Why won't it work and what can I do to fix it?

Basically I have owned the ARMA2 Combined Operation pack for a month now. I have only been able to play the mod once. I try every day yet everyday no matter which patch or what I do it won't work. The problem I am encountering is that the game will skip and jump every few seconds. It's annoying but I can still play however... before I have been able to play for even 5 minutes the game will suddenly freeze and when I get back I can move around for a few seconds and then I will no longer be receiving signals to the server. Not only that but every time that happens my internet is buggered and I have to restart my PC. I have re installed everything but the game so far as I am able to play the actual ARMA2 game alright. I have tried every possible combination of setting for both audio and visual and I have no idea what I can do now. Does anyone else have this same problem or does anyone know how to fix it?
