That's assuming they care about the whining. You give too much credit to the silent majority, i think most of them don't care and don't get worked up by a game. Again that's assuming they read any of this seriously.

And boiling water doesn't sanitize it completely, it doesn't mean people won't do it if it's all they can do. You survive by doing what you have to, not what by doing what is safe. The point is not to consider how much your actions affect your life span, the point is to survive until tomorrow, next week, next season, maybe a couple years.

Because this is not what they agreed to when they started renting the server. You will see in life that renting a house, or a car doesn't give you free reign on it and it comes with a lot of restrictions. Your landlord will kick you out if you start removing walls or painting the outside in a different color. And no paying customer do not get a free pass, the GSP can lose his right to rent DayZ server if he doesn't enforce the rules. Renting a DayZ server is not like renting something for your personal use, you agree to provide a public service, if you don't like it, you don't have to rent, but you are not a special little snowflake that doesn't have to follow the rules.

16gb of ram is overkill for a gaming setup.

Triple A studios make what will sell and nothing else, you can't just gamble 5 million dollars on a "maybe?" It has nothing to do with death-match and everything to do with the fact that you are safer in this game as long as you kill everyone you see, you will leverage the dead guy's looting ability on top of yours and you don't have to share anything. Having friends and mates you can rely upon is a big boost but it only takes one wrong encounter to send you back to the beach, and losing everything. Most try-hard video-game players out there will furiously defend their loot and sense of achievement. This is one of the reason AAA studios never make this kind of game, it's hard to get it right, and even if you get it right, you have to rely on players. As for private hives? these will be the final nail in the coffin, once every server is managed by a happy 13 years old admin who will consider for ban anyone who bothers him, his friends, or any of his precious cattle(player) herd, the very concept of pvp will be constrained to servers that truly advertise themselves as mindless death-match. In short, everyone lose.

How about you take care of your own problems.
