    Lingor Island Chit Chat.

I like Lingor, but its glitchier than vanilla DayZ and that's saying something. :D Fun if you're bored with vanilla DayZ though.
  2. Introduce windage as another factor when sniping, presto, many less successful snipers. Everyone wins.
  3. Actually, I doubt there is much point to any data mining or bug finding from here on out. The standalone has been greenlit. I know they said they will continue to support the mod, but newsflash, they only said this for entitled retards who bought a game out of their own free will for a alpha stage mod and will rage endlessly about that fact. Wait for the standalone alpha to roll out. Unless the pros of current stage of the mod outweigh the cons for you. I haven't played as much or as long as some, but at this time there are just too many cons not to mention I'm bored at lack of endgame content. It's alright though, DayZ already won my heart, as soon as the standalone is in anything even approaching a playable state I will be there. :)
  4. The main deciding factor for me will be base building/endgame content for groups. I hope they realize that the potential for this game lies in the hardcore sandbox angle, attracting guilds, clans and communities here for PvP action amidst zombie survival. But this hinges on that content.

    The DayZ Standalone Wishlist

Lots of good ideas in there. Mostly the stuff pertaining to base building, but I also enjoyed the harder zombies, zombie hordes, prepper maps and GORE especially. :)
  6. Some people just don't understand that DayZ started as a mod for Arma 2. It doesn't matter the majority of us bought it for DayZ alone. We are not entitled to shit because of it. Get rid of that childish mentality and grow up, possibly get a job as well. I'd pay up to 60 EUR for the standalone.
  7. This could be the most fail petition in the history of petitions.
  8. I gotta say, I feel bad for you, hardly anything worse than backstabbers. Try to join a proper clan or gaming community instead though.

    What a h**king joke...

You were just insanely unlucky. Also, leave it running, you'll die from hunger or thirst before long. At least if you're moving.

Server hopping to for some action.

Unfortunately at this point there is only so much you can do in the endgame. I can't wait for proper base building.

Dayz Current State is Game Over

The game is over because you can't destroy or lose the amazing amount of loot you hoarded? Alpha should explain the glitchy tents. Let me give you some advice though, if this is the only thing that is keeping you from playing. Leave those servers, forget about your loot. Start over from scratch on different servers. What's stopping you? Still bored? I don't blame you. But this is alpha, and more content will be added eventually, giving us something to strive for in the endgame as groups and clans. Base building, etc. Whining about the glitchyness of tents and your inability to lose loot you hoarded with your friends is just pathetic. Noone cares or is impressed by this. There are much more urgent problems need sorting.

    Why this mod is failing

Rocket has said that more group oriented content (base building, possibly other stuff like electricity and holding cities etc) are in the pipeline. There is your endgame. It will still be a sandbox, and dog eat dog out there, but people will be more motivated to find a clan, and play with others. But of course, some people, not necessarily the OP, will still whine even when we have group content along those lines, wanting forced group mechanics and debilitating bandit consequences and quests and gold coins. Those people just need to realize that sandbox games aren't for them.

    Why this mod is failing

Mod is not failing by any definition of the word. Right now, a part of the player population is under the delusion that this is L4D. Banditry isn't going anywhere. Either adapt to a sandbox game mentality, and do something about it yourself, start the Whitehat Anti-Bandit Fluffy Motherfuckers clan, or play something else. That is all. Even after this part of the player population leaves, the game (standalone soon enough hopefully) will have enough of a following to be viable for Bohemia to support.

    death of a legend

    lol noone cares.
  15. Been out of game for almost 2 weeks (most of my group is on vacation and I don't fancy playing solo) and I decide to check the forums to see if there's been any changes. Some things never change. <3 a good ol' rage. :D
  16. Stick to the fallout theme and keep up the good work.

    DayZ - Scaring People

I applaud your patience. Good stuff. :)
  18. Yeah, seriously, it could be nice. :)
  19. This is however also true, we need to be able query server time through the ingame browser. Often a servers timezone in description actually says nothing about ingame time, they change it too often. A related issue to this is the propensity of people to only play on day servers. I do it myself of course, because I know that chances are at least half of that low pop on the night server has NVG's. IMO NVG's should just not be ingame. They might be too common due to duping though, because I've never seen a single pair and I've done my fair share of looting military buildings. But I digress. Ghosting, real douchebag move, needs a fix along with the logoffski when shot.
  20. +1. No legit player would have a problem with that.
  21. Laughable insight into human nature there. There are many, maybe not a majority, but many players who will not use these advantages. It's called principles. As for the deathmatch/sniper whine, I generally don't even comment on that anymore, but I'll point out that a world full of killers, in and of itself promotes teamplay. You just won't be teaming up with anyone from ingame. Join a clan, and realize that building trust in a full PvP, full drop ruleset will never happen on the fly no matter what you do. Some clans might be a bit paranoid now though, especially seeing that once you have a 5-6 man team, you're set, you don't need to recruit more. This will likely change with more group oriented content will come, but you will still need a clan. This is not WoW. You can't expect to get a LFG system, or whatever would practically amount to that here without ruining the game. Look at Ultima Online and Trammel. I hope Rocket or the devs won't get sidetracked by that kind of nonsense. You might say, "Dude, UO had reds and blues", and I realize it's not a perfect analogy. This game is not a MMORPG like UO. I could live with some sort of humanity system, but punishing bandits, I will never abide, and luckily neither will Rocket. Edit : @OP ; Hoppers are a blight, but standing around longer than necessary in one of the spots most frequented by hoppers, possibly waiting for your hopping friend is just stupid. I suspect you'll be back though. :)
  22. This should be official. Rocket and guys, you need to hire a few radio people to broadcast and talk 24/7. :D News reports from the game world, random commentary, commercials, interviews with random players or devs. This has a high level of awesome potential, even if I personally would only tune in while driving or camping a location waiting to rendezvous with my group. In the meantime, this goes on bookmark. :) Great idea.
  23. There are indeed worse fates in DayZ. Good story, and good sports.
