Right, i guess you are one of those overly loyal guys around. Reason i stopped playing it is because there was nothing to do, nothing to find and neither no fun to be found. -
Anyone else think DayZ should switch engines?

Playing it on max settings for sure. -

Quiet small? I honestly expect it to be huge :P. Does not need to be high spec if you got the right optimizing. With the right budget and the right engineers anything is possible friend. -

Maybe CryEngine? With all its tech the game would look 10x better and probably run 10x better. -

If you look at all the problems the engine has introduced, such as performance, hacking/scripting then yes, it would benefit it, but at this stage its too late to port it unless you want to wait another year for a full release -
To the guy I killed in Gorka police station today...

Just like the KoS threads, "loosing faith" threads, help me i broke my legs threads and why are people bandits threads. -
It pretty much means the way the game is rendered, the way you will see the game. They said they will upgrade to DX10 or 11. Lighting will most likely be one of the things that will be updated with the new rendering system. Things like tesselation might also come.

Im looking at the date the last update was released, and what it fixed/added/broke. Then i hear that the DayZ team has doubled in size. Is this game going anywhere? Look at the time it takes to develop. Look at every patch, how they sometimes almost break as much as they fix. I personally do not have high hopes to DayZ in the near future. Looking at the time it "seems" to take, I don't think it's realistic looking at a release date within 2014-15. There is too much to add, and too much to fix. Do you think it is realistic to be able to run DayZ at 60 FPS in the middle of electra one day? This might be a bit early to say though, so i want to hear your opinions/expectations to the game in the near future. What do you think of it now, and when do you expect it too be golden! Cheers!

Probably to use it on the flash game. I have done that several times, but i never use it on MP.
-
I have a hard time seing your point.
-
Just started downloading it. 370mb

Well i was talking more in general, not necesseraly about the experimental. I havent tried it out yet. How big is it?
-
It seems like they are trying to push more than what they can handle. If they break as much as they fix, they are doing something wrong. Fix the problems, then add new features, and then optimize them. As i have said, i have some developement expiricence and even though it is definitly not an easy job. I have a feeling they are focusing too much on the upcoming features than fixing the ones that already are in the game

How is it golden? Please elaborate :), and im in no hurry what so ever, don't think i asked this because im anxious to get it done.
-
I understand that it takes time training people. Im a enviornment artist in my free time (modeling, texturing) and several times i just wanted to give up :/

Melee is now a Joke in Experimental- Fists more effective then Fire-Axe

What about mouse acceleration? How long is it going to take fixing such a simple yet game breaking for some thing? -
Looking back, Do you think that EA release was a good idea?
grimsonfart replied to c00lface's topic in General Discussion
How would releasing DayZ as EA beat H1Z1? It was announced just a few days ago i believe, and there is almost no information about it. Not only that, but if H1Z1 gets finished before DayZ it might be a problem. You see how much time it actually takes too fix simple things in DayZ right, and now think about how much they are "supposed" to add and have to fix. I honestly dont have too high hopes for DayZ in the near future, maybe in a year or two (or even more). -
Is the DayZ Mod better than Standalone?
grimsonfart replied to TheCookiemob59's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Well i have to disagree, this is a yes/no question. Is the mod better than standalone? -

Is it not allowed to keep the answer short and clean? Seriously, i think you are exaggerating just a tiny winy bit. He asked a yes/no question so why should he not be allowed to answer yes/no. There are 20 other posts "ellaborating" anyways. -
Is the DayZ Mod better than Standalone?
grimsonfart replied to TheCookiemob59's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Personally i find the Standalone very booring. There is very little to do, even for a bandit. You wont meet people very often, there can be very little loot, and not alot of variation when it comes to weapons and such, and when you got yourself a M16 or the sniper rifle there is absolutely nothing to do. I have had my character for almost a month now, playing a bit now and then. Even though i constantly run around the airfield i have only seen a few persons even on a full server. Im thinking of just killing myself as i have pretty much everything, and got it in maybe 30 minutes :/.
