After watching footage from this server I had to get involved... It took me a while to get onto the whitelist, but eventually I did... I spawned near Balota, geared up and decided to go bandit. Watching over the 50 or so helicopters on the airfield... Stay tuned for the next video from this server "Grand Theft Auto: Elektrozavodsk" :)

I do play normal servers, and I've spent hours gearing up and repairing vehicles and stashing them in the woods and all that, but sometimes I just want to get onto a server and fanny around... Which is where things like this come in to play... It's definitely not to everyones taste, but it's definitely a good laugh!

A fantastic program that I don't hear many people mention is Action! by Mirillis. I've just upgraded to the newest version, and it's fantastic. It used to record in .fic format, which was sketchy at best (It allows export and conversion etc) but the recent versions have switched to MP4 I believe. It's a pretty rock solid program with lots of customisability. As for sound recording, I've used it with in game sounds, my mic and Teamspeak/Skype and it's all come out fine. The only one it seems to have a problem with is Steam chat. For some reason it stops recording all other sound when that's put into the mix. Other than that I highly recommend it. I've tried Fraps and DXtory but didn't like either of them... Action! is the way to go! In the edit, I do pretty much everything in Cyberlink Power director 9. It's a little out dated but it does more than just the basics and is really easy to get your head around!

After weeks of awful fps and out of sync sound, I've finally been able to get back into the game and play properly... So a couple of days ago I started filming a series on Namalsk... The first few episodes aren't too eventful, but there's action coming! -- I "Had" 4 hours of footage rolling around Namalsk in a Ural and a pickup with two great players, with lots of action... But I have managed to corrupt the .fic files Action! records in... If I can get them sorted out expect some awesome footage to come!

I had been on the server for say, 90 seconds... Some stupid automatic updates had already alt-tabbed me out once so I was off to a rocky start lol... As soon as I get back in everyone was teleported to the same location... What annoys me about these situations is everyone just opens up on everyone and noone walks away happy... This is why instead of fighting I tried to make a run for it (fuck you mountains! lol) (video has only been up for a few mins so it's only 360p right now :()

The server I was on the other night was the friendliest "not run by someone I know" server I've ever been on! Met up with two pretty nice guys and ran riot... Incidentally there was a player called "TheMagnus" knocking about... Wasn't you was it?

Hey Guys... I know you felt all big and clever killing me infront of your truck... But you left it right next to my body... So I took it Ice road trucking... I was going to blow it up on this bridge... But I made a new friend instead... He nearly tipped us over! Together we took your truck on a road trip... We saw all the sites... We had a trip up North... I crashed into a tree trunk... We're done with your truck now... You can have it back... Lots of love, Leemo To explain all that... I had just landed my boat to raid a deer stand... (found a GPS I was stoked) then some bandits in a truck pulled up and shot me in the face... I respawned about 2km away, when I reached my body I found their truck... SO I took it on an adventure! Videos will be up at www.youtube.com/magaz over the next few days :)

I thought I'd keep it suitable for the younger viewers... They'd be scarred for life if they saw the mess in the back of the truck...

A montage of a few fun moments from Panthera and Namalsk The first clip from Panthera was recorded in Mirillis Action! for some reason it recorded the sound about a second out of sync. And the mic a second out of sync with that. I've tried to realign it as best I can... But it's far from perfect! I think the guy I killed was a hacker, and he teleported himself and another player in. Like I said in the video "I hit the jackpot" when I looted him! The second clip, from Namalsk wouldn't export at all. And to make things even worse it didn't record any sound! The only way I could get the footage out of Action! was to record the screen with my DSLR, I tried to reenact the narration as best I could. (I apologise for the sound of my girlfriends incessant typing...) The third clip was going to be part of a video of me taking over New Skooma. I can't get back on that server, so that character is pretty much lost... so the clip ended up here instead! if you like it give it a thumbs up and fave/sub etc :)

Over the past 3 days I've been having similar problems... OS: Windows 7 home premium, SP1 64 bit Processor: Intel® Core i5-2450M CPU @ 2.50GHz RAM: 6.00gb HDD: 571gb (188 free) Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GT635M I usually manage 18-24 fps on mid level settings. 3 days ago on various servers I was clocking 30-35. I was amazed! Then for no reason on Friday I couldn't get more than 10 FPS with averages around 4-6. It's still like that now... I hadn't changed any settings, I just stopped playing on Thursday and picked back up again on Friday... I've tried: Reducing all graphics settings to their lowest. (following these threads http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/forums/showthread.php?5611-README-Notable-Arma-2-tweaks and http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/forums/showthread.php?2565-A-few-simple-notes-on-performance ) I've altered the User config files and Arma2 and arma2oa files in notepad (to recommended settings) defragged my hdd with both windows defrag and defraggler updated graphics card drivers ensured arma2 has full access on my firewall reinstalled dayz, and ensured it's patched to the latest updates added "-CpuCount=4" to the start up parameters I'm holding off formatting, as I have only just recently formatted this machine (about 2 weeks ago) Does anyone have any thoughts? :)

The first is concentrating on the "Elektro of Panthera" New Skooma and it's neighbour, Smugglers Den Keep your eyes open for more and if anyone has any recommendations or ideas on how I can improve the series let me know :)

DayzCommander let me install another interesting map... Zargabad... So, I finally got onto a server and played a whole 3 minutes before being kicked with no explanation. Not being dismayed I switched servers and was instantly met with chaos... I'm assuming the "Brad Pitt" guy was a hacker or had found a "box" Either way it was jolly nice of him to fix me up and then give me his stuff :) There's gonna be more footage coming from this map soon! :)

So I figured I'd check out Panthera... I couldn't get it to install the "proper" way so I had to wait for DayzCom to get it running... Anyway... Completely uncut, raw footage from my first life on Panthera. It's an awesome map, the right mix of Chernarus, Lingor and Takistan, lots of lootable buildings, lots of zeds and some lovely scenery... Love it :)

I was playing on a private hive server for a few hours, trying to refuel a helo that someone had left on the roof of the Elektro hospital... I think everyone else had the same idea too... So here are a few clips of me killing and being killed, the final clip in the Elektro super market was one of the most tense and adrenaline filled shootouts I've ever had... As soon as the guy got behind me I figured I was dead... (God praise the Lee Enfield!) The two guys who I killed tried to report me as being a hacker (I used google translate to decipher the German) from what I can tell the admin said I wasn't "Immortal" It was one of those moments that gets your heart racing and leaves you jittery... This is why I love DayZ... :)

I had an amazing adventure on a private hive server riding a bike from Solnichny to the NW airfield, without a map or compass yesterday... It took me a good couple of hours to get up there, passing through the NE airfield and working my way West from there hitting up dear stands and other towns... By the time I got to NW I was well geared up and looking for trouble, unfortunately trouble came in the shape of a "Mike Tyson" zombie who knocked me out with one punch (on just under 11000 blood!) and ate my face off... I quit the game before stopping the recording in Action! and the damn thing was corrupted... So... Today I got onto a normal server, my character was already geared up and sat just North of the NE airfield... I know about both of those, I never really use tents, (Like I said in the video it's the first time I've actually pitched one) if I'm rolling with a group I'll use them, but solo it didn't seem much use... I forgot about the MP5 mags, but it didn't bother me too much I swapped the PDW out for something more useful later on :)
