Texts and GUI Low Resolution Problem

In case you're still having this problem, this is what solved it for me: go to your graphics properties (either through your catalyst control center or by right clicking on the desktop) (if you have intel integrated, you will need to go to advanced options) go to 3D options and set preference to quality instead of performance. start dayz and test it out.

Holy thread revival batman, way to waste everyone's time talking about a dead server and clan.
  3. It was pretty fun running into you on that lingor server tho

Texts and GUI Low Resolution Problem

I've had the exact same problem, tried messing with the video options, steam options, etc. no avail. Then once in a blue moon it will go back to 1080p for a day. I hope someone can figure his one out.

No Mac, I'm calling you pedantic for insisting that you can dictate an ad hoc TOS based on interviews he gave. As it is right now, the DayZ's server hosting TOS is a list of about a dozen bullet points on a forum post. It's worthless and we all know it; that's why you had to quote something Rocket said about persistent world to support your argument and why Ravin had to PM a dev. If DayZ had a thorough TOS, all you would have to do is look up the article regarding uptime regulations or accaptable banning procedures, quote the section saying it is forbidden to shut down the server for x amount of time, and we'd be done here. But that TOS doesn't exist, instead we have to think in terms of "Rocket's vision" of Dayz, which he himself has admitted has changed drastically over the past months. Yes, shuting down a server for hours on end is exessive, and should stop since it's not in the spirit of the DayZ survival game, but instead of going to the dev's and starting a level headed discussion about how to make clearer rules to stop these situations, everyone jumps on the blacklisting bandwagon without any real information. You can't pass a verdict based on a rule that closest applies, it's like saying "well, we don't have a law against stealing car stereos, but we have one against grand theft auto; so we're just gunna try you for that."

It's a game Mac, you want a real persistent world, get rid of loot respawns.

Seems ineffective Ravin, but I guess I'll concede that the shutdowns can't continue for such long periods of time. You have to admit though, it's a hard pill to swallow that hackers can just instakill every player in a server and get away clean yet the admins end up taking the heat for trying to stop it.

No I did not. Ravin's question and the respective answer contained nothing concerning an appropriate response to hacking, and is therefore pretty much irrelevant to this discussion. Ravin/The Hopper, How do you guys deal with hackers, I'm actually curious since according to the TOS, you can only ban people for racism. - S C I P I O ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- in a world full of Scipio one must become a Scipio in order to Scipio

Mac, read the TOS, server uptime is not mentioned once. Your entire argument is baseless.
  10. Scipio1770

Wrong. Locking a server allows a specific group of players to farm loot and vehicles without the risk of competing enemies, therefore gives them a tactical advantage. Server takedown is an impartial shutdown that favors no specific group, neither member players nor competing players can play, and therefore is inherently different from locking.

MacMcdonald and Ravin, I'd like either of you to directly link where it specifically says that servers must have a minumum uptime, until then, shut up. Server downtime is not the same as locking and is not against the rules, simple as that. The reason us 1038 is taken down occasionally is to avoid hackers logging in when there aren't any admins awake to stop them. Hacking is a massive problem in this game, and one that the DayZ dev team has failed to give server admins very many tools to combat. I'd like to see you arguing this point after you've been teleported to the thunderdome a few times.
  12. IRL Information Name: Eddy Age: 19 Location: Durham, USA / Shanghai, China (my family is expat) Timezone: Eastern Do you meet ALL the requirements? If not, which ones are you missing and why?: Yes Game Information IGN: Scipio Steam ID: (if applicable): Scipio1770 Desired group role (Medic, sniper, sotter, etc): Spotter/Overwatch Why you would like to join? What interested you about us? (min. 4 sentences): Well I've been looking for a group to squad play with, but GMS in particular is experimenting with some interesting concepts that I'd like to try out. Raiding stary or the airfields is hard without a good team, so I figure joining GMS is a good way to meet some experienced players and organize some regular raids. Also, from what I've read, GMS seems to have a decent storage and trading base, I'd like to see how well that works, since I'd love to be able to drop off weapons and loot for future use. And of course your radio station is pretty entertaining so I'd love to get behind a community like that. Also, to explain my location situation: I attend college in Durham but visit family in Shanghai during holidays and summer. What skills / perks can you offer to [GMS]?: Nothing too fancy, I'd be a good addition to any parties going up north, I would regularly drop off weapons for whoever needs them, and I'd gladly tag along with any newer players who want to get the hang of group raiding. I hope to hear from you guys soon, until then I'll be requesting songs on the stream.
  13. Name: Eddy Age: 19 IGN: Scipio1770 SteamID: Scipio1770 Desired Combat Role: Spotter/Overwatch Why you would like to join: I've been looking for a reliable storage base and and organized squad to raid with. GMS seems to have that down, and I like the radio concept. What can you offer to the clan: Assuming I don't get shot anytime soon, I can offer an extra DMR I have as a donation to the clan's armory. Nothing fancy besides that, I'm just a fairly experienced squad player and I'm told I make charming company.
