I personally am already against military helicopters (what is wrong with having civilian helicopters? if anything it's certainly more authentic than a huey or a mil)

It's denying advancement to other players is part of the game... i'm sorry but as long as you're back on the coast with nothing, i don't have to deal with you. Ultimately no player deserve to have fun in DayZ , as rocket said, it's the "anti game", you will have to earn your fun and fight for it.

I simply cannot agree with your main idea because of all the technical assumptions (and conclusions based on those assumptions) you are making, this is not how games, programs and computers work.

Dying i think would be good.

BeamNG is a soft body simulator, that's all it does and that's all it can do. Not simulate a whole world of gun ho survivors. There is a reason this kind of physics is not in video games already (rigs of rods, it's precursor has existed for ages).

Which is the main issue with DayZ at the moment in my opinion. I fully support people acting like bullies, assholes and general psychopaths. But i also support that they should get what's coming to them. I want a dayz where dicks are known. But where some of them are untouchable because everyone is shaking in their boots at the idea of being anywhere near them.

Don't expect any special treatment tho.

The issue for me is that if i switch the default device, it switches the sound of every other programs i have currently running. For me, being able to directi the game sound to the interface i will be recording for streaming is a plus.

And i'm totally against this because, if i had my way, most of you guys would not be allowed to speak ever: The guy who bought the cheapest microphone in the world.The guy who think that speakers and microphones are just fine and send a ton fo feedback.The "always on" mic user that refuse to put his computer in a quiet room and/or watch tv while playing.The mouth breathers.Those who are either loud or can't setup their recording levels at a reasonable volume.Bad integrated soundcard that leak noise back to input.100 mile long unshielded extension cords.

Ah the old days of Ultima online where large discussions where a pain to follow because chat would appear over the speaker's head. None of that "devolving" to IRC that every games are using now.

Every single voice app out there allow you to set input/output to something else than default. Some games have the option but they are rare.

Ah the us army and it's "toys" ... More realistically, if all you have in name of bandage is "rags", that's what i'm more interested in. Leave the cool quickclot bandages and all that "nice to have stuff" and lets be realistic for a second because in a pinch, you gotta do with what you have, which usually isn't much.

Well i do know that the standard locomotion mode on long distances for humans isn't running, but walking. Unless you're doing a marathon, but who can claim that in this forum.

Seconded, i use virtual sound devices for streaming and there is hardly any game out there that support using a sound output that isn't the windows "default".

Come to think of it i do agree that japan would be a very interesting space with hit's ultra dense urban shoreline sitting right next to virtually untouched mountains. This would be great for having a very varied environment.

Well sadly players are not interested in being weak, so it would just lead to more lighthouse suicides.

It's called a crossbow :) I don't believe in the need for antimaterial rifles, it's just more gun fetish.

Well shadows are one of the most expensive parts of rendering, even more in an open world with thousands of objects on screen (forests come to mind). It's not uncommon to stick to a single shadow casting object (sun/moon). I mean New vegas doesn't even actually has any shadow casting on the game world :p

DayZ is NOTHING new, it's just that mainstream gaming so far has always ignored games that are into punishing the player.
