I kinda like that there are "hotspots" for PvP that are based on loot quality, it's just that the current logging-off/server-hopping game abuse severely degrades the core gameplay. -
Hinting at their utter lack of fashion style also works. As does insulting their mothers.

I avoid Cherno like the plague. Elektro is OK for a quick loot grab with a new char, otherwise I stay clear of that as well. If I want action I visit the NW and NE airfields, Stary and Berezino. Getting 'decent' equipment (pistol, assault rifle, backpack, the standard tools) is usually a matter of 1-2 hours. I usually last a couple of days, with 3+ weeks my best. The longer I play the more risks I take though, since IMO nothing is more boring than running around fully pimped fearful of dying. -
I've never disconnected in PvP and I've been playing since early May. Died many, many times and I don't care. If you're getting overly attached to your char/items you're playing it wrong. OTOH about 3/4 of my PvP encounters end with the other side disconnecting. It's the one big problem that really hurts my fun with this great mod. Simple solution: 1.) any time a char disconnects for whatever reason the char stays frozen in the gameworld for 30 seconds. 2.) any time a char logs onto a server he stays frozen for 30 seconds upon entering the gameworld.

I agree, remove them. The current 'locking' of loot spawns by magically indestructible wire that can't be removed with a wire fencing kit due to clever positioning is an engine abuse, nothing more. -
I just found one this evening, in a barn.

What is realistic about a doorway being closed down with a magical, indestructible wire that is not removable with a wire fencing kit due to clever positioning? I have actually set up and cleared NATO wire and believe me, there's nothing magical about it. It's an engine exploit, simple as that.

I've lost count how many times I've visited the barracks at the NW airfield. Never found a single NVG. GPS OTOH I've found a couple. I always think it's funny when I read stuff on forums like "I found 3 NVGs just in the last two days.". Or "NVGs are easy to find if you know where to look, I usually get mine within 20 minutes of spawning in Kamenka". Yeah...suuuure... -_-

People spawning anywhere destroys tactical play

Simple solution: 1.) Whenever you log out of the game your character freezes for 30 seconds, much like getting knocked unconscious. Same if you lose connection for any reason. 2.) Whenever you log in your character freezes for 30 seconds. Also a message will be sent to all players within 100m. This would IMO greatly reduce server hopping since simply logging off/on in contested areas would now pose a serious risk. Oh, and it would greatly help fixing DC'ing in combat, too. Such a feature would greatly encourage people to log off in safe locations, well away from other players. -
You have to stand inside a forest/wooded area in order to harvest wood. Simply standing next to any tree doesn't work. For direct comms make sure you have the latest Arma beta patch installed.

DayZ rule no. 1: There are no friendlies at the NW airfield. Wait. That was rule no. 2. No. 1 was "Yes, someone's shooting in Cherno".

It feels as if pistols and rucksacks have become less common, and deer stands now rather often than not seem empty despite "fresh" Zombie spawns. Nothing too bad though.

The glass doors/windows take quite a few rounds to shatter and the Makarov is probably the weakest firearm in the game. Keep shooting, the glass will eventually break. -
OP has a point BUT a lot of the complaints over the last 2 days were due to an update almost breaking the game by turning all Zombies into hyper-aggressive, X-ray vision equipped monsters. 1.7.1.5 fixed this issue.
