    I'm invincible!

The moral of the story is, never go prone while moving near the edge of a building... :D http://youtu.be/fCnldSbOXRo
  2. Fix the whole zombies walking/warping through solid objects like walls, cars, staircases... thing...How this hasn't taken priority over pretty much everything else I have no idea. (When I started playing at 1.7.1 and 1.7.2 was due out I was thinking "Oh thank fuck! They are going to fix this finally!"...Now we are coming to 1.7.5 and still no sign) I have noticed the fan on my gfx card (HD 5850) getting very noisy with DayZ...More than any other game that I have played on it, including BF3 and Crysis 2 on 'high/very high' settings at 1080p...Arma2 runs like crap, at a lower resolution than those games, with settings on high...I'm gonna assume that this won't be fixed, but it is pretty bizarre. Also...some servers I go into I have 70-80fps, while on others, I have 20-30fps, for no reason at all there is this massive performance drop...WHY?? Fix the infinite, aggroed, zombie horde thing...Put a limit of how many can spawn within a certain time frame. It's worse than the hordes in Left4Dead, but it wastes practically all of your ammo unless you jump servers, which I HATE doing... Fix bullets not being able to penetrate blades of grass and leaves/branches on trees, and glass...I thought ArmA2 was supposed to be a military simulator, favouring realism? Fix glass not shattering with 1 or 2 bullets... The graphical glitches thing seems to be being worked on...but holy crap, how did you miss that? Fix the inventory/backpack management...Most murders happen when people are f**king around in their bags. It's a complete pain in the ass at the best of times. Fix the 'having to find the few pixels to focus on' to open/close doors, climb ladders, pick things up, open gates etc. Finally...If you are going to nerf the pistols, slow the running/attack animations back down to their normal speed again...It's completely ridiculous as it is. Or better yet, replace them with better animations... I realise that most of these are problems inherent within ArmA2, but holy shit...These are all glaring problems.

    Hotfix Build 1.7.2.5 Rolling Update

DayZ - 1.7.2.5 + Chopper crash site + NW Airfield = Clusterf**k! http://youtu.be/gPa5eKezhSg Just in case anyone wanted to know what the new patch is like at the NW Airbase...Only for me though. Everyone else could see fine... :/

Fix all of these things first!

Seems like I waited forever for a graphical glitch fix, but it is worse now than it was before. Weirdly, it now seems like the zombies are running in slow motion, but it's definitely an improvement on the amphetamine zombies! :D

    Hotfix Build 1.7.2.5 Rolling Update

My humanity is at 8411...I am wearing camo though, so maybe it doesn't show up? I'd love to know what your humanity level has to be at before you get this. Interestingly, my friends all had humanity between 2-3000. They said it went up the more zombies they killed...Mine stayed the same regardless of how many zombies I killed. Does this mean that our humanity level is persistent and is carried with us from life to life? I haven't killed any bandits in this life...

Unfortunately, I am getting worse artefacts with this update than I was with the last one.

Any point in not being murderer?

I am not crying about it. As I said, if I get killed, I can be back up to speed in less than 1 hour, regardless of where I spawn. All I am saying is that killing people for their loot is 'easy mode'. Find a shitty Enfield, shoot someone in the middle of nowhere, with better gear, in the back and take their stuff. In just about every thread that points this out, you always get people resorting to "QQ" etc. I can't wait until they introduce the counter measures to the bandits and they all start whining that it is too difficult to be a murdering scumbag now. I think everyone should just troll those threads with "QQ" or "Stop crying about it" etc.

Any point in not being murderer?

At the end of the day, it probably takes a bandit longer to randomly stumble across me and kill me for my gear than it takes for me to get the gear in the first place...Then they die anyway because they have no clue how to survive, or they are forced to confront someone who they can't shoot in the back, while they are in their inventory, and they get slaughtered. Usually, I have way too much loot to carry. I have more than enough, so does everyone I travel with. I usually have a decent amount of food, drink, morphine, painkillers and a few blood bags too. I am happy to share, even with complete strangers. Our clan encountered 2 guys within the space of 20 minutes at the NW Airfield a few weeks ago. First one I gave morphine to to fix his broken leg, then gave him a blood transfusion and he was on his way. Second guy shit himself because he basically ran into all 4 of us prone. He didn't need/want help, so he went on his way too. Both died soon after they left the airfield. I assume from bandits at Stary Sobor. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FfY4BrOczLA If you can't find (more than) enough loot to survive in this game without having to resort to murder, you are really, really shit at it and should probably go play something else.

Any point in not being murderer?

So they are too cowardly to do it to your face, so they do it behind your back, or on the net, or whatever...In my mind that's worse than face to face. It shows how cowardly they are. Repressed individuals. It is a bit like someone who only steals when there is no one around and they know that they won't get caught...No one caught them, so they aren't branded a thief, so by your logic, they are not a thief. It's a vain attempt at rationalisation. I know assholes in real life and they are still likeable because they aren't afraid to be an asshole to your face. They don't try to hide it and they are generally not malicious. The worst, most malicious assholes are the ones you will encounter online, because that horrible little coward inside them gets to lash out in full swing.

    DayZ Standalone Confirmed

Right...Someone creates something extremely popular, but makes nothing from it. Then they set out to create something even greater, and are only charging a small premium for it so that they can actually earn a good, honest living and profit a bit from their success...and people claim they are the ones being ripped off. These people need to wise up.

    DayZ Standalone Confirmed

Isn't the Arma 3 engine just an updated Arma 2 engine? If so, couldn't the current map we are playing DayZ on be ported over to the updated engine, be expanded on, visually improved and have more content added to it? If that was the case I would be more than happy. It would also be great if it was a completely new location built from the ground up, or if we had the choice of multiple locations in the stand alone game. Also, to anyone chirping about that other game. Show me that other game in action. Show me some gameplay. All I have seen are a few screenshots that didn't really impress me and a load of generic, restrictive features that I wouldn't want in DayZ... I've played the core game of DayZ and I love it. I have heard what Rocket and Co. have in store and I have full confidence that they will deliver something original and awesome and that it will just get better and better...As long as they make this game a survival sim first and foremost, they can't really fail. *EDIT* Haha...Nice word filter. "that other game" ;)
  12. What I got from a recent interview is that they are experimenting with people being able to host private games on a localised hive. If you wanted to play only with friends, you could host your own private game that wouldn't be connected to the core hive. You could play with your friends when you want, but also play as a separate character on servers connected to the hive. Much the same way as the private hives are working now, but more localised.

Any point in not being murderer?

I disagree completely. If you are gonna be an asshole in an online multiplayer game, you are, in fact, an asshole. Asshole is a state of mind that motivates asshole-ish actions, it really doesn't matter where those actions took place. People seem to be under the illusion that they can get on like complete fuckwits and it ok, because it is the internet...The fact is, if you get on like an asshole online, you are still an asshole. You are just a weak minded, cowardly asshole that only lets your inner asshole come out to play when you think there is no recourse and no consequences to your actions. You are the worst kind of assholes.

Any point in not being murderer?

In 2 months of playing I have only killed one person, and that was a bandit who had just shot one of my squad mates in the back, like a coward. I made sure I shot him right between the eyes. The longest I have survived is 20 days. If you can't survive without murdering people and taking what they have worked for, you don't really deserve to survive. You probably never live long anyway. When the next patch comes out, bandit skins will be making a come back and other things like dogs and tracking will be introduced. Murderers are about to be ruthlessly and relentlessly hunted and killed without mercy. You guys are gonna start to see why being killed repeatedly is so frustrating, but you all have it coming. Things are about to change big style. ;)
  15. Our clan has been regularly playing on your US106 server for a week or so now and so far it is great. Our clan tag is [NOOBZ]. We are all friendly survivors (unless someone is shooting at us), so if you guys see us, no fear. If you need any help in game, just let us know.

    Pricing.

Are you for real? You didn't have to buy Arma 2 to play DayZ in alpha, you could have waited for the stand alone game, but you chose not to. If you had been paying attention to the media interviews, you would have known that it was going stand alone and this was planned to happen before the end of the year. I paid £20 for Arma 2 CO. I will happily pay for DayZ stand alone. You know why? Because even though this is just an alpha of a mod, this is the most enjoyment and fun that I have gotten out of a multiplayer game in years, perhaps ever. I have played for 80+ hours now and am still enjoying myself, and will continue to enjoy myself until the stand alone game is released. I have already gotten my £20 worth from this mod without touching Arma 2. I can also go and play Arma 2 if I want because I now know all the controls. Bonus. I have an idea for you. Stop being so entitled.

Fix all of these things first!

    bringing it back again...
  18. Great server. We play there every day. If you see our clantag, [NOOBZ], we are all friendly survivors and will help you guys in whatever way we can. Cheers! :)

DayZ - NE Airfield solo raid

That's our regular server that we having been playing on all the time recently. The server emptied of most other players as soon as it got dark. I stayed. Grow some manners and stop behaving like a 10 year old on the internet. Also, at the end of the day. I don't play for PvPing. I play to survive. When the new patch rolls and we can identify murderers easily, I will begin PvPing, as will most other survivors, and we will wipe that shit eating grin off your murdering faces. :D

DayZ - NE Airfield solo raid

3 of us were there last night, on a night server and some guy started shooting at one of us and broke his arm, then as we approached to try to help him, whoever it was turned and one hit killed both of us as we approached. I'm guessing it was one or more person with L85s. Possibly hackers. I started again on the coast on the same server and someone teleported behind me inside the back part of the shop in Elektro and ganked me. There were only 4 people on the server, 2 were my friend and myself. The shop had about 5 dead player bodies in an around it. Cheers! There is a squad of four of us so far, with the clan-tag [NOOBZ] as we all thought that was pretty humorous... :P We play as survivors and only shoot when shot at. I have only killed one person since I started playing and it was a bandit that had just shot my clan-mate in the back while he was in his inventory. Felt good getting vengeance... heheh We try to play together when we can, but time constraints and random murdering assholes tend to get us split up often enough.

    Please remove "L85A2 AWS"

They can hardly be called extremely rare either...Extremely rare is NVG which I haven't found yet. Or a GPS, which I found in a tent somewhere and I assume is duped. In 80 or so hours I haven't genuinely found a GPS yet. Most of the weapons I find at crash sites are FN FALs, M4A1s, M16s, M4A1 AIM, L85, and DMR. In order of how common we have found them. Mostly it's been FN FALs, which since the last Arma2 beta patch have become one of the biggest horde drawers in the whole game. Gun balance was broken completely by the last Arma2 beta patch in my view.

    Evolving Player Maps...

    Excellent idea! :)
  24. soapmak3r

    Please remove "L85A2 AWS"

I dunno, our squad has found 2 so far at crash sites within the space of a couple of weeks. They seem common enough. As someone that doesn't kill other players for fun or sport, I would like one so that I can protect my squad and spot threats more easily, so that we can avoid them more than anything. In the hands of a player killer it is probably a very disruptive, negative influence on the game.
  25. QQ bandits...QQ... Oh, that felt good! You guys have been playing easy mode for nearly 2 months now. Just killing indiscriminately and getting away with it. Now when survivors see you, you are fucked! http://youtu.be/UmvnXKRfdb8
