It's only temporary, will move to another place soon enough. And my PC is pretty decent (6800k, GTX 1060 which i will upgrade to 1080ti when it comes).

This game needs community content more than anything the developers can do, sadly i don't see much of a community anymore. If you noticed i have been here since the very beginning of the mod with probably around 1000 hours in total in which 2/3rd of the time was probably spent on custom maps and versions of the mod. My biggest gripe of the standalone ever since it was released was that it used the same map, and considering the community has been locked out for the past 3-4 years i think this is where things went really wrong, not to consider the fact that it's been in development for almost 4 years and in EA for over 3. Time killed the game.

No, would take about 15 hours to download it on my current connection so i would rather spend that time downloading something else..

So, once again i have decided to check out SA as i haven't completely given up on it. I was here about 6 months ago asking the exact same question.. What has changed? What has improved? Should i bother taking a look at it again or would i be wasting my time? Oh, i'm a bit curious, when i checked it out 6 months ago i believe it was in .59 or .60, and now it's in .61? Pardonne moi if i'm wrong but that is totally wack.

Worth taking a look at this game again?
grimsonfart replied to grimsonfart's topic in General Discussion
In fact i just did so. My first impressions where as follow; runs better, looks better, feels the same (not a good thing for me, as stated above i don't want the same feel but guess that's "personal"), lag, items taking forever to pick up, zombies broken. I also got stuck inside a building because a corpse was in the way (i had no problem getting in but no matter what i did i couldn't get out)... I'm gonna come back in a few months and check it out again as i usually do. -
So i haven't even thought about this game for many months, last time i tried it out was in .58 or .59. Found it to be pretty much the same old and uninteresting (mainly because i'm a veteran mod player so i'v grown somewhat tired of it). What are the new major features and should i bother downloading it again?

Anything planned with tall grass not rendering in the distance?
grimsonfart replied to infiltrator's topic in General Discussion
This game already has horrible optimization issues and you want the grass rendering upped? Not gonna happen, even with the new renderer i doubt they can do much about it since this is a thing in ALL games except for DayZ it's a problem. -
Was as well hoping for desync and maybe some performance fixes, but at the moment performance is absolutely crashing in towns (15-20fps) and in the woods i'm not getting more than 70fps compared to 40-60 in towns and 100+ outside.

yeah riiiight, pics or not happening. I remember getting that once when i was able to use the -winxp command, suddenly it stopped working though and now i'm at like 40-60 on a i7 5920k and 980Ti... also, that 512mb ram thing tells me you are obvious troll...
-
3+ years after release they tend to be fixed though...
-
Sorry, was kinda playing stupid asking that... My real question is, how can you make it look worse than it currently is? What i saw by reading that was telling me that they are incapable of making the game look better even with DX11 and all it's features which sounds awfully suspect.
-
I have to quote "making sure the visual quality is at least the same as the original renderer", i need some clearance on that sentence before i start trowing rocks.
-
The game already has issues regarding performance, increasing draw distance will make it even worse. It's an issue, but one that's unlikely to go away since we are all playing on different systems/graphics settings. This isn't exactly the first game that has had this issue and not the last.

New renderer - When will we see it or at least get some kind of timeline?
grimsonfart replied to robophant's topic in General Discussion
Ok, i admit 2-3 is on the short side, make it 3-4.. -

Since you are only mentioning AAA games from world renowned studios with hundreds upon hundreds of people working on them with a budget as big as the biggest Hollywood blockbusters, yeah it drags the average up. Let me give you a few other approximate numbers; Dying Light (3 years), Crysis 2 (3 years), Civ 5 (3 years) Hitman Absolution (3-4 years), GTA V (4 years). Point is, we are all wrong by posting numbers, it all varies hugely from game to game, from studio to studio etc... So i'm not talking more shit than you are.
