main culprit of that zoomed in lag is your view distance is too high. most servers lock view @ 1000-1500. switch your view distance to the lower of the two and see if that helps you.

I did some tests back when I was learning how to recover from a disabled tail rotor and it only took 3 makarov shots to disable it, so I would imagine one well placed 7.62 round would probably throw that pilot in a loot.

For real. I had 5 different streams open watching Puddn, Panda/Psi, Lirik, Survivor cam 2 and Claw/Penguin and by the end of it Puddn's window was the size of 4 desktop icons because all the guy did was camp camp camp camp and there was absolutely nothing interesting to see on his stream. When one of the streamers referred to Puddn as "A DayZ Master" I just rolled my eyes lol.

I watched it from start to finish as well and although it was very fun I had a few complaints: 1. Admins and Mods interfered way, way too much. Like the poster above me said, they practically got Lirik killed. They gave Atomic Penguin away close to the end, and they even killed Psi. It wouldn't be terrible if they didn't miss 50% of all the action that went on and were instead doing an event or watching someone camping in a bush. I feel like once they master capturing the action, only then they should figure out ways to hype up the game through events. 2. 3rd person view is basically a cheat when your goal is to try and stay alive. No offense to Puddn but the guy pretty much camped a bush, or watched a corner/wall while being completely invisible for half the game. Hell, the final kill was completely cheesed by corner camping, which was so, SO disappointing. 3. When they said "something will arrive or happen in 6 minutes " MAKE IT HAPPEN IN 6 MINUTES. The end of phase 1 was called and players had 10 minutes to get over the bridge because they were air striking it... 20 minutes later and it STILL Penguin and Claw were not even in rendering range of the bridge and nothing happened. It puts a lot more pressure on players when you do what you say, which caused a lot of entertainment (like the run ins Panda had with the 3 people close to the bridge). Other than that though, was pretty entertaining.

It's being redone in the SA so it won't happen. No promises on release though.

I'm not sure how supportive Arma 2 is of eyefinity as the technology is rather new compared to the game but one thing I would suggest you try and lowering the UI resolution down to that of a single screen (whether that be 1680 x 1050 or 1920 x 1080). Other than that, I got nothing for you mate :(

I believe a few things they are doing in the SA for zombies are improving their AI and pathing, and I think Rocket said that because they are making the pathing more predictable (making them easier to shoot) they will be slightly more durable and do more damage. Rocket said that the Z's haven't really been played around with as it is "an easy fix" and the team wants to try and focus on some of the more complicated additions and fixes to DayZ SA at the moment.

I like the idea because it forces the player to be responsible and tactile on their decisions. If you want to be "that guy" pretending to be a wounded hero looking for some morphine then sooner or later someone is going to recognize your game is call you on it, then you either have to change your game or hope nobody calls you out in servers for it. On the other hand if your the kind of player that picks people up in vehicles or saves them from bandits your name will be remembered and (if consistent in your actions) you will become vouched on by other people on the server, or even recognized yourself. I actually hope rocket does this! BEANS!

I could understand finding AK's in a 'post soviet bloc state' but I think (at this moment) that high end weaponry like M249's, AS50's, M82/M107's and even the FN FAL. If you could only have 1 or 2 per server then it may be acceptable on a server with 100-150 people (in standalone) but at the moment it seems like everybody and their mother has stashes full of these guns. I can agree though that we shouldn't be limited to sidearms and civvy/farm weapons.

I really enjoyed watching that last night but my only complaint is to get rid of the damn 180 degree FOV, and also how much action they missed. I feel like out of 10 deaths they saw only 2 of them. Maybe this years will have more people looking around to make sure the camera is where the action is.

Buy yourself a 200-300 dollar pair of: Sennheiser Grado Audio-Technica AKG Sony or at the very most expensive, Bose. Everything else is a waste of money and you pay 60% for the brand and 40% for the performance. Don't buy Turtle Beach, Don't buy Razers, don't buy Monster or Skull Candy or Dr. Dre's Beats. Don't buy anything that you would see being advertised as "gaming" headphones because there is honestly no difference between a nice, expensive pair of normal headphones and 'gaming' headphones except the latter tend to be very overpriced and overhyped. If you want even better performance you can pick yourself up a 50 dollar sound card to go along with it. I recommend the Asus Xonar DG as it comes with an amplifier and a load of good settings. And 1 more thing: Don't buy a headset. a 200 dollar headset is a 120 dollar headphones with a 10 dollar mic marked up. If you REALLY need something right beside your face instead of on your desk then buy yourself AntLion Audio ModMic. It sticks to the side of your headphones and sounds great for the price.

I'm not sure which settings are locked on DayZ but a lot of the time settings like these are hard coded to not be changed because it gives an advantage in either direction. i.e. Seeing further because you have a better computer, or lowering settings so grass doesn't load at a certain distance so it's easier to see someone lying in it.

Also, Arma 2 is very unoptimized and is heavily reliant on your CPU, which is also lacking. I run the game @ 45-60 FPS on high settings with a GTX 560ti and a i5 2500K clocked at 4.6ghz... Not only is your GPU 1/4th or 1/5th as good as mine but your CPU is clocked at not even half as fast as mine is, and even I dip on FPS sometimes. You can check heat all you want but I'm fairly certain your specs just aren't enough to run this game well.

I had a guy do it once a few months after release, but I was traveling (fairly sparsely) with 3 other guys, so when I passed by the guy and he told me "stop or I'll shoot" I immediately had 3 other friends shoot him down before he could do much. I'm not sure I would play along anyways, since I'd be pretty convinced he was fucking with me until he killed me. I recently had a guy with an M249 telling to me to stop and trying to break my legs as a bambi. I just ran up to him and stole a nade - didn't kill him but I think I might have knocked him out with it.
