It baffles me so much to see people abort after taking shots and being knocked down. Don't they get they're going to die regardless? At least you manned up. I've had plenty of 7+ day characters with great gear get offed. I learned to stop caring about what I'm wearing a long long time ago. There's always someone else out there that will end up with your stuff sooner or later.

They're not going to ban you for using a hacked item so why not. You'll just be a red flag on any server you play on with admins.

The cheapest that would get approved for DayZ would be about $108 a month. You would be able to host your own TS3 and maybe a different game or two on that plan. They usually have deals on their facebook page too and coupon codes so maybe you can save more.

It just sends in-game messages to the players before shutting down. It doesn't download anything that I can see.

You would rent a dedicated server that you were responsible for and setup DayZ yourself. It can be a learning experience if you've never managed your own server before. You could also host other games/services on it too. Short of the datacenter having issues, you'll almost have no issues that you cannot fix yourself. You don't have to rely on 72 hour wait times for support from a middleman.

I've never had issues with vehicles spawning or tents by killing the process. I think it's those who restart the mission only that have those issues.

Yes I run both as a service. Keep in mind that BEC will automatically close when the server process is killed so you'll need to start it back up. I just made a batch file that did this: echo off taskkill /im arma* DayZ.bat exit DayZ.bat was another bat I was using to start the server back up. You could add a line under that to start BEC but make sure you have the -config line there. Get firedaemon to create services easily if you can afford to spend some money. Makes it much easier then managing a bunch of crappy batch files and scheduled tasks.

There are ways if you have your own dedicated server. I can't discuss them because I don't want to get in trouble. There aren't any managed servers that rent private hive servers that I'm aware of.

I just use a batch file to restart the service I have created. I used to use a batch file to kill the process before I decided to make it a service.

I think every popular managed host has had their share of issues on the forums. You get what you pay for. Go Limestone Networks if you decide to go dedicated.

Server is back to Regular (with Veteran tweaks) and crosshairs on. Easier to catch hackers even though I hate it.

Also hackers can change the time/weather in your server. Just an FYI.

Few times on my server too but I'm about 90% sure it's due to dumbass hackers doing stupid stuff like Thunderdome and spam nuking it. I use TCAdmin so it just restarts itself when it crashes.
