If that's actually all you do, then all the power to you. It's clearly apparent that there is no amount of 'anti-hacking' available in Dayz to really make it relatively safe, and when a player can potentially lose hours of work in seconds I think any kind of help we can get is a plus. I wish I could do this without getting banned as well. Monitoring servers.. watching people fight in the meantime while I wait for some asshole to ruin everybodies fun so I can ruin his. I somewhat envy it actually.

Do people not play with a mic now days?
Cdrive replied to FrankTheDuck's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I find the serious lack of any sort of in-game mic testing or amplification makes people not use their mics. We've all been in a VOIP channel where the person is using their mic but they sound like a faint whisper.. so you have to amp them 300% just to make out what they're saying. Personally the only reason I know my mic works is because my friends and I play and we talk on it, but if you don't have any friends how is anybody going to get a good chance to 'test' it if everybody just shoots what they hear, you know? -
Yea your story was pretty good, too bad you alt-f4'd =P. I have to recommend that at one point everybody tries taking on armed people with nothing on you.. it's about a thousand times scarier knowing that if you get caught once there is no turning back. Sure you don't lose anything but it's a lot of time and energy invested. Great fun.

When you say that do you mean that you hope it will be in 1.7.2.4 or it will be in eventually a long with the tracking?
-
good bang for your buck at first glance. especially @ 699. Obviously building yourself one is going to be cheaper but if you have no experience and no time to learn it's definitely not a 'bad' deal. and by the way the 8 core exists and is quite decent, although not as good as an i7. It's more of a multitasking CPU then a gaming one, but it's a 3.1 GHZ none the less so it's not like the cores are clocked at like 2 ghz each or something.

Dayz Standalone, Do arma 2 players need to pay again?
Cdrive replied to PC. (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
You're essentially calling 80~% of every single dayZ user retarded, if not more. -
There is currently a hacker in CA 11 flying around blowing up cherno with his A10 Thunderbolt. This happened at 8:20 PM EST. ** The A10 disappeared from the sky as soon as a player named "BOMBAYBADBOY" left the server. Not sure if its a coincidence or not.

Helicopters returning to dayz?
Cdrive replied to [email protected]'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I believe someone said they're on their way back. I'm unsure about how "soon" though. -
Yea unfortunately most anti-cheating protection systems are pretty crappy but I think using a second rate anti-cheat system like battle eye is really starting to show on the game. They need to figure something out because this isn't the type of game where someone cheats and kills you in CoD or hacks items on their own characters, these are cheats that ruin OTHER people's invested time. It really is a wide spread problem.

What percentage of players you meet/engage Alt+F4?
Cdrive replied to TheMachine's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I wish Rocket could explain to us how it's so difficult for him to add something that maintains a character connection to the server 10 seconds after the user behind it leaves. That's all it would take. Instead of a character instantly disappearing when the user disconnects, have it linger for 10 seconds. -
What percentage of players you meet/engage Alt+F4?
Cdrive replied to TheMachine's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I've had some pretty annoying encounters, some people being so pussy-shit that they will spawn in common snipe spots, take a few shots and then alt-f4 immediately just in case there is an OFF CHANCE that they get caught. It's amazing how quickly it takes you out of your immersion when the player you're shooting at suddenly disappears. On the upside I had a great encounter with a trio in the church in electro yesterday. My sniper buddy had them locked down in the church and I came around with my AK only to be surprised by the 3 of them rushing at me even though my sniper friend was pumping shots close and into them. Was great fun and got my heart pumping. I miss when it wasn't such a wide spread problem. -
Seriously...can we get a hotfix for the loading...
Cdrive replied to Slyguy65's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Nah, it doesn't. I have an i5 2500K with a 560 ti and 8 gigs of ram. before the patch I could go from joining the server to loading in at under 15 seconds, now it stays at loading for over 2-3 minutes regardless of the server I join (been playing this game since May). You don't know what you're talking about. -
This game won't be popular at release
Cdrive replied to mkrrr's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I feel like the majority of people who are bored with the game at this very moment are the people who play it like a single player game, or play it strictly PvE. The kind of players who after a month have 1000 zombie kills but 3 player kills. It doesn't matter the game you're playing, player vs player environments are going to be much more dynamic and exciting after a month of doing them then any PvE encounter you can introduce to the player. If you want to exclude yourself from the entirety of the population of a game, and choose to roam the sandbox for days in hopes of "maxin' your character' then good for you, but don't ignore a major aspect of the game (Player vs Player encounters) and expect there to be any longevity. Inb4 bandit etc. -
Are Helicopters going to be added again?
Cdrive replied to l5p4ngl312's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I'm sure as servers become more and more stable and optimized it will be able to handle the load. He stated (rocket) that the Arma engine is built to take 150-200 people, so it's clearly CAPABLE of handling loads far greater then what we're working with now - its only a question of optimization. -
when I try to update to the latest beta patch it goes through but it also tells me I have an incorrect Cd Key. Not sure why,

-= News: Do not patch to 1.7.2.2 with Six Updater, also stay with 94700 Beta! =-
Cdrive replied to Mysticales's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
How sure are you that it's an internal test ? Rocket did say this morning that 1.7.2.2 would be released today -
When I play on 1.7.2.2 servers I don't have an issue getting in but if I try and play on anything else I get the issue you say you're having. unfortunately a lot of servers don't seem to be updating to 1.7.2.2 yet. Only 6 on my filter.

I get a kick outa the people that yell "FRIENDLY!" and expect it to spread like a rainbows and butterfly plague to nearby players. Lets get something straight - just because you're friendly, doesn't mean I am. You wouldn't walk through the ghetto with a stack of cash in your hands yelling "I'M FRIENDLY, DON'T MUG ME" and actually expect to be safe - why do you do it in a video game with far more rewards and less consequence? I don't know if it's purely ignorance on the 'friendly' community or if they actually think their temperament affects other people's decision making so drastically, but here's a News Flash - it doesn't.

Zombies are overpowered since patch 1.7.2 (Video as proof)
Cdrive replied to wietse02's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
My quote implies through the bolded text that the dev's are trying to make zeds the MAIN threat. to be the MAIN threat you would have to be the most threatening thing, hence the 'change' to zombies. It has to do with the thread because this user is implying that this change to zed's line of sight is intentional to try and accomplish what he had said in the previous bolded sentence. I'm just disagreeing with his ideas and saying that the video in the OP is clearly bugged behaviour and is not intended to be so ridiculous. Hope that clears up "what my post has to do with this thread". -
You're trying to play on 1.7.2 servers. I've been getting that too using 1.7.2.2. There doesn't seem to be a post on the forums about 2.2 so I dunno what's going on or if many players who don't use the sixlauncher know about the update.

Zombies are overpowered since patch 1.7.2 (Video as proof)
Cdrive replied to wietse02's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I'm fairly certain Rocket has stated multiple times that the players are the main enemy in the game. AI is predictable and easy to manipulate. No AI in any game will be more threatening then a player. Your post its purely a subjective view on the change because your salty people aren't playing how YOU want to play. Sorry but you're wrong. -
I'm almost sure that it's a 1 shot kill regardless. I've 1 shot people with a 9mm before. I don't think there is an assigned value for "headshot". Its possible there are glancing blows or neck reg hits or what-not but I'm fairly certain if the game registers a hit as a "Headshot" you just die. Sorry I can't provide values.

Some feature ideas requesting feedback
Cdrive replied to Ander (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I think you're making it out to be way worse then it is. If his idea suggests a camp fire keeps away enemies by 100 meters, there is no way something .. ANYTHING in the game would keep something away by 10 times that much. I'd say expect 400-500m squared at max power at most, which is reasonable since that is only 1/430th of the entire map. a log out timer fixes people alt-f4ing. It doesn't fix people hiding, waiting for the log out timer to pass, join a new server, run the 1 minute it would take to get behind your target and log back in after another minute. This suggested implementation has nothing to do with log outs at all. -
Whats to discern legit DC's from alt f4's and such? I'd hate to have a temporary outage while playing with friends and not being to get back. Then again I guess they could just join a new server with me.
