    whats going on?

Sorry for thread necromancy, but a search on these forums for 1.7.3 yields no results. My friends got updated to 1.7.3, and I see 6 servers up with this version. Nothing about this version anywhere on this site, no announcements, nothing as far as I can tell.
  2. This though, please a few more bicycles. Possibly make bicycles have unique properties, that they can't be saved, so that they will only be used as temporary transportation, and more people would get a chance to use them.
  3. I think its good. The problem is that at a certain point of a server, one or more clans will have stockpiled all vehicles for themselves. I'm in a clan myself, and were doing this (right now its going crap though, we just have a bunch of boats :D) but I can understand the frustration. At the same time, when you DO find a vehicle with your buddies, the feeling of blazing by on the road, oh man. And part of that feeling comes from knowing just how rare that thing you're sitting in is.

    I lol'd, then i cried a bit..

Classic alpha moment indeed. We shrug our shoulders and get on with it, but still, when you have a nice find, you can't help get a little bit attached to it. I found my first Coyote earlier this evening in fact. Paranoia levels rising steadily to the point I'm almost looking forward to my next respawn. :D

    I'm a Zombie Lord.

I was expecting a massive train of zombies, but this was still pretty funny. :D
  6. I dunno, I kinda like that post where Rocket borrows a couch to someone and it's used for hardcore anal sex instead of sitting or sleeping. OnT : I'm just glad reserved slots are being worked on. In the long run, for Arma 3 or standalone I wouldn't mind paying a subscription fee for official servers. Endgame wise, servers might as well be local, considering that vehicles, tents and one can assume, any future bases or other sweet clan type content stuff are local.
  7. Ever occur to you that repairing and using vehicles is more of a group activity? Not saying you can't do it solo, but then you have to realize that its not safe.
  8. Flying vehicles does not take you out of the game. What do they run on? The raw joy of its crew? Nope. Fuel. Fuel which can be made more rare and require a greater effort of scrounging and scavenging for a group to be able to use them. Don't look at everything in this game from a solo survivor standpoint. The endgame should be groups working to use stuff like this. More flying vehicles please.
  9. This. Some people have standards and principles. Some don't.
  10. Stop asking. He won't give it to you. PvP and banditry are key to this mod, and will stay. Deal with it. No need for arguments. This is what Rocket has stated again and again. Don't like it? Make your own post-apocalyptic zombie mod. This mod can lose half its player base and still do alright.
  11. So then I'd guess you'd be sitting in the treeline for 20 minutes waiting to snipe them? Hmm.
  12. This is not so much survivors vs bandits, as groups/clans vs other groups/clans. Some might identify themselves as survivors, but being in a hostile environment, quite naturally might not be inclined to take chances with people. This is just the nature of the game, and shouldn't be a letdown. This is possibly the most potentially awesome sandbox game ever. The tweaking bit, that comes with the base building and other endgame content. Then clans will actually thrive and grow, because they will want to recruit more people to accomplish more meaningful tasks. Try to join a clan or get your friends into it, you will enjoy it more.
  13. What is the point indeed. Mindlessly hoarding is boring.
  14. lmao this must be the high end of the paranoia spectrum. :D
  15. Its a sandbox game, of course PvP and banditry will be rampant, even when they add decent group content (base building, electricity, stuff to block logins within a radius, maybe more vehicles, etc). You had the right idea at the end of your post though. Thats the way to go about things in a sandbox game. Change the rules yourself. Get a group together, join a clan, get some friends into it. Do things your own way. It can be done, even if its hard, you just have to realize that you can't impose your own mindset and playstyle on the majority of the players out there. Roll with it or leave.
  16. Usually, most vehicles have been grabbed by various groups and clans, and will still be stored outside map if you believe the other thread about vehicles outside map boundaries not despawning. Best case scenario they decide to keep it inside the map, and then its still down to luck or their lack of creativity/abundance of stupidity that decides if you'll be able to find them.
  17. @OP : We rejoice and pay up. That is all.
  18. I like Chernarus. But if its gonna be a much bigger map, a snowy area would be nice. Not Antarctica though. It would be enough to just have a area where you had to watch your temperature constantly, as well as zombies and bandits. Also would give a reason for a white camo suit, and not making the ghillie suit the ultimate stealth tool.

Stary Sobor a waste of time?

Not just snipers in and of themselves, the whole area around Stary is rampant with server hoppers. I find Stary is never worth the trouble, I'd say its more dangerous than NWAF even.
  20. Most players I've encountered use alt-F4. Gotta love it when you come across people like yourself though, who don't. Gives you hope.
  21. Details are not so important, as long as the bases can be more fortified and secure than the current state, but not 100% safe. Nothing should be safe in this game.
  22. At times I can get a sense of relief from dying. Off the paranoia train, at least until I finish the initial gear up. Then its back on. :)

    You Assholes

You won't. Rocket has stated banditry and PvP are here to stay. If you don't like old school griefing and ganking type PvP and want it to be a completely fair and level playing field, play Counterstrike or some shit. If you don't like PvP at all, go play L4D. Hanging around on these forums moaning about PvP will get you nowhere. Even if this mod lost half its player base because of a great migration of the anti-PvP moaners, it wouldn't matter. It will be ported to Arma 3 in time regardless and be a great mod, and less popular mods than this have been made standalone in the past (Killing Floor for example).

    Controversial Topic: BANDITRY IS DEAD.

At the very least we should be able to disarm someone who is unconscious. Then I wouldn't mind leaving them alive, unless the situation called for some actual killing (other clan, or just feeling like it :D).
