Yep, tested it with two different chars, got two different blood groups. It's random set when spawning new. -

- improved Chernarus map - inventory system - animations - Zs not zig-zagging any more - accessible buildings - ammo system - blood regeneration - handcuffs etc. - medical system - books - clothing - loot that needs actual "searching" - paper&pen - close combat -
The only time in DayZ I ever wanted name tags was when playing with a group, because everyone basically looked the same. Since in the SA character customization lets us now create pretty unique chars I really can't see the need for name tags any more.

Funny thing is that while the Balota AF is a bloody battlefield covered with bodies the NEAF is a shopping paradise. I've been there at least half a dozen times by now, always on full servers, and found everything a survivor could hope for. And I've never even seen another player up there. Maybe it's just Darwin at work though: "WHY COME I ALWAYS GET SHOTTED WHEN GOIGN TO BALOTA AF????!!" Oh well, some may learn. In time. :rolleyes:

I think food/water consumption rates are just fine. You want people to constantly scavenge for food. Having a player literally live on a handful of cans for a whole week (a few hours playtime every day) would totally negate the idea of "survival" since finding food is really no big challenge right now. If you walk away from the spawn locations at the coast food is more than plenty and water is free from ponds, streams and wells. -

Is it really so hard to understand that yes, non-consensual PvP is awesome, but that the "shoot everything that moves lolz" mentality of parts of the playerbase is killing the gameplay for everyone interested in a bit more than deathmatch with Zombie NPCs? -
Since the last patch I don't get any "my stomach is full" messages anymore. And I can't seem to regenerate blood by eating or drinking, no matter how much I eat and drink. Char is not sick or injured, but colours stay a bit gray-ish no matter what I do. Anyone else?

Something is still buggy. I ate some 20+ cans of food and drank tons of water and I still don't get either a "I'm full message" nor can see the "healthy" icon in the inventory screen. I've also fed my char antibiotics in case he was sick, no difference. EDIT: I switched servers and now I see my char is "sick". Yay! Finally I know what's wrong.

IMO it is currently FAR to easy to equip a char with military equipment. Just run to an airfield and loot, rinse and repeat. I don't know what plans the devs have regarding loot distribution but I'd like to see military-grade weapons to be ONLY available from (random) crashed heli sites. There could still be lots of high-value equipment at military locations, just not weapons and/or ammo. Make people appreciate that old hunting rifle or revolver they found and stop everyone and their grandmother run around with pimped-out assault rifles.

You could argue that the military has taken all weapons with them when they moved out to combat the infected. These soldiers are now all dead, their weapons lost, or have relocated to other bases. The only military grade weapons are now in the hands of the surviving military who will only patrol the area in helicopters. Or something like that.

Sooner or later some kind of morality system needs to be implemented. Most kills in DayZ are NOT because of a struggle for rare ressources but simply for the lolz. There's a world of difference between stumbling upon another player in the middle of the night in a high-value military compound and shooting 1st and camping the coast head-shooting newbies with a sniper rifle. Some of you might still remember the early days of DayZ, when there still was a lot of player interaction. Half a year and a HUGE influx of new players later and player interaction outside of preformed groups basically dropped to zero. Which was really sad because what happened between strangers in a harsh environment was what really made for memorable gaming moments. PvP is great. And I'm not advocating restricting it. But shooting everything that moves simply is boring as hell in the long run. -

IMO to combat server hopping a system to prevent this should be implemented. It could be as simple as this: -player joins server, clock starts ticking, server hopping attribute is set to 1 -if a player quits and joins a different server within 15 minutes his server hopping attribute adds +1 -if attribute >3 then the player will get a 30 minute ban -server hopping attribute decrease 1 per 30 minutes Such a system would still allow people to switch servers to meet up with friends but would prevent the silly looting mechanics we see with unrestricted server hopping.

Since I stay away from the new seal clubbing ground at Balota AF I haven't actually seen a hostile player in a long time.

I'm currently trying to regenerate blood but it seems that I can't get back to "I'm full" status, no matter how much I eat or drink. I think I didn't see that message since the last patch. My char doesn't seem to be injured or sick, at least I see/hear nothing to that effect. Any ideas?

It's an alpha. An unfinished game in a still early-ish development status. It happens. It will happen again. I already lost three well-equipped chars. So what? If you find char wipes too hard to bear you will have to wait for the final release.

I've only encountered 5 players so far. With three I chatted a bit then we went our ways, one fired at me at the Balota AF when I stumbled upon him but didn't pursue me, one pursued me for a short time swinging a hatchet. Business as usual.
