Awwwww.......I have bad news. After healing Gizmoofire we began to look for loot around the airbase. We found a number of good items including a M249. Unfortunately I needed to eat and headed to a more secluded spot on the base to create a fire and cook the steaks I had on me. In the mean time Giz decided to go to the tower to look for loot and was shot and killed. He didn't see who killed him and thinks they may have just spawned in and got lucky. I was too far away to be able to assist. I was unable to locate the assailants. This was probably a good example of why it is better to work in teams.

I think you did the right thing. I would appear that he was clearly waiting for a victim. As such, he deserves to become a victim himself. I usually also try to avoid other players because I've been killed a few times now as a result of close encounters with the bandit kind. Just today I was headed to a building to look for supplies when I noticed the body of a dead survivor lying inside. I wasn't sure if he was killed by zombies or if someone was inside waiting to ambush me. I decided to just move along and find loot elsewhere.

I've been looking for a small group of regular players to team up with. For some reason I've had no success with people following through. I'm in north eastern New Jersey. I'm looking for people that actually want to work as a team and communicate as opposed to just tagging along with a group that just wants to add extra bodies for cannon fodder. I've been playing DayZ for a few weeks now and have played ArmA and Operation Flashpoint since they came out. Also looking for a group that uses either Skype, or steam to communicate. Teamspeak is ok too but might need some assistance getting it configured because I just reinstalled it. So if you are looking for someone to add to your team as a regular member let me know. I would keep the AK as the ammo seems to be a little more common. If you have to choose between the M9 and the Makarov it comes down to ammo, I believe you can go to deer stands which sometimes spawn military and police zombies. Those zombies sometimes have magazines on them for the M9 and other military weapons as well as the deer stands themselves. The Makarov ammo is much much more common though but takes more shots to kill a zombie. Personally I would ditch both and find a 1911 or revolver. They are both one shot one kill weapons and the ammo isn't too hard to find especially compared to the M9.

Hmmmmm.....is that what the heat packs are for then? To raise your body temp?

Finding shelter during rain doesn't seem necessary unless they've changed something in the past day or two. In fact, the rain cuts down visibility so it's a good time to move around as snipers are less effective. This of course could change if they factor in being cold or getting sick but for now rain doesn't seem to be detrimental. I have found that playing at night is just a good way to get yourself killed by zombies. After a few tries I now stick to daytime servers.
