Sakeoe (DayZ)

My scroll wheel no longer works ingame. This means that I can no longer zoom in or out on the map or bring up the action menu with my scroll wheel. Instead I am forced to use [ and ] for the action menu (which is a great hinderance as I can no longer move then since I have to replace my hand to reach it) and use the + and - on the map which is really slow and a nuisance to use. How do I repair this (Or will this be repaired in a future patch?).

I just updated to the new patch, and now the scroll wheel no longer brings up the action menu. What can I do to fix this? Someone please respond because I need to give my friend a blood transfusion.

Scroll wheel works perfectly fine in firefox, word and other games. It's just DayZ that it doesn't work in, and only since I updated to the newest patch.

I want to add that I cant zoom in or zoom out with the scroll wheel on the map anymore either. I can't be the only one with this issue, someone please respond with a fix. How did they even manage to break this lol.

Bump, someone please respond. I now found out I can also use [ and ] but this is a annoying and slow way to do something that worked just fine with the scroll wheel. Please someone present a solution I beg you.

I was on a server with about 16 players. I was sniping at the airfield, east side of the Barracks with my AS50 (legit ofcourse) shooting some server hoppers. I noticed my food icon was getting low, so I opened my backpack to get some meat out and then I saw it. All my stuff was gone! My L85 (which I had in my backpack), the ammo for it, my AS50 mags, all my cooked meat, morphine, water bottles etc you catch my drift. Everything was gone, apart from a single pepsi and 4 bandages which I didn't have in my backpack before. Really mad about losing my legit non duped L85 and all my other stuff. Atleast the hacker didn't kill me but really this is getting out of hand.

I would like the weapon if bolts didn't bug out all the time, becomming unretrievable.

If you are going to the airfield/stary sobor on low pop servers everyone goes there. edit And OP, chances are it were legit player but the pilot got desynch.

Strongest reading comprehension i've ever seen. Please never work a deskjob which inolves paper work, you'd make your company go bankrupt.

By all means collecting gear in tents is not a long, hard nor risky work. Meeting other players at stary sobor or the NW airfield is extremely rare and the chances of you dying are even lower, especially if you play in a group.

I don't think you understood my post, I said that even when duping if fixed tents would still be a major problem. It's the fact that tents prevent loot from being discarded. In a perfect world without duping and hacking people would loot the airfield etc. before they go they put everything but medical supplies, ammo and their weapon in their tents. THen they loot the airfield, find a weapon they don't need right now. In a game without tents that weapon would be left there. However with tents they take the weapon with them even though they don't need it right now and put it in the tent. Now a new weapon will spawn there while the other weapon is still in circulation. This goes on for a while and the tent gets stacked with weapons. Then the player dies, he simply goes to his tent and gets one of the weapons and gear he put in there which without tents maby wouldn't even have spawned to begin with.

Should have terminated right away upon teleportation.

It's funny because the solution is so simple I don't understand why they haven't done it yet. 1: do a hive whipe, make everyone restart. 2: remove tents from the game. Tents (and to some extend vehicle slots but atleast vehicles are "rare") are the one thing I don't understand what they are doing in this game. Tents in itself, even when duping is fixed, breaks the very core of the game. Tents are the reason everyone is a bandit nowadays. Tent's prevent that gear gets lost, as all loot even when not duped gets stacked into tents, so there is no "loot sink" if you know what I mean. Weapons don't get discarded, they simply go from player to player or are put into a tent which means that over time weapons become less rare. Also death loses it's meaning with tents in the game, unless you care about your debug monitor stats. You are death? np just run to your tent filled with gear and take a nice kit from there (even when not duped). It's ridiculous, ofcourse if there is no punishment for death people are going to be dicks. It's just another game then in which you kill people and when you die you get your gear back anyway. Now maby if tents where some extremely rare item it wouldn't be such a problem but that isn't the case either. cliffs: Removing tents fixes almost every player issue apart from hackers.

But it is not somewhat realistic either. Important to realise is that he, without explicitly saying so, is comparing it with other first person shooters (obvious cod, bf etc) saying those are even less realistic/easier than dayz. But what is the difference between sniping in Dayz and sniping in for example Battlefield, besides that in battlefield your rifle has a fixed zeroing so you raise your aim above a target when you know the distance and in DayZ you simply change the zeroing and keep your aim on the target?

Sniping in Dayz is realistic? Not sure if serious. Now on the other hand, this is probably as realistic as it gets in a video game and can easily be put in dayz aswell (which they should).

OP that is such a good story. I really can't pick "one part" that I liked the best. But if you were to hold a gun to my head, I would go with the part with the video. I just got off the phone with an armored truck company. They will be arriving in the morning to pick up my back up disk, which I just saved your story on to. There probably won't be much traffic, because I forwarded the police your story, and they agreed to escort the armored truck to its destination. At first the police chief didn't want to help, but then I guided his attention to the incredible video that you embedded along with your story. I mean, the story was good enough. But as soon as I saw the video that went along with it, I called my grandmother, who is blind and has Alzheimer’s disease to tell her. As far as her doctors in the nursing home are concerned, she is cured of all her ailments now that she heard your cool story. She is actually preparing to run the Boston marathon this year now.
