchers like M203s and GP-25s.
-
You don't get kuru, you get "brain disease". This brain disease could be some new type of disease exclusive to dayz lore.

Stop DayZ from turning into a Twitch shooter

The clear move here is to allow more twich sniping. More twich users get stream sniped, then stop streaming, no more twich shooting. -
Mortar school gives you enough math credits for to knock out an associates degree.
