No helicopters, no planes. YES BOATS YES LADAS I would thoroughly enjoy scuba diving from arma 3, however that seems unlikely to ever happen

The last thing this game needs is more military weapons like the L85, they should stick to CDF weaponry etc and make that rare as golden cat balls, moustaches and top hats however....

IRL this gun has 1 .22LR barrel and 1 shotgun barrel, yet in dayz it fires 2 7.62, is it just unfinished?

Right, no problem with this idea provided that these servers aren't on the hive so one can't just easy mode to get good gear then go onto a pvp server

Realistic ballistics was in ACEII mod for arma 2, can't be that difficult to put it into dayz

Hi all, Having played a few hours of the standalone and having found a few 'burlap sacks' while looting I remembered an old idea I had during my time playing the mod. The idea is that survivors can use items of clothing [old T-shirts etc] and things like burlap and paint [could be added in] or even grass and foliage around them to make camoflage to attach to clothing, backpacks and rifles [i.e. camo wraps]. Also as an idea for a replacement to just finding pre-made ghillie suits of set colour as loot, being able to make your own ghillie [or any other piece of makeshift camo clothing that comes to mind], again using burlap or old t-shirt rags and local foliage, which would effect the colour scheme of the suit. As the standalone sees survivors with trousers, top, headgear, gloves and boots it could be made so that one could craft a camoflage top with one of those special vests they [ghillie users] use to attach burlap and foliage to [would be added in] and some long grass or whatever foliage is around. I got the modular ghillie idea from the ArmA II Chernarussian independent 'Scout' class who wears a ghillie covering his back and head but not legs. If you've read this far thanks and please leave feedback and your own ideas aswell, I personally would like to see a system like this in the game.

That's a great idea IMO, IRL you know where hurts and how so. -
Firstly I'd like it if military grade weapons like AKs and M16s [or even stuff that isn't CDF issue kit] to be rare like NVGs were in the Mod. Secondly, in terms of guns I'd like to see a variety overload, loads of different types of essentially the same weapon so like 4 different .22lr rifles, a few different types of double barrel, some old WW2 stuff like the Mosin already in. Today when I tried to join the server I usually play on it went to their custom loading screen, with the admins names etc. got to about 3/4 loaded then stopped. ArmA didn't crash but after 30 minutes waiting I decided it wasn't going to work and tried again, same problem. I tried different servers but I only got as far as "receiving data 0kbs/0kbs" before that stopped, I tried verifying the game cache on steam, verifying Day Z via six launcher. On one attempt after trying the almighty "restart PC" The loading bar filled up and the timer at the bottom right appeared, but froze at 0. I tried again and I was back to the first problem. Any Solutions? thanks.

Arma 3 will have a proper armour system with customiseable gear i.e. load bearing vests and flak jackets id say they'll be lootable items when day Z ends up on Arma 3s engine -
It would make the ghillie suit useless they dissapear for a reason "bush wookies" arent that much of a problem if you are alert and careful, thats the problem with most Day Z players they never played ofp or arma 1+2 and never learned the art of spending hours crawling trying to be as stealthy as possible its not hard to predict where "bush wookies" will be or where their sight lines will cover use this to counter them with an axe to the back of the head

After sifting through hundreds of "Remove the L85 AWS!!!1111" and "OMFG Remove SNIPERZ!!!1111" it really does make my day to see such a great suggestion post, This is the sort of stuff that we should be angry for not already having in game... good job -
The whole thing about day Z is if you want to survive going to places guaranteed to have snipers overwatching you have to be patient, comb nearby potential hides for snipers do a little countersniping realistically even if you had the arty you wouldn't know where the sniper is anyway. The only use for arty in Day Z is griefing by firing into say cherno or elektro, your suggestion is bollocks

It's not the weather. The view distance is set server side to reduce latency. Currently I don't think it would be a good idea to turn it up as sniping ties into view distance. Sniping in Day Z uses the vanilla Arma system where only the effects of gravity effect your shot. With just gravity to contend with experienced snipers [those like me who have been playing the Arma series for a while and have played/sniped with their preferred view distance setting and grown accustomed to it] could kill players in one shot from 1.5 km or more away. If they implemented a more realistic system for the long range menace that are snipers such as the ACE2 sniper mechanic then an increased view distance would be a viable option. -

I came to this thread to post the same suggestion ACE 2 sniping would be good unfortunately too many people would refuse to take the time to learn how to use the ACE sniping system in the editor and just complain about not being to snipe anymore. -
The winchester is not a shotgun, it is a repeater action carbine firing a rifle bullet althought he game labels it a shotgun, also you can convert M1014 ammo into double barrel ammo and vice versa currently.

Yeah, you don't respawn either if you want to use that, It's not a simulator, it's not realistic, It's authentic there's a difference between realistic and authentic. The world has yet to see realistic in a videogame. With regards to your sniping spot theory I agree, see my other reply on this thread for an easy solution.

I think he knows that already, hence he mentioned the fact that you can gain no advantage from your killcam as you spawn 30 minutes away from where you died, unarmed. It would be a nice feature, for those who don't want to see a killcam it isn't difficult to make it an option for players to have or not based on individual preference, adding an option for the killer to choose whether his victim is shown a killcam or not. It would be nice to see their perspective on those deaths where you have no idea whether you were shot from 50 meters away or 500. There's no need to insult people for expressing their suggestions on the suggestions section of the forum.
