Nope, normal occlusion culling wouldn't cut it. You need something that can remove entire groups of objects/entities in a single stroke. They need something higher up like region culling/visareas/layers/etc. For example, if you can't see the house, you don't even need to look at any of the items in a house, same goes for houses in towns, etc. Also keep in mind that if all of those little objects needs physics enabled (so you can't walk through plants, chairs, etc.) it could put a lot more strain on the server. For example, in CryENGINE you can set up layers for all kinds of things and activate/deactivate them as needed. If a layer isn't activated, it's completely ignored from a processing perspective.

I'd say just watch for obvious things if you can - like a player that logs in and goes directly to a vehicle. For example, we've had several instances of people who leave a bicycle and take one of our vehicles - which more than likely means they spawned on the coast, went directly to the nearest bicycle and then used it to go directly to our vehicle to take it.

The bus is good for range practicing with your 203 HEs - at least that's what I use it for when I find them in the woods.

I understand Rocket's vision with a persistent character between worlds, but I don't think it works with the small amount of people on one server. If he had servers (or shards) where you could have 1000s of players at once then I think it would work a lot better to have a character that is locked to that server/shard. Because of how crappy the server code is - having to be continually reset the server, tents/vehicles not appearing, small amount of players, servers going down for hours/days, etc. you can't have characters locked to a server. That means you have to be able to server hop in some form. I personally think, and I've recommended this before, that you should be able to server hop as often as you want, unless you are within X meters of another player/zombie or have the shock icon (looted something recently as well?) - throw in logout timers or something then. If you're off by yourself in the middle of the forest, who really cares if you server hop.

I believe there's a system that checks for hacks/hacked weapons (and probably other stuff) that is shared between server admins. If the program bans you on one server, you will be banned on all servers that the data is shared with. If you really search, there are places that are so good for a tent that it would be extremely unlikely it would be found unless someone is cheating. You can literally walk around the bush/trees and even with object details set to low there is no sign of a tent at all being in it.

There are always 5 per server on each restart.

Find any vehicle and save it. After a restart there's about a 50% chance it will magically turn into a bus! :)

Turn the wheels all the way to one side and back up, then then turn wheels to the other side, etc. Eventually it will probably upright itself. I had one flip last night on an incline and it took 1/4 tank of gas before I finally could get it upright again. There are some YouTube videos as well, but I think it's harder on an incline.
