try circling around the zombies and aim for the head, keep the aiming reticle on the head until the hit connects.

New Ammo Type:7.62 tokarev and the tt33 ppsh41 and the c96
a_ruttle replied to agouti's topic in Suggestions
I fail to see the logic behind the argument against adding lots of different ammo types, with a proper loot spawning system you'd negate the problem of finding the right ammo for the gun you have, and the other point they constantly swirl about multiple ammo types being confusing for noobs is just stupid anyway. But things as they are I'd be happy with 2 Russian pistol rounds [7.62 and 9x18] and 7.54R. Oh and a wide variety of shotgun shells [buck/slug/rocksalt/beanbag] -
Do Zombies Dream Of A Good Nights Sleep? (Zombie feedback)
a_ruttle replied to SmashT's topic in General Discussion
Aim for the head, no one holds your hand in dayz, if you can't reliably kill zombies without getting hurt, you pay the penalty until you can. -
Small IEDs like a grenade and string or a fertiliser bomb [small one] would be pretty cool as would old soviet landmines like the POMZ etc. But they'd have to be rare almost to the point of being novelty items or they'd quickly make all high end loot spots on the map not worth going near.

The Community's List of Suggested Weapons for Dayz Standalone (Version: 1.29)
a_ruttle replied to alexeistukov's topic in Suggestions
You mean the mod that they removed the M107 and KSVK from because they were gamebreaking/retarded/op/un-necessary/stupid? that mod? As a side note: All in favour of the forums auto censoring the words 'Barrett' '.50cal' 'KSVK' 'anti-material' and 'M107'? -
And the award for the most commonly misspelled word on the Dayz forums goes to, Vehicles*
-
I was thinking this the other day, simple yet great suggestion.
-
A proper ballistic system like that in ACE II mod would mean most people wouldn't be able to consistently hit targets beyond 300 meters.
-
all of my yes, I can't wait until they add weight and fatigue, queue players with mountain packs stashed full of full ammo cans collapsing on session join.
-
That image is such an idealisation of dayz, literally Nobody in game runs about in a 2 slot shirt and pair of jeans with a high end weapon. It's always the same mash up of green raincoat/ttsko/gorka and either an MTN backpack or hunting backpack, I'd love to see some sort of incentives to travelling light like the lad with the AK in the pic.

Visual indication of hitting your target

Sadly no, it was attached to a post I saw on these forums. -
I couldn't agree more with this post, instead of expanding the map with Chernarus+ they've just cluttered it and packed more stuff in at the expense of wilderness. I hope in the future once they've got all the core gameplay stuff done they expand the map massively, using all of Chernarus potentially. http://i1334.photobucket.com/albums/w647/XTRALarsiano/screenshot20091107at628_zps73fa005e.jpg

It was stated a while ago in a live stream pre alpha that they had changed the weapon holding animations etc to be more like those of an amateur and not someone with military training.
-
I always thought the caliber thing was just an issue of it being early in development and there being bigger priorities at the time, It would be nonsensical to take a hardcore game like dayz and dumb it down because people are too lazy/stupid to use the 'inspect' fuction on their weapon/ammo or google, or even just play by trial and error for the 40 minutes it takes to learn how to play.
-
Bears and wolves are in the PBO files I'm fairly sure.
-
Expanding Chernarus plus to cover ALL of Chernarus would be nice, and provide a map in which vehicles are essential not just a luxury. Of course you'd need at least 80 player servers for it to be good. http://i1334.photobucket.com/albums/w647/XTRALarsiano/screenshot20091107at628_zps73fa005e.jpg

That Green mountain death was quite possibly my doing, would love to know the time period and server that the heatmaps were taken from.

Visual indication of hitting your target

They had that small showcase thing a while ago showing a wounding system where an injured survivor was limping away clutching his abdomen having been shot. -
It's not a case of why would you put one on, its more a case of why can't we put one on, I don't see why not.
-
inb4 M109 confirmed. I don't mind there being an M1 Garand in game, but I hope it forms part of a group of western weapons that players could expect to find once every 100 hours of play, weapons that really do give your survival value.
-
It's not that it's too easy that bothers me, it's too unrealistic, I'd like to be able to walk into a house, open a cupboard and find 2 cans of tuna and a can of peaches stacked neatly inside, with rotten fruit in a fruit bowl etc, as a tradeoff, the next few houses will have been cleared [during the outbreak or whatever] out and yield no food. Coupled with the hopefully wip food spawning system, there's no hunting involved in getting it from animals, they spawn in the same place and stand still.

Mustard gas is a blister agent, it works on skin contact as well as ingestion/inhalation.
-
You have to actually have a bit of skill with your melee weapons now, 1 axe blow the head = insta kill.
-
This game needs rifle slings as a loot item [common item, craftable from animals too] that you need to attach to the weapon to sling it over your shoulder, but support for having multiple weapons should come after a weight/fatigue system is in place.
