    Has been suggested hundreds of times since the mod released, NO, sniper rifles are not the problem, in fact, snipers are far less likely to shoot you than a dude with an M4 who bumps into you on a corner

    There are lootable maps of the area, youre obviously new, give it anything between 2 weeks and 6 weeks and you wont need a map, or better yet play arma 2 and fly helicopters about

    all the old milsim lads I know from Arma 2 ACE and PR playing tend to be the sound lads who favour player interaction over KoSing for whatever reason [fear, loot etc], we've had enough killing on the arma engine to sort of blunt its novelty [but by no means entirely, kills in dayz feel more 'valuable' than a kill in a shooter like]. The majority of groups I see rolling in numbers killing freshies etc are shite players who rely on peppering you up close with M4s before you can react, I fired on a group with an SKS a while ago from about 300 meters away, prone on a hill, easily spottable, as they ran across a field south of gorka, they literally just spazzed out and failed at sprinting away.

    Well, thats the subject isn't it, PvP as it was in the early days of the mod, when you saw a dude, weren't sure if he was a bandit or not then got shot at and scurried away heart racing like no game ever got it going before to begin your tense duel/standoff, was very good, for me the best PvP and best rush of any game ever. Nowadays in the SA, everyone WILL kill you on sight bar some freshspawn, literally everyone, either because they want your [ruined] loot, are afraid that you want their [ruined] loot or because they're bored and are trying to force the old tense DayZ combat feeling by just running from kill to kill. People value their loot too much in DayZ, perhaps the re introduction of tents or a similar system could reduce the amount of fear KOSing, but it could also increase it, with groups running around with nothing really to lose as they have spare loot stashed away. The KOS question has been unanswered for years.

  8. The List Weapons SVD (also known as SV-98 Dragunov, the standard Soviet Military sniper rifle for years) Im sure you've already been corrected, but the SV98 and the SVD are two completely different weapons, both should worm their way into the game

I think the only military weapons that should be in DayZ should be those used by the CDF, Russians, Chedaki and NAPA guerillas and a few USMC weapons, This leaves plenty of room for a wide variety of military grade weapons while not going into the territory of weapons you wouldn't really find in Chernarus like AUGs, G36s and L85s. That I'd also like the spawn chance for top end military loot to be very very rare, and new more realistic military buildings and interiors, It seems doubtful that a CDF soldier is going to leave an M4 sitting on his bunk, new buildings like armouries would be shlick.

    or they could go realistic, and drift away from military weapons like they said they would and make it a semi auto civilian version, leaving only CDF weapons like ak74s as the only fully auto weapons

    This has received way too much hate, lets think about it, there would be heavy weapons like dshks and mortars etc at cherno military facilities, so its not unrealistic, but they could make them like ACE2 support weapons, very heavy, have to be broken down, so no good to lone players, and replace backpacks

    Hmm for life before DayZ, I think it's kind of implied that you washed up ashore by the spawn points, given that, more maritime previous occupations would make sense, navy jobs [pilot, fleet protection, engineer, officer etc.], merchant seaman [doctor, engineer, ships officer, private security], fisherman [native to chernarus? can speak chernarussian (which could bring in a language element where by you cant read packaging when you use the inspect feature)]

    The idea of people running around in a zombie wasteland with a mosin on their back, a sawn off in the backpack, a revolver in their chest holster and an M4 in their hands is stupid, they need to add in negative effects to travelling with lots of weight.
