You have less risks of being spawn killed if you spawn with nothing, than if you have something on you that is powerful enough to retaliate, because then, on top of the random noob killer you will also have the ones who want your stuffs. To put it simple, whenever i respawned with the old mechanic, i would look for another freshly spawned guy to kill him and take his stuffs (double the starting resources for me yay). If i failed i only lost a few minutes, and by killing him he probably didn't lose much either.

I could totally see this, consensual and non consensual, from a gameplay standpoint it could be one of those things that let a player warm up the other ( random idea, but what do you do when you're cold and without any method of warming up? you cuddle with another person ) However this is sex, and it's not going far from non consensual sex, which is, sadly, a very "hot button" topic (we are ok with depicted murder but not sex or rape, strange world) This is the kind of stuff that would trigger a media shitstorm that will fall on everyone remotely involved in the project. The dayZ team, but also Bohemia interactive for making it possible. Last rape simulator (rapelay) was being sold on import from japan on amazon and amazon refused to continue selling it, and this wasn't even a legal matter ( that sort of stuff is 100% legal ) but it created a moral shitstorm and no business wanted to be in it's path. So yeah from a design standpoint it would be an interesting approach, but from a PR standpoint it would be extremely damaging. Hell i could see the ESRB reclassify Arma2 if a 3rd party mod allowed that kind fo stuff.

Removing the starting weapon was a good move. Peoples would kill you for your clips of makarov before you had time to find your bearings. Now reshly spawned players are not worth the bullet. Some would rush to the hot zones, doing suicide rushes with their makarov, nothing to lose, everything to gain. Others would rush back to where they died to pick their corpse or to find back their assassin, now they have to look for a weapon for 30-60 minutes before even considering this, proper penality for death. Rocket has his own opinion about fun in video games, to him designers these days are trying too hard to inject "fun" in their design. This is a sandbox survival game where you compete with other players for your fun, you don't deserve to have it unless you fight for it, you have to tear it from the game's entrails with your bare hands.

You sincerly expect peoples to give you their opinion in a topic where you present 4 exploits and then continue with 7 half assed suggestions? Try to limit yourself to one topic at a time in the same thread otherwise the answers will be so dilluted, you might aswel not have posted.

I suggest you guys watch this video of rocket during his presentation at Rezzed where he answer questions about DayZ.This kind of suggestion will never be considered, it goes against everything he has in mind for DayZ. Rocket doesn't want to punish players for denying your enjoyment of the mod, he doesn't care, a big part of his design vision is to let players shape what the dayZ experience is.

Put a 1 hour cooldown between each respawns, problem solved, and you give some time for those who need "timeout" to cool off after being murdered.

Am i to understand that, like for Bashurverse, being an internet celebrity gives you all the rights as long as you promote dayZ?

I like the idea of a perk that grow over time, but it should go back to zero if you die, this would make your life worth a little more than just what you are carrying, and make robbery more viable.

How woudl the name help you, the chances for you to actually locate your killer are very slim, and then what? So you can put a post it on the side of your screen so the next time you meet him you can shoot him on sight? How is that related to dayZ? Because it's "not right" that he can get away with it?

We all know now that as it stand, military gear only spawn in a handful of places. What i suggest is simple, every single loot spot should have the entire loot table available. However the chance for everything should obviously vary, what i mean by this is that even if it's 1 chance in 1 million that there is an AK in a barn, this chance should still exist, any gear should potentially be anywhere, the only thing is that gear that is not normally found in this setting should be possible, but extremely unlikely. That would mean that sometimes, just sometimes you get lucky and find something unique where you did not expect it and it would release a little bit of the pressure that is currently on cherno/elektro/airfield. THe scenario is totally possible if you think about it, maybe some soldier accidentally lost a clip in this barn during the retreat, it's very unlikely, but not impossible.

I don't think it's in rocket's interest to rely on 3rd party mods, ACRE is difficult to configure for the average joe and ACE is huge, bloated and takex a good while to load if you do not use an SSD drive.

The problem i see is that there isn't such a thing as "true" identity in the absense of a society. We could consider that my "true" identity is the one i use the most. Lets say if i called myself Tallahassee and stuck to this name, most people i would meet or that would hear about me, would know me as Tallahassee. But if one day i decide to change name to Columbus and hide my face, i could pretend i'm someone else, until Tallahassee fall off the face of the earth. Hell i could even spread the rumor that Tallahassee is dead. The thing with pseudonyms is that they only remain pseudonyms if you change it often. After a while using the same one it becomes your name.

And here you go back to the third grader insults simply because I disagree with your opinion. Quote me one line from Rocket that back up your claim? Actually no, you know what? I'm not even going to bother argueing with a thick skull like you.

Then go play something else because you obviously refuse to change your play style in order to increase your chances of survival. Rocket himself said that we would not interfer in how peoples play the game, that the actions of the community as a whole will determinate how the game is played. How YOU think the game is ment to be played is jsut your own damn OPINION. There are no rules, no goals, the difinition of a sandbox game is that the game is not directed, you make your own choices and set your own goals. If someone's goal is to see how many time in a row he can kill you then that's gonna be how the game is ment to be played for you and him. If rocket decide there is too much killing going on he will probably reduce the amount of ammo that can be looted. But i believe he won't flag murderers as "bad people" The ability of a player or group of players to simply impose by force their goals on you is part of what makes dayZ so interesting.

I'll repeat what i said in another topic. This is DayZ you don't deserve to have fun, you have to take your fun by force from other players. Without a society to put warrants on peoples head you have zero chance of spotting who is a good guy and who is a bad guy, or who is "grey guy" ( i love my childrens so much i will trick and kill you to feed them ) The banding together thing is a pipe dream, look at the looting during the katrina events, some people banded together sure, but how many simply where going for themselve and taking what they wanted? Feel free to band with others, there is strength in numbers. But accept that trusting strangers is also a weakness that will get you killed. Peoples will band together with those that they know and trust, not with random strangers this will be extremely rare. You will have familes and groups of families trusting eachothers and working together while distrusting everyone else. The closer peoples are in a group, the more the us versus them mentality shows.

A normal survivor... Where do all those peoples who think surviving is a kind of non violent hippie stuff come from?

How do you think the first guy who made this figured it out? Supersonic bullets would still be okay, the supersonic crack is made by the bullet, but it doesn't really give away where the shooter is, since the crack follow the bullet.
