    Player levels?

What do you think of this: Players can elect whether or not they want to participate in PVP on character start. If they do, they can pick up and arm any weapon/suit in the game but can only kill other people who elect to play PVP. Those who don't are limited to pistols and will NEVER be able to PVP. You can delineate the two with skins and maybe chat designations. Of course Zeds remain fair game for both. What do you think? Bandits an survivors can go at it if they wish, those that just want to hunt Zeds and form groups are equally given their wish.

Thanks McSlaughter, mods, can you please move the thread?

    Player levels?

There are a lot of players that don't want it. Of course, not playing/take it or leave it is also an option.Again, I'm saying offer a choice with positives and negatives associated with each choice. Why, given an option, do you think too many people would opt for Non-PVP play?

    Player levels?

The game experts aren't looting for cities for food, they're hunting and grilling and such. Likewise for drinking with canteens and bottles of water. No changes to vehicle mechanics. At any people hoarding vehicles would be a problem, in that case make vehicles unenterable/repairable by players that are in non-PvP status. The point is, full DayZ experience for full PVPers, lighter, less satisfying experience for those who opt out. Or, servers with PvP enabled and servers without.

    Player levels?

Well, not saying get rid of PVP, just give people a choice with the appropriate risk/reward.

    Tired of running it alone

I just want to give you a fair warning to read and heed the Bandit forums. Basically, there are lots of bandits out there who look to join these types of ad hoc groups just to get your location and zero in bandit scum to your location. Just a fair warning. I wish you all the best and hope your group works out, but if you mysteriously get shot up or someone mistakingly throws a flare to attract a Zed horde, know that scum sucking bandits were the cause. Again, good luck mate.

    Why did you shoot me.

In DayZ, the law of the jungle reigns supreme. It's kill or be killed. If I kill someone, I am stronger than them. If I get killed, I was the weaker one. This is DayZ. You can no more make a hungry lion to spare a defenseless baby Impala than you than you could an asshole bandit spare a well-meaning surivivor. I don't camp the south, I head North - anyone who gets in my way gets it from me, or I get it from them. Every time I've tried to make friends or be nice it has NEVER worked out for me. The insidiousness and inherent evil of your fellow man is laid bare with this mod. Learn to live with this, respect this rule. But fear not, you never travel alone, for you see, the spectre of death is always with you...always...
  8. Howdy all, What are ways to develop trust between two players? Is there just no real way to develop trust between two people in DayZ that have never met before? In my first few characters, I would ask for people in chat to see who would want to meet up. I did manage to find one survivor, he had me expose myself as a trust test (he didn't shoot even though he had a good bead on me) but said he couldn't trust me and walked away. I'm not normally coldhearted, but the bandit threads about people manipulating other people just to shoot them in the back has jaded me severely. Yes, I realize this is a game feature, there is no need to remind me or recommend that I stop playing or pursue some other game. I'm afraid the real conclusion to this game is trust is impossible unless you're playing with known acquaintences - but if someone has tips or tricks to build trust I'd like to hear them.

    How to develop trust?

Ahaha, I ran to two survivors once. They shot me, let the zeds feast, shot the zeds, and proceeded to loot my corpse (well I think I did, on respawning in the loading screen I saw someone hovering over me). Ok, the consensus is trust no one.

    First moidah

Well, thanks to the threads of this forum, I committed my very first murder. All the guy had was a flashlight in hand, but I killed him anyways because I knew he'd probably do the same if he had the chance (that and being a murder victim myself numerous times). Ney, if you read this, I do feel bad about it, I really do, but DayZ is all about kill or be killed.

Murder everyone you see regardless of threat or intent, I have learned this is the #1 rule in the bandit code. Is this not true?
