Large towns should have large radio towers that can broadcast across the entire map. Each tower broadcasts on a fixed frequency. That way a player with a walkie talkie can scan the channels(the channels can be named for the town of the tower eg. channel Electro) and if somebody is in the radio building broadcasting they know they can go therte and find somebody. It will create a hub for players to meet , or fight over.

"What do you do after you are geared up?" is the major flaw in DAYZ , this concept of Earning the right to a new map can fix this problem. If the developers develop a new playable map it should only be accessible to players who have survived 7 days in the Chernarus map.(or attained some other achievement.) This new map should have more of the higher end stuff and Chernarus should have less. This is all about incentive , and the type of achievement will allow the developers to influence playing style. For instance any player with a murder on their record may be unable to enter the new map and thus only be able to get higher end gear by being a bandit. This will mean other players will be less inclined to KOS as it will come at the cost of losing access to the new map. Or they might have a "HELL" map which can only be accessed if you kill at least 10 players. What the conditions are like in this map full of bandits is up to your own imagination. So after accessing the 2nd map you may then need to satisfy a further perriod of survival on the 2nd map to reach the 3rd map and so on. Please discuss......

A current problem with the Mosin rifle is that upon firing it automatically works the action , obscuring the shooters view of bullet splash.(With or without the scope) Simply make it like the game DOD , click to shoot , then click to work the action. You keep the recoil effect in , but the action stays unworked until the shooter clicks the left mouse button again. It's simply a reflection of real life , a bolt-action rifle doesn't work itself . Also , this solution should be quick to do. So First left click ..... BANG Second left click ...Bolt action animation ejects the empty and chambers the next round Third left click ... BANG Rinse and repeat until your magazine is empty.

As the title says , some audio feedback, like a thud or a click, that a door has opened or closed along with a squeak from unoiled hinges. Also I'd like the piano in the piano house to be playable just like in the Warband mods(Napoleonic Wars). Thnx zonn44

Suggestions for the DayZ standalone - thinking outside of the limitations of an Arma 2 mod.

Get rid of all canned food . Force people to hunt to survive. -

I think the addition would be the ability the bury things. Allow the entrenchment tool to dig a hole and give you a certain amount of storage. Perhaps limit the amount of holes each player could dig and erase the hole when the player dies. -

Walkie talkies with a range of about 1km. Should be reasonably common. Lets you talk to anybody who has one also. Makes interacting with strangers more interesting. -
Is it possible for 2 players in a firefight to kill each other?
zonn44 posted a topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Is it possible for 2 players in a firefight to kill each other? In some games the engine mechanics make this impossible. What is the case in Dayz?If 2 players are in a gunfight and both die does that mean there was a 3rd party or is it possible forem to have killed each other? -
Make everyone infected from spawn with just 24 hrs till they turn...
zonn44 posted a topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Upon spawning in every survivor receives a message saying that they have been exposed to the sickness and will in 24 hours become a zombie. The debug screen should include a 24 hour countdown timer. When you consider that the average life expectancy is about 40 minutes some might argue that it won't affect anything. But this suggestion may fundamentally change the way people play the game as everyone now has something in common and the 'loot' will be less valuable as it will only last till you become a zombie. You could add sidequests that may extend their time or make the 24 hr period an average with some turning sooner and others later. It would be very interesting to see the way this affects peoples' behaviour. -
I wish you luck in the standalone game. A server browser is crucial for a successful game. Gamespy is a serious liability ,get rid of it .
-
The browser should include the ingame time . That way people who join a server only to leave it because its too dark or whatever won't put such a load on the hive network. PS(Gamespy sucks bigtime)

Tried a search but no answer. Many other games show the frames per second on screen, is there a command to do this?

Can Zombies hear Direct Channel sounds? Cause I'd like to play Barry Manilow to scare em off.

Each time you log , you reenter at a random point in a 1km radius from you log point.

Easy to fix. Each time you log you reenter at a random point in a 1km radius from where you logged. Ghosting fixed.

What does VISUAL at the bottom of the debug monitor mean?
-
Falling hack on NZ 3 at around 16:20(Sydney Time) Sunday was used I dropped to my death I think all 50 or so others did too. My playing partner noticed the debug monitor disappeared shortly before it happened , so if you notice that log straight away. Of course we died and lost everything, damn sheepshaggers:dodgy:

Yeah it sucks MichealV but I suppose Alphas are designed to draw out the wankers and their exploits so they can't happen in the final game. Hope they find a way to patch it soon. -
A simple way to discourage banditry is to increase the players' Zombie detection distance by 10% per murder. For instance , lets say that the standard distance that a player will be detected by a zombie is 10 metres. Commit 1 murder it increases to 11 metres,2 murders 12 metres and so on until a bandit with 10 murders will have double the Zombie detection distance (20m) and he'll find survival really difficult. If anything this may make being a bandit too difficult to survive. Lets just say that the supernatural Zombies can SMELL your evil, the more murders the more evil the bigger the smell.
