    Fire!

Yeah, my brother, a couple of friends, and I were on a server and half of Electro was demolished and on fire. My brother took a screen shot of it which I will post later.
  2. Batteries We have vehicles, gps, infrared, and night vision goggles, and all need electricity to run. Since we are surviving in a world without electricity, batteries should be necessary to keep these items in operating condition.

Which shooters did you play before Dayz

The first FPS i remember playing for PC was Wolfenstein 3D. Played Doom and Return to Castle Wolfenstein as well. I finally purchased my first PC back in 2007 and bought COD4 with a gift certificate someone gave me. That was all it took. I eventually built my own pc to keep up with the Jones. I have a few thousand hours in COD4 and played competitively on TWL. AFter that, I played Bad Company 2, Black Ops, and then BF3. I actually read about this mod and watched the linked SideStrafe video in a thread on the BF3 forums which lead me to buying ARMA II. However, my all time favorite game, which was mentioned earlier, is Borderlands. I just pre-ordered BL2 today; one copy for me and another for my daughter.

    Robin Hood the Anti-Hacker Hacker.

I know Rocket is very interested in the psychological responses that people show to this game, but I wonder if he ever thought that it would go this far due to scripting. The natural in-game environment is one thing, but the fact that the game is just a mod for Arma II has pretty much left a game with an infinite number of outcomes because of the number of people that can write (or download) their own scripts. Talk about an experiment in human psyche.

    The Survivor Running Speed

Do you move faster if you hold strafe at the same time? It appears so, but it may just be because you are looking at an angle.
  6. The only friends you will make in this game are the ones you have in real life. You may find someone in Electro and Cherno that won't shoot you, but if you get off the coast, you WILL be shot on sight.
  7. That's a beautiful story, take your top off.
  8. After reading this I now believe that we should be able to scrounge up parts to make IED's and place them on the roadsides to blow up vehicles. Other than that, the Army offering a specific dollar amount for a product they want to see made is no different than your local grocery store putting an in store brand product out to bid.
  9. The Dog Pound rocks the party, all night long.....

I Met a Friend in Elektro

"We have a buddy running around in the northeast somewhere. Where you at Bendy?" "Not a clue...not a clue." ROFL

Is everyone in DayZ like this?

Here is my niceness story: Yesterday my brother and I were sitting on the two hills above Palona by the deer stand. I walked to the top of the hill looking for him because he was coming my way and I noticed a guy in camo running across the field. I did not shoot. I walked into a tree and watched. Then a second person walked right in front of me and stood there watching that person run into Palona. I did not shoot. I'm sure they would have both shot my ass on sight, but I just couldn't bring myself to shoot someone in the back. It felt kinda weird being that close to other players knowing that i had the power to ruin their day, and not doing anything about it, considering how many times i've been player killed. Karma being what it is, I know if I would have shot the first guy for his camo, the second would have shot me, so this is one circumstance where it worked out in my favor.
  12. I would say it's time to find some friends.

Servers without friendly fire, aka pvp killing

Holy Shit!! Please read the entire thread before posting.

Servers without friendly fire, aka pvp killing

Again, if you really think that this mod is going to stay the way that it is, you are mistaken. Just ask Infinity Ward, or Dice, money changes everything. Rocket developed a ground breaking game that EVERY development company will want to get a piece of. One of those companies will throw him a fat stack and say, "Hey, why don't you make the game do this." and he will. And I would too. My point is the same as it was in my op. Create the options now so that the game doesn't change across the board. I don't want to play on a watered down version of what we have, but it will happen. Also, the more ideas, changes, and alterations Rocket creates now, the more he has the intellectual property rights on, which again, equals more money. Change is inevitable. Don't fight what you can't change, and change what you can't fight.

That's fine, then make the two types of servers have non-transferable loot. I agree with that. But if any of you hardcore dayz players think for one second that Rocket is only making this mod for you, then you truly are delusional. This mod is about making money, and I can assure you that as soon as larger companies start getting involved, you will see those types of changes. More players = more games sold. More games sold = more money. Different variations of the same mod will get different types of players, which again, will equal more money. It is always better to brainstorm for new ideas at the beginning to influence the directions, than it will to brainstorm afterwards and try to influence change, because change doesn't come easy....or cheap. Like I said, I like it the way it is, and really don't want to see it change. So if I don't want the server that I'm playing on to change, then I want some other server to be changed that I won't play on, because change is inevitable. That way i'm happy. And that's the point.
