There is no way to specifically show which player killed who. Best you can get is the death message which just shows the person who died.

Private Hive Server Setup thread?
peep replied to brandonwh64's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
The tunngle forums used to be very useful but sadly most of the releases there are out of date. You should take a look at http://dayzprivate.com/ and click 'Get Bliss' and you'll find instructions on how to install it. The instructions aren't terribly difficult to follow so you should be able to figure things out on your own from there. -
You're right, you aren't the Bliss wiki, that's because there isn't one. As far as I'm aware that .dll hasn't been tested at that sort of capacity yet (and for good reason, really) and since you appear to be the first I figured I'd ask how it ran. There is no need for the rude response, if you have an issue with me you should PM me about it because I'm uncertain about your attitude.

It's in the works, but we're running some scripts and programs that need to be ran along with DayZ. Some need to be started before the server starts, and some after it's able to be logged into, so simply using BEC's restart function for example isn't an option. They do, but only two of them have any real powers outside of kick/ban (one of them being me). You'll have to trust the admins and hope that they do what's best for the server. We hope we never give you a reason to think otherwise.
-
That's not dependant on hardware as much as it is on Bliss. If you get your server running with 100 players on it without horrid lag/load times because of a blisshive bottleneck then let me know, I'm interested in doing it myself but don't want to sacrifice quality.
-
My server fits every one of those except it's whitelisted instead of a password, and we don't actively enforce combat logging because that's an uphill battle, it'll be resolved with a script when I can get a functioning one. I have a thread for my server on these forums, so it shouldn't be too hard to find. Take a look and go signup if it interests you!

DaRT - A Lightweight DayZ (and ArmA) RCon Tool (v2.1 | 11/10/2015)
peep replied to domistyle's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Works great except it doesn't seem to be able to load my banfile. Any idea why that would be? When the program starts it says it failed to receive banfile and refreshing the banfile never populates the list. The only thing I could see being wrong is the entires in it that are done by the community banlist not lining up with the format it's looking for, perhaps? It does show up on the Arma 2 rcon tool though. -
Attention: Rocket. Please review the DayZ server host rules.
peep replied to Zoop's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
The arbitrary rules are why people are slowly switching to private hives. If he doesn't want this to continue happening, the rules needs to be looked at. People need to be able to administrate their own servers. The rules feel like it's something EA came up with, not a community mod.- 215 replies

[PSA: Server Admins] How to Optimize your DayZ Server for MAXIMUM Performance.
peep replied to a topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Thanks for this, I haven't been having any performance issues so far but that's even better because these settings likely won't hurt anything negatively. -
You can rent a VDS from them for about that same price as you'd pay for a slotted DayZ server from anyone else and get better performance and control over the server. https://www.nfoservers.com/order-virtual-dedicated-server.php You'd want a two core running windows, but a three core is ideal.

US 237 Thread - General Information and Discussion
peep posted a topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
This server has been up for only a few days now but so far everything has been going very smoothly so I've decided to open this thread for feedback and questions/concerns. I'm currently seeing around 15-25 normal players and a bit more exposure would be great. Server Name: US237 Difficulty: Veteran Third Person: On Crosshair: Off Name Tags: Off Death Messages: Off This server is not owned by any clan, but only a very small group of friends. Everyone is welcome to play here and you are free to do what you wish without worry of stepping onto a territory heavily guarded by ten admins with clan tags. We are very light on the banhammer but highly discourage combat disconnects. The server is watched over by myself frequently and is restarted throughout that day as necessary. There has never to date been an issue with lag and the server CPU has never gone over 50% usage. Donations are highly appreciated but are not required by any means. The machine hosting this server has been rented for almost two years now, and is in no danger of going down anytime soon. But because it is expensive and is being paid for by only a few people instead of a large clan, I'll stick a donation link here: https://[email protected] I'll update this OP as the server develops more and I have more information. Thanks for checking us out! -
https://www.nfoservers.com/order-virtual-dedicated-server.php I highly recommend getting one of these partly because they're one of if not the highest quality server hosts in North America (they're very well known in the competitive community for various games), but mainly because they're cheaper than both a slotted and dedicated server, while not having the drawbacks of a VPS. The OS is virtual, but a portion of hardware is dedicated to your OS, so there is very little actual hardware sharing involved, much of this is explained well on their page, and it's all true. They only run on the latest generation hardware and spend a lot of money improving and expanding infrastructure all the time, so the end result is a reasonably cheap and high performance DayZ server, which has been my experience. I've had my server for two years now using it for various things and would never go to any other host. Their support is also top notch, it's not uncommon for the company president to respond to support tickets with extremely helpful advice and each response is generally within 30 minutes, 24/7. So that's pretty much my testimonial right there, and that is not an affiliate or referral link or anything like that. I'm only recommending them because of how satisfied I am, which a lot of other people sadly are not seeing with other hosts.

I'm limited to a small 15GB SSD to store my Arma 2 server installation in, but the total size of my folder is about 25GB. What, if anything, aside from log files can I delete to free up some space? I was thinking things like maps that aren't chernarus, and other game files that the server shouldn't have to use for DayZ. Though I'm also afraid that deleting anything at all would cause it to complain and not start. Is this possible at all?
-
Do you know if it uses the base Arma 2 folder at all or only the Arrowhead one? I renamed arma 2 base and the server started up fine and since the addons folder has already been copied from it I don't think it's necessary anymore. If that's true, I will have slimmed my install down to 15GB and as long as I don't let my logfiles get too huge it should fit on there just fine.

Not sure why so many people are renting slotted servers when you can rent a box for about the same price.

Correct restart procedure.....
peep replied to [email protected]'s topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
What kind of monitoring script are you using to restart the server when it gets shutdown automatically? Edit: Nevermind, I'm blind -
Did anyone in this thread make the config file change they recommended earlier today?

US 237 Thread - General Information and Discussion
peep replied to peep's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Sorry for not paying attention to this thread, I forgot about it :( I've since lowered the slot count to 60, that seems to be a good max player number, increasing it beyond that was mainly a test. I know there is a way to lock the server automatically for a few seconds when somebody connects to prevent spam but I'm not sure if that's allowed nor do I know how to turn it on. Other than that the server should be running completely smooth at this point, there was a desync issue earlier but it wasn't entirely isolated to our server, and I think it had something to do with a setting that was recently recommended as being turned off. I turned it back on though and the desync seems to have gone away, the issue it fixed isn't worth the lag. -
Getting this error when trying to start my server after updating to the latest patch, why is this?
-
Is there any way to downgrade easily?
-
Anything new on this?
