The most rounds I've ever had to fire in a single fight dayz with an AKM was 2 and a half 30 rnd mags, it was a long range suppression contest between me and 3 guys with SKS's and Blazes etc, fun moment all in all, felt like Arma 2

likewise Knives are more common, so you can go murder a deer and turn him into a backpack

Wind and proper ballistics in Dayz like ace mod has will make sniping better, making it easy will just break the game. With proper ballistics, shooting from close enough range, so 300-400 meters [within retaliation range for people with AKs and stuff] is easy enough for anyone to do, but beyond that takes skill, knowledge and patience. Something which sniping in dayz should require.

I prefer the blaze and sporter to the SKS.

It is being added, afaik the artwork is finished now it needs animations and such like.

Chernarus isn't an island and should remain so, the Chernarus in arma 2 is only a small portion of the full thing, so they could expand westwards into that and northwards into Russia, and add Utes.

Once loot spawning is finished, like things spawn logically [on tables, in cupboards, in containers etc] this will be viable, so like you could have them in locked lockers that have to be forced open somehow.

Not foreign rare rifles like the L96, but I'd like to see more large caliber civilian hunting rifles like the CZ rifle from the mod or a remington 700 and some Russian rifles like the SV98 and SVD. I've been saying it since the mod released, if they added the ACE II ballistics/sniping system I would be the happiest man on these forums.

I think the whole fitness thing will revolve heavily around weight and emphasize enjoyment over pure realism, for example someone wearing a press vest, gas mask, maska helm carrying an Mtn backpack packed to the brim with ammo cans and pistols while holding 2 primaries with an MP5 somewhere in their inventory will suffer from it, but those who travel light will have few issues. One can but hope.

I love the idea of locked doors and lockers etc that spawn good loot, lockpicking isn't a skill everyone knows but being able to break through locks with sledgehammers, shooting the lock or for harder locks a small amount of plastic explosive would be cool, and add another element to the stealth aspect of the game as these actions would make considerable amount of noise

Perma death means when you die, you are dead, you start as a new survivor and entirely new human being. RL factors such as 'I know this player irl' or whatever shouldn't factor into DayZ whatsoever.

Loot spawning needs to make sense, so opening a locker in a police station might give you 2 CR 75 Mags and maybe a CR 75, and then there might be another locker with ammo nearby in the station, whether or not it has ammo being dependent on rarity etc. That said, having a revolver with 3 rounds should feel special, or at least there should be a mode [like 2017] where ammo is super rare etc.

Oh how could I forget Prigorodki on an overcast, grey, dull day, such a nice feeling in the place. -
I've looted about 10 crash sites now and all but one ahve given nothing but weapon cleaning kits and chemlights, the last one had loads of M4 attachments, ammo and a damaged flashbang

I've always found the mosin to be less consistent than the CR527 or SKS in terms of knockdown power with chest shots personally but it seems to be ok in .49

I seem to remember hearing the current AKM sounds in operation flashpoint and the current AK101 sounds from RH's Russian armed forces mod in ArmA 2, so nostalgic.

Very good point, I'm sure the current system is WIP, a nice feature to see in future would be a noise rating for gear, so if someone is wearing a smersh vest with loose bullets in it they'll make noise accordingly.

Awesome, I think NWAF could also use some changes to make it believable, NEAF and Balota both don't look capable of handling passenger jets, they should turn the southern barracks at NWAF into the military part and make it bigger, but make the hangar areas more civilian like, oh one can wish.

Or they could push the map outwards 3 or 4 km north and south and leave every single inch of that new area as open countryside with small villages and farms. Myshkino used to be such a chill spot, I used to hide vehicles there in the mod. -
Looted the whole thing at night, tents yielded food and water bottles, the barracks with the bunk beds had a boonie, boots, a potato and a MASKA helmet

Just looted the Myshkino camp at night in very stormy foggy weather, it was a spooky experience but over all disappointing, I found 4 half full water bottles and some food from all the tents, and the barrack building thing yielded 2 potatoes and a MASKA helm. Not worth the risk IMO.

Hope the Steyr is semi auto only either to replicate a civ version or the Aussie/Irish defense force Steyrs.
