    Ok, everyone's going crazy here.

    There's no point in arguing about what did or did not happen. Most of you weren't there and the admins are the only ones not going off of memory because we have access to the logs.

    The fact is that Days of Doom did d/c during combat. We also have evidence that he ghosted onto Mr. White's body when he spawned in. Mr. White may not have spawned in that bike like we thought. It also looks like he didn't disconnect after taking fire like some other players reported. There's a gap in our logs because there was a server restart minutes before the incident occurred, so we can't fully track the history of the bike.

    Circumstantially, we ran into two hackers at your tents. One of them flew a chopper directly there, crashed ontop of them and respawned on the spot. The other was invisible and spawning vehicles at your tents. The first day we found your tents you guys had an ATV, a bicycle, and a white hatch. The second day you had a tractor, white pickup truck, and yellow hatch. You're telling me in less than 24 hours you replaced all the vehicles at your tents with different ones? Also worth noting, the gear in those vehicles matched your exact load out. On top of that, you both were carrying the pdw sd which is not in the game AND you had an extra pdw sd in your tents and several of the vehicles. You found what, 6 of them all from the same guy? Same thing goes for the plethora of ultra rare weapons and gear both of you had in your inventory and tents.

    You also should realize that picking up any items from hackers is almost as bad as spawning in the items yourself. It's breaking gameplay balance, and in many ways you're helping the hackers troll. In real life it's against the law to be in possession of stolen property. The analogy is particularly apt in this situation.

    Anyway. Our initial ban on Mr. White was potentially applied for the wrong reason, so we will remove it. Days of Doom already reported us to the dev team so we'll wait and see if we get a response from them before we do anything.

    We've been dealing with a group of hackers in that area for the last few days. We've banned 3 so far. Two for vehicle spawning (one was even invisible and offered to spawn a dirt bike for the admin) and one for invulnerability. They were using a set of tents with hacked items, surrounded by vehicles as their base. While we were watching that area we saw you ride a bicycle directly to those tents, kill someone, move to another location and take fire. We thought it was a little fishy when you headed straight for the tents so we looked up your past few moments in our logs.

    Our server logs show you joining the server, moving a few meters, and a bicycle spawning directly on top of you. You also came in with a hacked weapon - a PDW sd.

    Just this weekend I had 2 hackers on my servers, and those are only the ones that got reported. We had a hacker nuke the server twice, and another in a hacked in a jeep who had god mode, zombie skin, and was spawning weapons for players. I only know about the last guy because one of the admins tried to killed him only to be offered a ride and weapons.

    I can't imagine how many hackers I missed. This is getting crazy.

    Yes i have a very extensive scripts.txt that I use. I will not distribute it however as that will render it completely worthless except for weapon classnames.

    Its amazing how immature and unhelpful the server hosting community in DayZ is. There's this culture that everything has to be kept a secret. If you develop anything its for your server only. I don't know where this comes from, but its something that seems pretty unique to DayZ.

    Props to a lot of you other guys for actually workign to solve this problem.

    The new agro algorithm has totally ruined immersion for me. There used to be this cool dynamic. You had to move slowly to avoid being seen by zombies, but a slow moving target was easy prey for bandits. It was tense and methodical moving through town.

    Now, even if you're moving slow - courch walking and behind some fences - zombies can still see you from hundreds of meters away. It doesn't feel predictable, just totally random. I come around a corner and a zombie on a hilltop on the otherside of town is sprinting twoards me. He saw me for only a few seconds, and I can hardly see him, and here he comes just bolting straight at me.

    Now, all I do is run in town. Its the most effective tactic I've come up with. If I'm going to be agroed might as well kite the zombies to a barn so I can kill them all then loot the town. Also, since I'm running/kiting all the time might as well just run around town until I come across other survivors (most of them are also running balls out) and try to kite the zombies into them.

    baijiaqing, If the server is crashing there's something else going on. I know a bunch of admins who's servers are running just fine without crashes (ours included). Mattolio I also know a fair amount who notify when restarting (also ours included as well).

    Before you go around accusing other admins of something else going on, keep in mind this is an alpha. It does crash. Its happend to our server twice. Also keep in mind that there's been a lot of problems with the hive latley. Our server was emptied because we lost connection to it.

    Why do you want a fully enforced and standardized naming convention? I can't think of any other game out there that has this.

    Are you frustrated by the limitation of the browser because it doesn't fully display game settings? If you use the six launcher you can do a search for server name, so if you want Chicago just search for "Chicago". It seems that you should be able to find at least one server that meets your criteria in just a few seconds. Maybe it makes sense to enforce listing out settings in a specific way so you can search for them, but dictating exactly what a server can call itself seems draconian.

    The ability to host servers that don't sync with the hive, where admins can tweak whatever setting they want and do whatever they want. The server would have its own, independent player inventories and tracking. You would still find these servers in the browser, but they would be marked as having their own mods or as non synced.

    If someone wants to plop down the money for a Day Z server and have everyone spawn with a 50cal then that's fine. If an admin wants to implement a truck-for-everyone policy then let him. If that dude just wants a last man on earth server with him and two of his buddies, why stop him? Ban barbed wire and tank traps? That's good too (and good in general IMO). Increase zombie spawn rate by a million? OK.

    Just make sure that players in these nonsycning servers can't take their inventories or their location over to the other servers and prevent the other way round, too. If you really wanted people to know what they were getting into, also require admins list their mods and policies in their server titles.
