I quit playing this game about a month ago. So many hackers; so little fun. What did I do? Went out and got a life. Ok, re-got, actually. I hadn't worked for 7 months (thanks to Bush/Cheney crashing the world's economy), but got employed a week ago by a Big 3 oil company and more than I was making at another Big 3. Ah, such is life. But - even if I were still unemployed, this game sucks balls. Sure, it's alpha; cheaper to have us test it than hire REAL programmer/gamer types to test it. Ah! Rocket went to the BIll Gates school of software development! Write it and let the end-user test it! And Gates was never a programmer or a manager; he was a con artist; conned the guy who wrote DOS out of his software by lying his ass off. Much like Rocket is conning us out of money and time. Being in alpha isn't about debugging it or they wouldn't be banning people for hacking; stopping the hack attacks is what they OUGHT to be doing, and they can only do that NOW (cause they are out of development) by having real script kiddies and hackers beat on the product. It's free; if it cost $60 I could see banning people. But not for frickin' FREE. Rocket needs to man up, buy a pair, and fix the system (since it will stay a mod as well as go separate). I've written software for 30 years, and in my life I've never seen such a POS, nor have I ever seen an Alpha released to the public. And then they BAN people accidentally (cause BI are MORONS) and don't unban them??? They must be Republicans. No morals, no honor, no courage and no shame. Fuck this; I'd rather be forced to dig out my Pong game and play it non-stop for 48 hours than play this again. And even if I was forced to play, I wouldn't ever play with someone who cheats others out of the cost (time and money) of ARMA/DayZ) like Rocket/BI do with the 'accidental' bans. (I already said that banning in Alpha is stupid, but I wanted to clarify this one point.) BI/Rocket are, to me, thieves and liars and have no honor. Worf would tear them a new one.

It seems, that since weapons are eventually saved to the server, that Rocket could inspect everything saved in backpacks, tents and vehicles, and eliminate non-Dayz weapons, whatever. But - no; that seems to easy - plus, I'm sure he's too busy shuttling back and forth to the bank.

Um... not. Of course, if the Arma guys and Rocket spent as much time hacker-proofing the system as they spend developing new mods/features, we wouldn't have this problem. The real issue is that hacker-proofing games does not pay. Where's the ROI? I quit Battlefield 3 because of hackers; it was the first multi-player game I'd ever played - this was the 2nd. Now, this is the 2nd game I'm quitting. Lame developers more interested in new content than fixing current content; developers not interested at all in stopping hackers. Why are there companies like EvenBalance and Battleye? Because developers can't be bothered to protect their games. The existence of EB and BE are proof that developers are just greedy hacks that don't care about the users.

Typically, it's hackers like you that disparage people who report hackers. I'm surprised your handle isn't "you mad bro?".

If you think the cheating is going to be diminished - you're dreaming. Artificial Aiming just announce an aimbot/ESP for Arma. They were busted on BF3 (not sure if they're back up yet) as was another group. Hackers are lame; the best punishment is that they have to live with themselves - and they never change as they get older. They're always asswipes.

Have you ever noticed that it's hackers that disparage hacker reporting? I ran into that a LOT on BF3. It's just that over there, the hackers are more clever most of the time. Here, they're just children who's parents give them too much money - instead of giving them parenting. Studies have shown that cheats grow up to be cheats; no ethics or morals.

Was in 3rd person; no-one around. No sound - just died. THEN - someone msged me that their 'bro' had killed me in another server yesterday. Yesterday, I was hacked, also. How would anyone know who they killed unless they picked them to die?

I would like to suggest that the option to remove trees/grass be taken out. AYFKM?? I killed a guy in a Ghille suit; he was the lone clump of grass on a slope that looked like it had just burned. Of course, he saw grass right around him, so I'm sure he thought he was hidden. NOT! Makes a Ghille suit useless. If a kid's computer can run the game, they shouldn't be playing. Just another GREEDY mod by Rocket to up the player count, and I'd like to suggest that he get a life.

Hard to know what you're talking about. The post is ALL about KICKing, until this part, and it has to do WHAT with the rest of the post? Logically, when you talk ONLY about kicking, and then say, "In short..." - that makes no logical sense. How do you sum up a talk about kicking by issuing 3 sentences about banning? I've been e-mailing with 'Anthony'; nothing was mentioned about this. Damage done. I'll have a registered agent's name and phone number soon; filing suit through Harris County Precinct Court #5 in Houston, TX for my refund. I don't sue people often (once every 4 or 5 years), but I've never lost. Then again, I have a 1000 member law firm in Houston to lean on if I bump it up to Federal District Court (my father was Senior Partner, Vinson and Elkins, for 30 years). And since my dad, 90, is still around, I usually get all of the help I want. Now - if you want to make it a class-action suit, that's fine with me (non-performance of contract). Just msg me here and if enough do, I'll post my e-mail.

Yeah - and neither of those things will happen. Just look at Battlefield 3; RIFE with hacks - and nothing (almost) is done. Just today, a friend was playing on a server and killed another player. About 2 minutes later, he's turned into a goat. I had no idea that that could be done, and while it's funny as hell <LOL!>, my friend lost his weapons and his SUV. THEN - after about 5 minutes, he suddenly died for no apparent reason. Players have no power - forget that. I have a server that I've stopped and am going to go thru PayPal to get my money back on because HFB Servers can't make it work right, and if I don't get my money back, I'll file in Precinct Court (in Texas). I've never lost a suit yet, and yes - I sue corporations about once a year. Remember, corporations are people, my friend!

As it turns out, my worthless provider HFBservers.com,has exactly that. You lock/pw a server and you get an automatic email and your server is stopped. 3rd time and you get locked until you talk with HFB. So - as I've said before, if you can give me access, then do it - or STFU. Your denigrating others is just boring. Obviously, you're mad at your mommy and take it out on everyone here, and - for whatever reason - defend the worthless twits who are waiting to sell DayZ to the highest bidder.

Whew! Finally! Someone able to give me access to the root system so that I can 'bring it on'! Just give me the link, a username/password to the admin and the same for development, and I WILL bring it on. Otherwise, STFU.

What's AMAZING is that neither ROCKET nor BattleEye sees fit to give us a script file to prevent hacking on our servers. It's like - oh, I don't know - they don't give a shit about us?

That's right; it takes time and has to be reported, because to have a script behind the locking function that would AUTOMATICALLY report it is just WAY too much trouble.

If you can't use contractions, then don't. Use YOU ARE. "YOUR" is a possessive pronoun, "YOU'RE" is the proper contraction. Man-up yourself and learn to use the language, moron.

Simply, you don't figure out who did that, because they've put no tracking into the software. Security development takes away from the time available to keep cows moving across a field, ya know. Putting in a log that says that XXX killed YYY at Location would be TOO MUCH TROUBLE! Imagine seeing XXX killed YYY at L 50 times in a row (with YYY being each player in the game). Why - you'd be wanting this person banned and you'd be bugging Rocket to make the BAN button actually do something and then where would we be? We'd have chickens standing still and zombies being aggro'd from 1 mile off (or not aggro'd at all). Gotta keep Rocket's priorities straight: "How much can I sell DayZ for based on user numbers?"

I was after PunkBuster for MONTHS to do something about the hackers in BF3. Little did I realize that PB had only 12 staff, and only 1 to 3 real coders. Do you think that Rocket or Dice/EA is interested in banning hackers? You're kidding yourselves. If they did that, their user base would PLUMMET and their sales numbers (and Rocket's net worth based on the supposed value of DayZ) would drop as well. Where would the aftermarket sales come from? The 20 or 30% not hacking? Gaming is all dollar-driven, and if you think that they have any REAL interest in stopping hackers, you're kidding yourselves. All that Rocket/Dice/EA/etc care about is how rich them can make themselves. Their 'concern' about us is limited to whether our credit card will clear or not. A good example is the 'permanent ban'. So, they ban you; you buy a new copy. Do they ban the credit card number the busted copy was bought with? Or the address or the phone #? Nope. Because THEY DON'T CARE. They won't make as many sales if they do that. And Rocket won't have the user numbers to support whatever he thinks he can sell DayZ for. If you think Rocket really cares about hackers, you're not paying attention. I've worked in software for over 35 years, and I've done a fair bit of anti-virus, and if you think that hackers aren't pretty easy to bust - well, you'll believe that Rocket is very concerned about this issue.

There's no consequence for an admin not following the 'no-kick' rule. Are you kidding me? Just look at how many locked servers there are and then read the 'policy' on not locking servers. Just like BattleBlindEye, it's all words and no action. I've been hacked so many times that I'm giving up; this is as bad or worse than BF3. I guess I'll have to go out and get a life.

Another day (my 4th now) that I can't get into my server that is hosted by HFBServers.com. It gets to LOADING and hangs. I can get into every other server but mine, and none of my friends gets past LOADING either. Numerous messages to them with no help forthcoming. Needless to say, my automatic renewal will stop today. Waste of money; waste of time. Amateurs at best.

I'm tempted to start my own server - running on MY computer - because providers (mostly HFBServers) don't keep their systems current. HFB is now 2 days behind the curve; I can't even get into my server when I back-update my client to 95054. Of course, I'd need a T1 connection and be able to sell other servers to justify the cost of the T1 and the large computer and solid state drives to run it. Then, too, there is the MASS cheating that BattleBlindEye can't seem to find. Tonight, I spawned into a server with a downed jet burning about 100 yds in front of me North of Elektro. Add to that the many deaths I've had recently with hackers using ESP or teleporting and it's just not that much fun anymore. And here I though BF3 was bad with about 50% of the ppl hacking. Sheesh.

This is the 2nd time on US470 (used to be Atlanta 68) that this has happened. I spawned in on the roof of the hospital in Elektro and was shot from sniper hill (I saw the guy). Ok, fair enough; he has a good line of sight. So - I decided to find out who this was, since I was sniped at the hospital yesterday. So, I equipped up and went to the big hill overlooking sniper hill in another server (so I couldn't be seen going to the spot). I got in the middle of several bushes and laid down (camo clothing) and spawned in. Yes, I know you spawn standing up, which is why I was in the middle of the bushes. I just spawned in, started to 3rd person look around and was one-shotted. No way could anyone acquire me that fast. 10:30pm CST Username: DontTazeMeBro Someone has ESP going and maybe an aimbot. No doubt about it. Find out who killed me and you'll find the hacker. And yes; I think it was an admin; same admin was in both times.

I survived DayZ Alpha. BUT - only if it was a pocket T with that design on the back and a small "DayZ" on the top of the pocket. Have some subtlety, please.
