    I like the changes to the zombies. It's great that there are different kinds of zombies (normal an viral), that they knock you down, are harder to lose. But what i dislike is the spawn rate of zombies in the wilderness. It's too high in my opinion. Sometimes traveling through the woods makes me feel like running through a town with zeds everywhere.
  2. I had this problem as well and fixed it. Install the 94876 patch, delete the following folder <YourWindowsProfile>\AppData\Local\ArmA 2 OA then start the game. It should work again. At least this worked for me. :-P

    Not exactly. I said zombies 'can' be aggroed. I didn't say they do all the time at visibility > 0. There is just a probability between 0 and 1, say one out of 1000 zombies aggroes at 200m and that's okay in my opinion.

    I don't think that zombies spotting players from 100 or 200 meters is a bug. I rather think that this is intended. As stated in the change log of the 1.7.2 patch the aggro mechanics now uses an exponential probability distribution, which means there is always a positive probability that a zombie spots you as long as you are visible. This probability drops very fast with increasing range but stays still positive. So in some cases zombies can be aggroed from 200 meters away if you are visible to them (which means visibility > 0?). But it shouldn't happen too often.

    Yes that solution is only for those who don't want to lose their equipment. What i noticed during my trip was that logging out before you are back on the map, you respawn just where you started. This means you have to do the whole trip in one session. So keep an eye on server reboot times. I don't even know if it works for everyone. At least it worked for me. ^^

    You have a GPS so look where you are and travel back onto the actual map. I did this yesterday and it took me about 1:15 hours. I used two or three food and water and only used them as soon as my blood level began to drop. So there is an escape from the debug plains but it costs some time. For those of you not having a GPS but an ingame map: try to place a waypoint with shift + left click somewhere on the map. It will show you a waypoint on your hud (with travel distance). If you just have a compass: try to travel east south east. If you don't have anything of them: try to navigate using the sun and a watch. If you don't have a watch either: click respawn in the menu because without even a watch you can't have good equipent. :-P As soon as you are back on map it seems safe to log out. I traveled from the debug plains to somewhere near Zelenogorsk and logged out there. After i logged in, i spawned where i logged out (near Zelenogorsk). So good luck. :-)

    Ander' date=' can you confirm this? If i see a tent (i've set up in previous life) and continue to use it to hold items with 'save' option, will it dissapear in a week? [hr'] Ander, there are always walking people around they see tent's camp(rised due to bug) and check tents if they holds items, so empty tents never dissapear. I have a tent which i placed two or three characters ago and it is still there. I placed it about two weeks ago but still use it regularly. So i think they get removed only if empty and/or unused for a certain amount of time.

    I don't think there is a (good) way to stop people killing each other in this game. That's because the possibility to kill someone is an essential part of DayZ. In my opinion the developers shouldn't make any effort to reduce PvP. They should rather implement all "normal" features of the game and then remove all the bugs until DayZ is finished. Then after everything is done and running, there can be thoughts about the PvP element. But by no means should PvP be totally removed from the game. However i agree that there could/should something be changed but i would prefer to make it easier for players to team up as friends instead of making PvP harder.

    At the moment (1.7.1.5) they vanish a few days after the character who placed them died. This happens regardless of how often one uses it after death.

    Is it then possible to keep a tent of an already dead character up by using it regularly?
