    Eventual blood replenishment

Well i'm not a big fan of the food can replenish style, it would be better if... blood replenish by itself as long as you are > 50% in food. After all your body need raw material to produce new blood cells, it has to come from somewhere.

    Tent alternative

I'm thinking about all the different weapon boxes that come standard with the game, especially the wooden box types with a camo net over them, those would make great item caches.

    Eventual blood replenishment

It does replenish whenever you eat something, if i can't get my hand on blood bags i usually eat whatever i can find. To take a real world example, it's not recommended to give blood more than once every 2 months, this gives you an idea of how fast blood replenish in the roal world.

    Pending Build Progess: 1.5.9

Rocket, any chances the work you do on girl bodies could trickle back down to arma2 OA? or maybe arma3?
  6. Ths is an hypothesis, but a lot of players assume that as DayZ mature and get more fleshed out peoples would survive longer and "buildup" in some way. But what if we could imagine dayZ remaining as letal, and harsh, how could it be made more interesting, yet remain short and violent.

    Defibrillation

Hmmm... At the same time i tend to practice double tapping, and putting two extra bullets in a downed player should ensure that he isn't going to rise again, alive or (un)dead. It's only my opinion, but death should remain final in most cases, this mechanic mostly advantage large groups that could keep on truckin' for quite a long time this way.

What if it wasn't getting any longer?

What i'm thinking is that it could remain a very brief and harsh experience, a few hours at the very best, but if it's deep enough in gameplay and possibilities, deep enough so you can never see it "all" in a single run, each of those small "lives" could be unique and vibrant.
  10. I liked it until it arrived to the "owner" thing. If i can hop into your BMP and you let me do it, it should now be mine, the game shouldn't put a virtual "owner id" on it. You should only be allowed to own what you have the means to defend.

You, you and you. You are all part of the problem.

I agree with you, usually the way is see those statements is this way: "If you change this feature the game will lose it's popularity and i will be the first one to contribute to it's downfall" And yes it reads like blackmail. Wether players realise it or not, the choices we make as a community WILL shape the future of the DayZ experience. If the game devolve in mindless deathmatch, as some profess, they need to remember that if they aren't part of the solution, they are part of the very problem they are describing.
  12. THe problem i have with money is that it encourage hoarding, check every RPG where players will do countless trips to and from a dungeon in their attempt to sell everything that isn't bolted to the floor. Bartering force you to make difficult choices, money even if it's more convenient and remove that difficult choice from you. Some guys tried to reduce this issue in fallout by adding a weight to bottlecaps so you can't just become infinitely rich and at some point you need to make choices.

    Girl Character?

Let take an example of a game that has already female soldiers: Half life 2's resistants have men and women models, Are they recogniseable ? yes. Do their hitboxes noticeably change? no. They actually use the same animations and skeletons http://images.wikia.com/half-life/en/images/c/cc/Rebels_tunnel_dark.jpg http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20100413105403/half-life/en/images/9/9c/Rebels_tunnel.jpg I don't know where this misconception that girls are harder to hit is coming from, even an anorexic isn't paper thin, go play paintball someday and you will realise that it doesn't really matter.

    Defibrillation

Defibrillators don't revive people tho... they tend to put you in cardiac arrest if you didn't need to get your heart restarted... DOn't we have epinephrin syringes already?
  16. why gold coins? why not bean cans? Sure, get your gold coin but they should take inventory space, like every objects.

    Girl Character?

WHo know, if rocket ends up making anything reuseable MAYBE this will trickle back down to Arma3 and fullfill a request i've been making since operation flashpoint.

[VIDEO] Trailer for 48 Hour DAYZ Marathon

I wanna hear that from the man himself :D Otherwise i'll still consider Bashurverse to be a rogue server, popularity doesn't excuse everything.

    More emergent gameplay

It is my belief that what makes DayZ so fascinating is that the game rules are very simple and comparable to the rules of physics in the real world. Some of the very simple rules we already have that can be exploited in many different ways: -Placing Barb wire and sandbags allow to fortify a building, secure encampments, funnel zombies and players. -The wound system allow a variety of play, will you kill this guy or spare bullets by wounding him enough so the zombies can catch him? -Tents: some use them as a lure to atract players in a killzone, some use them as a storage, some use them as the foundation of a player camp. -Vehicles: some use them as mobile tents. I think we should focus in thinking about features that are very simples and very close to "laws of physics" kind of features. The temperature system i'm sure will bring all kind of new situations. Which means, no "game like" rules because those always close up the gameplay rather than broadening it. My suggestion that follow these guidelines: Change the campfires so they make much more light and have a distinct "dark" smoke that can be seen over the trees, this would allow to find groups of players "hey look, there are peoples alive there!" and to allow players to use them as various signalisation methods. Airhorns: They would be handheld items that basically emit a sound that can be heard from very far, could be used for signaling or to lure zombies away from a building, car horns could have the same effect? Zipties and non letal weapons, this was suggested in another thread. Addiction: Painkillers and other drugs could have some side effects, for example every painkiller taken increase the chance that the next painkiller will not calm your shake (your body is getting used to it), this would create some players that now are looking for painkillers to calm their addiction.

    More emergent gameplay

I'm not sure what you mean by signaling guns. On a sidenote, i used to play a web game called "hordes" whose main plot was to survive, cooperatively every nights a zombie attack on a fortified city. All the day you could acomplish various useful and less useful actions, be a team player or a selfish bastard, there was all kind of shoddy tools and items that could save you sometimes or simply kill you (life in this game was extremely cheap). You could die from drinking a poisoned water ration that an evil player would have laced with poison and put back in the city "bank" You could die from dehidratation. You could use stuffs like "electro stimulation" to make you work harder, which would literally hurt you and require medical help if you didn't want to die from an infection. This game had very simple mechanics and 99% of all the game drama and happened in the little forum each city had.

    The "Lazy Owner" Issue

The dayZ dev team could probably cut down a lot of maintenance work if they pick a selected list of worldwide, trustable and proficient server providers and have everyone who want a server have to deal with them. Basically make it more difficult to be directly a server operator, have some requirement, like "we want you to manage at least 10 servers" and it's then up to the trusted server provider to lease at least this number of server (or more). Because i know how it work when you let everyone who can rent a quad core be a direct host, your database will get corrupted again and again and every server admin will apply the "no withness, no crime" logic when it comes to violating the server operator rules.
